Bad game by Goff. He still made several good throws. It'll be nice to see how he bounces back.

5 INTs certainly isn't what I expected to see from Goff.

He has nice mobility and athleticism. Made some poor decisions though.

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Utah's got a great defense too. No excuse though.

Doughty (WKU) or Wentz (North Dakota St) are the going to be the best available next draft, then the QB from Utah

Yeah, he has looked good in the two games of his that I watched.

Big kid, good feet for that size, good arm, confident, can throw w/touch, etc.

I would like to see him work on his footwork, though.

With another great game tonight (albeit, against Tulsa); 31/43, 441 yds, 4 TD, 0 INT. His running TD was also impressive, he flat-out outran the defense to the corner. His movements are fluid, and he has speed.

Problem, from my point of view, is that he isn't under the radar anymore. During tonight's broadcast they said Lynch is now #10 on Mel Kiper's top prospects list.

He might very well end up being the first overall pick. And I am not exaggerating.

I'm buying.

If I was GM of the Browns and had the #1 overall pick, it would be Lynch.

I really like Lynch. Cook may be the most NFL ready QB this year. Lynch could be the most physically gifted. Hogan is looking pretty solid too. Goff, on the other hand, hasn't impressed me. Harris moves awkwardly. I haven't seen Wentz.

I think there will be QB options in the next draft.

Hogan has the benefit of a great offensive line and running game. He just asked not to screw it up.

I haven't really kept up with Standford too much this year, but has Hogan pretty much bottomed out again like the past 3 seasons? Yaknow, early in the year he has enough weaknesses to not be considered as a starting QB in the NFL, right away, but during the middle of the year he starts flashing again... Once the pressure's off? I'm just wondering as this is what he's been doing the past 2 seasons.

Hogan has played really well so far this season. As I said above, he has a legit running game to take a lot of the pressure off. Stanford's offensive line is also pretty good. He's having the best year of his career at the exact right time.

Saturday USC plays Cal. This should be a good game to scout.

What I have seen so far this year of Goff and Kessler have been good.

Looking forward to the game. I have come to really enjoy watching NFL prospects especially skill positions. At times while watching these guys others guys flash.

The Goff/Kessler matchup should be interesting.

Kessler has a weak arm and is very inconsistent. He reminds me of John David Booty.

I believe that Cooter could coach up Booty.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Not really. All I have seen of him were a few highlights from his last game.

I will go to Draft Breakdown today and check him out.

Right now as much as I like scouting quarterbacks in particular; I am conflicted.

Just the thought of watching the draft in April and thinking of Farmer as still being GM makes me ill.

I want a quarterback bad. I really don't care what others say about Bridgewater. You and I knew he was the best quarterback in that draft. All the crap that surrounded his pro day was just plain foolish. His game film showed exactly the kind of player he is now.

Knowing Farmer passed on him and selected Manziel leaves me zero confidence in his ability.

There is a long way to go before the April draft and at this point I am not endorsing anyone - yet.

The Browns will most likely be in pretty decent shape to get one of the top rated quarterbacks.

All I want is to watch the Browns play a football game and believe they have a quarterback who can take over and win games.

If Farmer is GM I'd be shocked. I might not even try to watch games next year. The only thing getting me through this season is the thought of Pettine and Farmer's heads rolling away on Manic Monday.

Just watched Lynch on the Draft Breakdown site. Watched three games.

Impressive.

One thing jumped out. Normally guys his size have some issues with footwork. Cardale Jones for example throws a lot passes from an open stance which leads to inaccuracy.

Lynch for such a big guy is very athletic.

He has a big arm that is obvious. The thing I like though is he has a pretty compact delivery.

Not really sure yet about his decisions. They seem to throw a lot of soft screens.

Need to see more to judge his complete game.

We don't always agree, but I respect your opinions on college guys, especially qbs. You put the time in.

I didn't know squat about Lynch, but watched a Thursday night game against Cincinnati. He was awesome. Watched two more games and he was even better.

Btw---------check out the freshman who plays for Cinci. He's going to be great.

Let's keep giving each other head's up on this. Okay?

The freshman from Cinci is Hayden Moore. And thanks guys for helping fulfill my intention with starting this thread (mentioned Lynch and Moore in that first post.)

I almost did not read that review because I prefer to make my own evaluations and now I wish I would have followed my instincts.

That review was ignorant. While there are some comparisons to Flacco, I would not exactly say they are negative and Lynch is far more mobile than Flacco.

I hate even arguing this...........because freaking Flacco won a Super Bowl and has reached the playoffs repeatedly. Sheesh...........

Read his review.

When comparisons are made to NFL players it kind of loses me.

College players need to be judged strictly from the environment they are in. When you try and compare them to NFL players you lose scope from the comparison.

You watch the guy play in college games and try to figure out how his "skills" will translate to the NFL.

I remember Flacco in college. I saw him on a special when he was preparing for the draft. Loved his arm. That guy can really throw the long ball. He came from Delaware. His college film was harder to judge because of their schedule. He was tall and lanky and his feet were clumsy. He was working at speed drills to quicken his footwork.

You pay close attention to the college website and try and find out what kind of leader the guy is. Ryan Mallett is a good example. He had issues in college and those same issues have surfaced in the pros. Manziel likewise.

There are so many nuances to playing quarterback. A million small things add up to the player.

That is why it is such a difficult position to judge.

Lynch has gotten on the radar. It will be fun to track this years crop of players.

Matt Miller from Bleacher Report writes:

"So, why haven't I studied Paxton Lynch? Every scout I've talked to who has gone through Memphis this year tells me he's not likely to enter the 2016 draft class."
===================================================

A guy who is similar and will be coming out is:
Carson Wentz Of N. Dakota St..

Big guy who can run and throw.

Watched Wentz against Montana. Athletic guy who runs well and has a good arm.

Just from that one game his running ability is a feature of their offense. That can be trouble.

Will watch him some more.

So far this year Conner Cook has really shown well.

Watched the USC vs Cal game.

Goff was ok. He sticks some throws especially center downfield. His mid to deep down and out throws hang.

This was not the best game I have seen him play.

He made some bad throws and payed. In the pocket he brought the ball down to his waist and it got stripped.

He still has a nice delivery and for the most part he is accurate.

The wow factor though is not really there.

Cody Kessler was not asked to win this game. It was clear the plan was to run.

Kessler is a smart player. Very accurate in the short to mid range.

Both teams played out of the shotgun.

Cal runs the spread. Goff will no doubt have a learning curve in the NFL.

I'll be the first to post a mock:

1. Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis
2. Kenny Clark, DT, UCLA
3. Scooby Wright III, OLB, Arizona
4. Tyler Matakevich, ILB, Temple
5. Sterling Sheperd, WR, Oklahoma
6. Duke Williams, WR, Auburn
7. Kenyan Drake, RB, Alabama

I think clevesteve beat you to it.

I bet Clark goes in the first round. Wright is awesome, he's just a straight up player.

Those are the only two I'll comment on because I don't really watch anything besides Pac-12.

I'm worried about Clark being picked high too. In a perfect scenario Johnny looks like a franchise QB and we pick Clark with our 1st and Myles Jack in the 2nd.

Michigan State runs a pro style offense (run heavy), one would think that would make Cook more desirable as a prospect, but I digress.

Last year:

259/413 3031 yds 62.7% 22 TD 9 INT

This year:

200/285 2709 yds 70.2% 18 TD 1 INT

Could he possibly be the Bortles of this year's draft if he decides to come out?
