After this thread, it shows just how desperate this fan base is for a QB. The idea of signing Kap is no less worse than some of this FO's ideas at the QB position.

Let's quit looking for band aids and patchwork and advocate a real solution for a change.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Agreed. Kap sucks and I want no part of him in Cleveland.

can we stop grabbing people's left overs and trying to make them a viable qb here in cleveland.

it hasn't worked out once.

He's not a good quarterback.

If you are going to pick up a guy like that, the staff has to be committed to developing an offense that plays to his strengths (like Harbaugh did).. this staff has not shown any interest in doing that so far.

Most of the leftovers we get are old, washed up guys (Dilfer, Garcia, Delhomme, McCown, etc). Kaepernick is not that.

NFL defenses adjusted to Kap's game. They did so before Harbaugh left. He stinks.

Someone already said it, he's just a JF with more size and weight. A non pocket passing Qb, I'll pass.

j/c...cfr n berea not good company cfr...lol laugh

My comparison was that the so called experts on TV complaint on Kap n Manziel - is about the pocket and yet there is an Undefeated QB out there who has similar traits.

Kap btw has some pretty unique qualities about him to. right now he looks very confused.

Vers, Pit...our best option note the word "OPTION" as I used it cause usually you have several. Our best option is KNOW FOR A FACT who we got in Manziel on the Field - does he have that "IT" factor which can only be evaluated on the field of play and not in practice.

If we win with him we will know and won't have a Top 10 pick. If we lose with him then we can assume he could be OK but probably not great and we would have an early pick and get a good shot through the draft...not at freaking #22 the after thought slot of QBs available. But near the top and finally pick a stud...which was only utilized in our 99 pick on Couch and who knows about him as he got killed cause we never built an OL around him (highest OL pick was 6th rounder rolleyes and that was with 26 picks given to us from the NFL Expansion. Whether you thought he was good or bad...fact is he didn't have a chance

But since then - sure we invested in 3...Quinn, Weeden and Manziel all 3 coincident at #22 not where Stud are gotten.

We were wise in trading the pick for Sanchez. We were stupid for passing up Big Ben for KW2...Everyone were idiots for not getting Rodgers.

But we have not gotten a stud. The only possible one I think was for Tannehill we could have gotten? Who knows about him.

I agree with you 100% about how to get our QB. Nothing really equals the opportunity to answer your question at QB better than drafting and developing your QB.

I do have one caveat to your above post.

If in fact this coaching staff and FO has already made their mind up about JFF, maybe they see no reason to give him playing time unless forced to due to injury?

I'm not saying that's the case, but at 2-7, I'd say that question may be answered sooner than later.

Then why not Austin Davis?

It's my opinion that they simply don't believe Davis is ready or even close.

I mean he came here during the season, has had zero reps with the 1's and those two things alone would disqualify him.

No, I think Davis is for next year unless injuries force something different. I believe if Davis had this years training camp and pre season under his belt, he would probably be starting over JFF.

I think people are overestimating Davis. He is another qb who holds the ball way, way too long. You just can't do that in the NFL.

Yeah, but he's the new guy so he automatically must be a better option than anything else we've got now.

I don't think Davis is good at all. But if we are done with Manziel or Manziel is not ready, then why not throw Davis out there instead?

None of this makes sense.

Maybe in our system/scheme Davis is less ready. He hasn't been here all that long.

Could be. He's been on the team for four months now though.
