No one is "bashing" him..

No one has said they didn't want him on the team.

He is not worth the money that he was asking for.

Regardless of how well he played for a stretch in the playoffs, he isnt worth the money he got..

We are all happy the ordeal is over.

We all want to watch the Cavs win a title.

With just under a week before the season begins, the Cleveland Cavaliers are one step closer toward setting their final roster.

The Cavs announced today that they waived forward Austin Daye, guard D.J. Stephens, forward Jack Cooley and guard Dionte Christmas. This move puts the Cavs current roster at 16, one more than the league maximum of 15 that they are allowed to carry during the season.

With most of the Cavs roster in place, that leaves only one spot open between guards Jared Cunningham and Quinn Cook.

Cunningham, entering his fourth year out of Oregon State, has averaged 12.3 points and 3.4 assists per game in seven preseason games for the Cavs, including a 31-point outburst against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Cook, a rookie from Duke, has averaged 3.3 points and 2.2 assists per game in six preseason games for the Cavs.

The Cavs have until Oct. 26 to make their roster final for opening night, which is Oct. 27 against the Chicago Bulls.

We'll still have to see if they decide to run with 15 or 14. I'm thinking they'll probably want to keep Cunningham though, as he can play both point and SG.

I like Cunningham. We should keep him. I think he is a better player than Delly, and no, I am not saying to cut Delly.

Really like the Kings. It's a huge and athletic team full of talent. That team is either going to make the playoffs or be an absolute dumpster fire.

Evidently (for now) the Cavaliers have decided to go with a 15 man roster, so Congratulations to Jared Cunningham for making the team! He definitely deserved it, as he played his butt off this preseason.

Cleveland Cavaliers to waive Quinn Cook, keep Jared Cunningham | cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland Cavaliers will release former Duke point guard Quinn Cook, giving Jared Cunningham a roster spot, league sources informed Northeast Ohio Media Group.

Cunningham secures the 15th and final roster slot.

Head coach David Blatt said the final spot would be issued to a guard, with Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert sidelined with injuries.

Cook, 22, appeared in five preseason games and averaged 3.6 points and 1.8 assists in 12.2 minutes a contest.

Cunningham, 24, separated himself from the pack of camp invitees with a 31-point performance against Philadelphia. He scored in double figures off the bench in four of the seven exhibition games.

His contract is non-guaranteed, which means if the team decides to release him at any point during the season, it will not owe the guard a penny more.

Cleveland has a deadline of 5 p.m. to officially waive Cook.

I don't think it was ever a question of if we carried 15 with the injury situation. I also know most of us thought it would cunningham. His ability to defend 2 positions helps.. and his contract is non guaranteed so when irving/shump get back we don't owe him..No brainer, he's a solid kid. Might see lebron/jefferson guarding some of the bigger 2's though

As deep as this team is, barring some major injuries, they should be able to win 55 games and keep people rested without much trouble.

Heck they won 53 games last year, LeBron took 2 weeks off and they didn't start playing until almost 3 months into the season.

We already lost last year. Why didn't we blow it up then? They had consistency all season, dammit.

We just need to trade LeBron while we can still get something for him. Start building for a real run at things.

I agree.

We need picks and cap space. That's the only way to build a winner!

Don't be ridiculous!

Even if we win, if we don't win "well enough", he should be fired and we should blow everything up! wink

I'll say this about TTs deal..

At least he plays..

That Shumpert deal may eventually be worse than Thompson's..

I wonder how many games TT has missed due to injury? I wonder how many games Andy has missed due to injury? I wonder how many games Moz has missed due to injury? I wonder how many games Kyrie has missed due to injury? I wonder how many games Shump has missed due to injury?

I really don't know the answer to all of those questions, but I have a feeling that TT is the most durable of all of them. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Doesn't seem to be much excitement for tonight's opener.

I can't say I am really excited because LeBron will probably be disinterested during the beginning of the year and we'll read post after post about how it doesn't matter what you do in the regular season and it's all about the playoffs.

Then again, if it fits their agenda, posters will only post the regular season stats of a guy they don't like and ignore how great he was in the playoffs. rofl

Sorry.........but unless you are full of hate, you gotta admit that is kinda funny. smirk

I'm interested to watch the rotations and chemistry of our players. Pretty jacked that there is another Ohio team that I care about that should has a real chance of winning it all this year. It would be sweet to see the Buckeyes and Cavs win it all this year.

That was anticlimactic.

I get the feeling that any road game this year thats close will not be easy for us, as it relates to the refs.

I think they call Chicago for maybe 2 fouls in the 4th quarter
