On a slightly less 'hardcore' note:

I'll be narrating "The Monster Mash" with my bunch at our annual Halloween Spooktacular"...

Very cool Clem.

And remember - there's always room for Cello.

Maybe I could get someone to bootleg it with a phone or tablet. Only Classics/Mozart/Chamber concerts are recorded for the archives. At this point, I don't know if I'll be onstage in the soloist's spot, or backstage using the PA system. Gotta figure that one out, because it will determine what costume I'd be using. If I'm backstage for that tune only, I'll do my usual 'bloody surgeon' deal- it's so comfortable wearing scrubs.

If I'm onstage, I'll do either Frank or The Reaper. Cooler-looking, but harder to play in.

More later.

Arch: you should bring The Soog... she'd get a kick out of it. Oh wait! It's on a Sunday afternoon. Forget it- I know we can't compete with the Browns. (tho we probably could if we had uniforms and a week off to scratch out 4-5 plays... wink )

They didn't dress for Halloween, but music by The Doors is spooky. A few years ago the wife and I dressed up and played Doors' music in the background when trick or treaters came calling.

The End, Moonlight Drive, Back your Man and Not To Touch the Earth are very effective, among a few others.

How could you guys miss the Bowling Green Philharmonic Orchestra?

Actually, it was John Carpenter on a keyboard, but he was having fun with the credits.

The Time Warp....nay...The whole Rocky Horror Picture Show Soundtrack is the greatest Halloween album ever. And certainly in my top ten albums all-time.

I get chills when I hear:

"Michael Rennie was ill
The Day the Earth Stood Still
But he told us where we stand
And Flash Gordon was there
In silver underwear
Claude Rains was The Invisible Man
Then something went wrong
For Fay Wray and King Kong
They got caught in a celluloid jam
Then at a deadly pace
It Came From Outer Space
And this is how the message ran..."

I got chills.
