Ha ha, if this is the best dirt you libs can find on Carson, well he must be pretty clean. You really think this is a conservative v non-conservative point? His opinion is just as good as anyone else's. The pyramids were definitely not tombs. What were they?

http://www.sciencealert.com/here-s-how-s...raohs-not-grainHere's how scientists know the pyramids were built to store pharaohs, not grain Because ancient Egyptians could write. FIONA MACDONALD 6 NOV 2015 Facebook Icon Twitter Icon There's plenty of talk right now about a certain US politician's thoughts on the purpose of the pyramids. And while we'll let other sites deal with the comments themselves, we wanted to quickly break down the science for you, because despite common belief, the pyramids aren't actually that mysterious anymore. While there are still some details we don't know, the reality is that there's a whole lot of solid evidence to explain who built them, how they were built, and, yes, even why the pyramids were constructed. So we wanted to go through some of that, if for no other reason than for you to use it during dinner party conversations this weekend (and you know people are going to be talking about it): First off, the grain idea isn't as ridiculous as it might sound. It's a theory that stems from the Biblical description of text in the Old Testament, and has been around since at least the sixth century, when Saint Gregory of Tours wrote: "They are wide at the base and narrow at the top in order that the wheat might be cast into them through a tiny opening, and these granaries are to be seen to the present day." You can see why, without looking inside a pyramid, you might think that. But this idea has since been discredited by scientists for a number of reasons. 1. Pyramids aren't hollow: They're incredibly solid and usually only contain a few claustrophobic chambers, connected by long, sloping pathways and concealed entrances, in order to confuse potential tomb raiders. Not a very efficient place to store grain. 2. Ancient Egyptians left instructions inside the pyramids: Archaeologists have found funerary text inscriptions inside pyramid chambers built between 2375 and 2160 BCE, which serve the sole purpose of instructing the dead pharaoh's soul how to cross over to the afterworld. That would be a strange thing to put inside a granary. 3. There's evidence of burial inside the pyramids: "Pyramids were definitely used as tombs: burial equipment, such as sarcophagi, jewellery, mummies or mummy parts were found in some of them. (The others were robbed in antiquity, or in a few cases the burial chambers are below the water table)," archaeologist Deborah Sweeney from Tel Aviv University in Israel told Jewish news site Haaretz over email. 4. There are lots of different pyramids, built over thousands of years: There are more than 100 pyramids known in Egypt, and they were built anywhere between 2686 and 1750 BCE. South of Egypt, in Sudan, there are around 255 of the structures. All the ones studied appear to have served as tombs. 5. Ancient Egyptians actually had granaries: And they've been studied by archaeologists. "These were normally dome-shaped buildings open at the top, which stood near houses and government buildings," said Sweeney. 6. The only grain found in pyramids is part of a burial ritual: To be fair, there have been a few odd remains of grain found in pyramids by archaeologists, but this is part of an Egyptian burial ritual known as the Osiris bed, as the Tour Egypt site explains: "These are wooden trays in the form of the god, Osiris, which were planted with seeds of grain. They were expected to germinate once the tomb was sealed, and were symbolic of the continuation of life after death." So there you have it. We think the evidence speaks for itself. And just in case it doesn't, we'll leave you with this: Ben Carson thinks the pyramids were used to store grain, not buried rulers. 1) pyramids aren't hollow, and 2) ancient Egyptians could write. β Jacquelyn Gill (@JacquelynGill) November 5, 2015

So, the more bat crap crazy stuff these candidates say, the more the republican base loves them.
Basically, the GOP's perfect candidate would've been admitted to a psych ward for a few months.

That was also much ado about nothing. May I ask you, as someone who likes Carson, how you feel about Carson creating a fictitious childhood in an attempt to sell books? May I then ask you about how you feel knowing that Carson isn't even in government yet and has already started to lie to the people of the United States for personal gain?

May I ask you why you took a Mole Hill and turned it into Mountains for both Trump and Carson? May I then ask if you are slanted in your choice of Parties? The Carson story is from memory of something that occurred in 1969. He remembered it pretty close but when investigated his memory was not as exact as the documentation. βThat position allowed me the chance to meet four-star general William Westmoreland, who had commanded all American forces in Vietnam before being promoted to Army Chief of Staff at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.,β he wrote. βI also represented the Junior ROTC at a dinner for Congressional Medal of Honor winners, marched at the front of Detroitβs Memorial Day parade as head of an ROTC contingent, and was offered a full scholarship to West Point.β Carson has said he turned down the supposed offer of admission because he knew he wanted to be a doctor and attending West Point would have required four years of military service after graduation. Cecil Murphey, who ghostwrote βGifted Hands,β told POLITICO that his memory of Carsonβs exchange with Westmoreland was hazy. βMy gut response is that it was not a private meeting, but there were others there,β he said in an email. βThe general took a liking to Ben and opened doors.β http://www.politico.com/story/2015/11/ben-carson-west-point-215598And another Mole Hill becomes a political mountain.

but the point still stands.
nobody should talk about struggling when daddy gift wrapped them 1 million to go invest.
thats not having it rough. in no way does this guy relate to anybody middle class or lower whatsoever. me and him have zero experiences in common.
i'd never vote for him.

