My opinion on pot:
If alcohol and tobacco were invented/discovered today, would they be legal? I don't think pot is any worse than some of the other drugs most people use everyday. I don't think anyone should drive or work while under the influence of anything. I think highly addictive drugs should still be banned, or insurance companies should require you pay a premium for rehab.

Old, your boy trying to save us: Bernie Sanders Introduces Bill Ending The Federal Ban On Marijuana http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/bern...kusaolp00000592Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has introduced a bill that would end federal prohibition of marijuana, marking the latest move the Democratic presidential candidate has made toward ending the war on drugs. The Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act, introduced Wednesday, is modeled after a bill first proposed by Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) in 2013, which was reintroduced this year as the Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol Act. The Senate bill would remove marijuana from the Drug Enforcement Administration's list of the "most dangerous" drugs and strike marijuana from the Controlled Substances Act, allowing states to decide whether they want to legalize pot for recreational or medical use without federal intervention. “Just as alcohol prohibition failed in the 1920s, it’s clear marijuana prohibition is failing today,” Polis said in a statement. “For decades, the federal ban on marijuana has wasted tax dollars, impeded our criminal justice system, lined the pockets of drug cartels, and trampled on states’ ability to set their own public health laws. ... Today’s introduction of the Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act in the Senate is a huge step forward in the movement to enact the commonsense drug laws needed to grow our economy and restore fairness to our justice system." Read the full bill here. The bill comes a week after Sanders first proposed reclassifying marijuana as a less-dangerous substance, arguing that doing so is an essential component of reforming America's criminal justice system. "In the United States we have 2.2 million people in jail today, more than any other country. And we’re spending about $80 billion a year to lock people up. We need major changes in our criminal justice system – including changes in drug laws,” Sanders said at George Mason University on Oct. 28. “Too many Americans have seen their lives destroyed because they have criminal records as a result of marijuana use. That’s wrong. That has got to change." Bernie Sanders wants marijuana to be regulated like alcohol. ALEX WONG VIA GETTY IMAGES Bernie Sanders wants marijuana to be regulated like alcohol. Sanders' bill differs slightly from the House version, which also includes structures for regulating marijuana. Polis' bill would transfer the DEA's authority over marijuana to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and would amend federal alcohol laws to include provisions for importing and shipping marijuana as well as other commerce-related regulations. The Senate version of the bill does not include these provisions. The legislation garnered praise from legalization advocacy groups. "This is the first time a bill to end federal marijuana prohibition has been introduced in the U.S. Senate," said Tom Angell, chairman of Marijuana Majority. "A growing majority of Americans want states to be able to enact their own marijuana laws without harassment from the DEA, and lawmakers should listen. The introduction of this bill proves that the defeat of the Ohio marijuana monopoly measure that wasn’t widely supported in our movement isn’t doing anything to slow down our national momentum." "The science is clear that marijuana is less harmful than alcohol, and that should be reflected in our nation’s marijuana policy," Marijuana Policy Project's Mason Tvert said. "Sen. Sanders is simply proposing that we treat marijuana similarly to how we treat alcohol at the federal level, leaving most of the details to the states. It is a commonsense proposal that is long overdue in the Senate." A Gallup poll released last month found 58 percent of Americans are in favor of legalizing marijuana use.

Sanders just lost my vote and I was thinking hard about voting for him. Any canidate that wants to make harmful drugs easier to get instead of harder does not have the interests of the American people at heart. Now I wonder if Sanders has any large Coumbian or Mexican business supporters donating to him ...

I hope you are mad at the people that wrote the bill and not the people that voted against it. Though, with a 64% rejection I would say that even with a better crafted bill it likely would have still failed - it was a much larger margin of defeat than I expected. The people who wrote it, and the people who voted against it. But mainly my heart goes out to those who this could helped who now must suffer even longer because nobody seams to give a damn about them. I pray that those who voted against this bill never have to watch a loved one suffer, or get busted and sent to jail for trying to help a loved one out. I am just waiting for somebody around here to tell me to go take a valium, or a xanax with a bottle of wine and chill out

Thankfully. We've got the dank now. Look, it effects everyone differently. I can smoke a 1.5 gram joint of the highest THC(28-35%) bud and function in society. I do it regularly. My girlfriend takes one hit in the evening and naps on the couch.

I don't need drugs and booze to get by in life like most of you guys.
I find my high from a sunny day or in the love of my family.
During troubled times I have the Lord to turn too and I never forget to thank Him when times are good.
Screwing up my brain or blood chemistry helps nothing. I compare drug and booze use to effect your life as ridiculous as placing my hands on a red hot stove to warm myself on a chilly day.

I got super baked in Amsterdam a few years back. Kinda got 'lost' wandering around the city. Not that I had anywhere to be but I was trying to meander back to my hotel. At one point I had to stop and pull out my map to figure out where I was....lets just say I was not walking the direction of my hotel. I don't often go out that kind of baked. Though I've been backstage at music festivals and blazed hard all night while being social. It helps that I don't drink. So I'm much more sober than most of the other folks around. That said I find most drunk people to be highly annoying. Sloppy, boorish, clingy, and not nearly as funny as they think they are. I also smoke a lot while creating artwork. Our entire artist collective does. 'Safety breaks' as we call them. Cutting, bending, and welding steel and aluminum can be tedious. A little herb makes the hours pass by more easily.

i've done the amsterdam thing a few times, but i learned my lesson after one....incident.
We smoked and took Shrooms. It felt like i was hovering around the city, not walking. me and my wife woke up around 8am behind some McDonalds. i don't know what happened, i'm not sure i want to know, either.
Man yea, people get super creative when stoned. it's like the creative was always in them, but the weed just made it come out. it happens a lot when i'm written or trying to produce beats.
Drunk people.....ugh. thankfully my wife says i'm a happy drunk, but i just run my mouth, as in ill tell somebody my whole life story. but i got friends i don't kick it with all that much anymore because they just get loud and really aggressive. i dunno why people get liquid courage and wanna fight everybody.