You don't need to vote for him.
He and I have 0 experiences in common as well.
Only reason I even replied was because of the $200 million "given" to him. He got $1 million (still a lot of money to you, me, or 99% of this board). And it was a loan - not a gift. Now, did he ever repay the loan? I would guess he did, but I don't know that.

He never said he had it rough.
He ended up making much more money than Daddy ever had and probably paid him back from his wallet.
This is the kind of man we need in America to face $20Trillion deficits and get the economy humming again in my opinion. He knows how to negotiate. He knows Business and he knows money, he knows how to grow both.

I've been listening with interest to Ben Carson. So far I've gathered some interesting information.
He likes to hit his mom in the head with a hammer. He couldn't stab someone no matter how hard he tried ( total fail ) And he feels he would make the perfect candidate to build a damned fine ark!

Why should I listen to a guy who doesn't have any formal education in a field that has a high requisite for formal education. Looking at his "gallery" page it looks like he went to Egypt one time. In the very first page he quotes someone from the first BC about Egyptian archaeology. A claim that has been proven false. Why would I waste it?

nobody should talk about struggling when daddy gift wrapped them 1 million to go invest. So you think it was easy to take a million and turn it into billions? Most people, given a million, would go back in a couple years with nothing. So then you'll vote for Marco Rubio? Son of a cuban immigrant bartender and a hotel housekeeper who started college on a football scholarship and got himself through law school? Oh wait, there is still that matter of the R behind his name, which really is the sticking point for you, it isn't wealth, it isn't whiteness, it isn't whether you have had any shared experiences... that's all bullcrap..... it's the R...

I don't like Hillary either.
It's just funny how many times both Carson and Trump open their mouths and insert their feet, yet so many try so very hard to defend them.
I like and still like a very good candidate that will never make it in either party. Jim Webb.
The GOP thinks he's too liberal and the Dems think he's too conservative. Former Secretary of the Navy under Reagan and a very principled man.
Right now I still don't have a horse in this race. Yet I can still see the comedy in all of this from both sides.
Heck, Hillary and Bernie are both making a ton of promises anybody with an ounce of common sense knows they can never deliver.
So far the entire thing is a comedy of errors.

They don't have to deliver.. they just have to sucker enough people into voting for them who believe they are going to get all kinds of free stuff ... then when all of that free stuff doesn't happen, blame it on the republicans... it's worked for Barack.

So far the entire thing is a comedy of errors. Actually, the scary thing about bernie and hillary is the chance that they might succeed with those promises. I don't want to be taxed to death to provide any idiot with a college diploma, nor do I want to pay for universal preschool, or any of the other freebies they promised. There isn't enough money. Trump has more Teflon than Reagan did, and he might just win this. This Carson thing will be the only scandal the dems are able to link to him, and it will fail. Webb's a good man, but I think he's a lousy politician. I do live in VA.

I just gave you an example within the piece and you still don't think I read it? He's using the information of archaeologists that had their information from before Christ lived. We've found Egyptian tombs since then. This guy is a hack. Luckily there are internet nerds out there who throw water on even the smallest fires. Jason Colavito reviews this nutjob's book and says, "He begins by adopting the βscienceβ of Robert Bauval, the fringe writer who proposed back in 1994 the so-called Orion Correlation Theory, which holds that the pyramids were designed to map out the stars of the constellation Orion on the ground. Bauval had taken inspiration from Robert Templeβs Canopus correlation theoryβthat Egyptian cities were planned to map out the constellation Canopus across Egyptβin a copy of Templeβs 1976 ancient astronaut book, The Sirius Mystery, that he happened to read at an airport. " http://www.jasoncolavito.com/blog/review-of-scott-creightons-the-secret-chamber-of-osiris-2015Why should I listen to this guy? His science isn't proven. He's not using today's science. He uses middle ages folklore.

The thing that makes me angry with this Country is the Press.
Their slant on every political subject and candidate robs us all of the ability to get the facts to make our own decisions. They are all nothing more than propaganda machines. They serve themselves instead of the American people.
Just look at the way they covered Romney and the 47% thing. They were all over it as evil and elitist yet when Hillary says at the debate that her number one enemy is the Republicans! Well folks, that is Half the Country! The Press- not a word.

There might be a difference between saying the opposing party is your enemy and 47% of Americans are looking for a handout.

Man what are you talking about? Are you that dense? I've said before multiple times I'd consider voting for Kasich or Paul. Another poster who gets tunnel vision and reads what he wants to read.
I wouldn't vote for Rubio because he sucks. The guy is foreclosing on his second home. A politician that makes hundreds of thousands a year is that bad with his finance that he's foreclosing on his home, "accidentally"(lol, yea right)mixed his campaign finance with personal finance?
And you trust this guy with balancing and managing the budget? I wouldn't trust this guy to manage my daughters lemonade stand.
But keep pulling nonsense and assumptions out the side of your neck. You don't know me. And you're looking foolish.

βTo announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.β

I've heard of the Orion star theory before actually, and have a strong interest in ancient Egyptian culture I just don't see any way you can really support the granary theory considering how terrible the pyramids were at storing anything. They are huge structures but don't really support containing much inside of them...