Columbusdawg, lol sup with your city man? Two arrested on charge of growing pot; $1 million in marijuana seized http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2015/11/04/Pot-growers-arrested.htmlA Franklin County man already on federal probation for cultivating marijuana stayed in the business and resumed growing the drug at a house that was raided by the DEA when he was arrested in 2011, Columbus police say. Timothy Wolford, 55, of the 5100 block of Lambert Road in Pleasant Township, was arrested on Tuesday, along with Billy J. Cook III, 40, of the 800 block of Broadleigh Avenue on the East Side, on the same day that Ohio voters debated the merits of legalizing marijuana and rejected the proposal at the ballot box. “It was not planned that way,” said Lt. Larry Yates of the Columbus Police Division’s narcotics bureau. Narcotics officers said they and Franklin County deputies seized about $1 million worth of marijuana in coordinated raids at the homes of Wolford and Cook, as well as at a house in the 1100 block of Crossbrook Boulevard on the Far West Side and another in the 1800 block of Woodcrest Road on the East Side. Officers seized 629 marijuana plants ranging in size from seedlings to 5 feet tall, as well as enough processed marijuana to fill three large plastic storage bins. The haul weighed about 200 pounds, narcotics Cmdr. Terry Moore said. Other arrests are possible, police said. Wolford and Cook are charged with illegal manufacture of drugs or cultivation of marijuana, a second-degree felony that is punishable by up to eight years in prison. They posted bond on Wednesday and were released pending further court proceedings. Moore said the investigation began in August, when a citizen tipped police to what turned out to be the dumping of stems and seeds left over from marijuana processing. The ensuing probe uncovered an organized and sophisticated indoor growing business in which high-grade marijuana was being raised hydroponically under lights at the homes on Lambert and Woodcrest roads and on Crossbrooks Boulevard. “Every house was set up exactly the same way,” Yates said. Police said they found only a small amount of marijuana at Cook’s home on Broadleigh. Yates said the men had acquired about $50,000 in equipment to grow the plants without soil and process them for sale. That included a device that uses butane to extract THC, the chemical that is responsible for most of the drug’s desired effects. “Everything that they had was top of the line,” Yates said. “They sold in bulk, in quantity.” Court records show that Wolford pleaded guilty in 2011 in U.S. District Court to cultivating 100 or more marijuana plants. He was sentenced in 2012 to a year in federal prison, was released in May 2013 and began serving four years of supervised release. In that case, DEA agents said they found 108 plants at the Crossbrook Boulevard house. Agents pulled the electric bills for the house and found it was using eight to 10 times the electricity of neighboring houses, which was “consistent with a large-scale indoor marijuana cultivation operation.” The government initially sought to seize the house and an SUV but relented when Wolford pleaded guilty and agreed to forfeit $60,000, records show. The Lambert Road house also was searched in that investigation, but no items were seized.

I made Cheech & Chong look like damn rookies, and no there was no physical addiction. And I gave up smoking, when I decided to, without any problem whatsoever. I ran into a kid I went to school with, and he was a major pot head back then. I really didn't remember the kid, but he came up to me and asked me "aren't you ..." He had all kinds of issues, mainly from smoking pot. He said that he just kind of gave up on life, and didn't really care, as long as he could smoke. He told me that he wasted many years of his life (decades) because he just couldn't give it up. Now maybe there was a mental health issue involved as well, but he just did nothing ..... because that's all he wanted to do ..... except smoke pot, of course. I have never really heard anyone else have such issues with pot, but it is possible, and likely, that some people do. Drugs affect different people differently. Some people drink all of their lives without issues, while others have one drink and alcoholism seizes them and never let's go. We need to drop this idea that just because we can handle a drug, does not mean that others also can. That's definitely not the case.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

That is still a mental addiction. Marijuana isn't physically addicted and no one has the chemicals in their body that would make marijuana become physically addicting. Had he punched every one of his dealers in the face, thus never getting weed again, he wouldn't even have a slight headache because of withdrawal (which cannot be said of common crutches like cigs and coffee). It's not the idea that, because some of us (Read: everyone but Swish ) can handle our weed that weed isn't physically addictive. It's the fact that due to brain chemistry and how weed interacts with your body that it's not addicted. It's science. Also, stop focusing on high THC. That stuff will make you go noided.

The only thing that I noticed when I quit smoking weed was I had a hard time sleeping and dreamt a lot.
I attributed it to the fact that I routinely had anxiety and used weed as a sleep aid. So it wasn't that I quit smoking weed, it was that I had nothing to replace it for my anxiety.
That is until my doctor prescribed Xanax. I used it a little while as a substitute at a very low dose and weaned myself from quickly because addiction isn't something I wished to fall into.
It's funny how a doctor can legally make you an addict yet using something just as good or better that isn't addictive is illegal.
