Not even the backup. Manziel probably won't suit up Monday night.

I'm about done with this team. I may not go to the game now, I've got better things to do.

McCown is the starter according to KNR. 3rd string now. Just heard it on 92.3 the fan. Bums me out, but it's all his own fault... Or should I blame the media?

Time for ESPN to scrap that MNF promo. What a team we've got in Cleveland.

No an effort not to talk about it would have been something like...." We are aware of the situation and will respond when we feel the time is appropriate." An effort not to talk about it wouldn't have included answering 19 questions about it using words like "frustrating" and disappointing. I get why he might feel that way, but it is stupid to have any response via the media until a direction is known.

Well we now know that we will be drafting a QB next year. I'm probably a horrible fan for this, but I hope we lose out and get our choice of QBs.
It is really disappointing that we are 16 years into this and still don't have a competent QB, HC, or FO. Here's hoping when we cut our last 1st round QB, fire our HC and FO at seasons end that their replacements will be better. Eventually we have to luck into some of these people being good....right??

This is all my fault and I'm sorry.
I decided to start him on my FFL team for this week.
1 hour later, he's benched.
My bad everyone.

This most likely spells the end of Manziel's time in Cleveland...he will stay as 3rd string until we either cna work out a trade for him, or outright cut him later.
JM has no one to blame but himself....he done this to himself.
Everyone keeps going on about what he did wrong, i'll explain.
1. Last year his substance abuse issues directly impacted his ability to play which is why he sucked last year and even he admitted it, he couldn't even learn the plays because all he cared about was the party life.
2. All his late for meetings and god knows what else last year the coaching staff was over it.
3. Manziel put himself in rehab and told the Browns he would get himself fixed up and told them he would change.
4. The Browns decided not to cut him and actually supported Manziel thoughout the entire rehab process, and they saved a roster spot for him when he came back (they didn't have to do this either)
5. They also were bringing JM along slowly allowing him to learn the plays, etc...the plan all along was Josh to hold down the fort until JM was ready.
6. Then Manziel gets seen driving his car like a wreckless idiot almost hurting someone, then the whole drunk/domestic incident with his g/f. this organization has told him over and over this type of behavior and drinking is not acceptable and would have consequences, and he refused to listen, and now he is back at it again.
this whole situation is one of Manziel's making, his employer has gave him numerous opportunities to change his behavior and he refuses to listen.
My Cousin's friend just got fired from his electrician apprenticeship, good hard working young man, was told numerous times he wasn't allowed to smoke cigarettes on company time, didn't matter where he was, as long as he was on the clock, no smoking, he was told 6 different times, and the guy doing it is a friend of mine and thats the only reason he got 6 warnings instead of 2-3...he refused to quit doing it, and he got fired for it.
Manziel needs to take notes...he is a spoiled little arse that refuses to listen to copany policy...he was told numerous times this isn't acceptable....he has no one to blame but himself...if you don't like company policy, get a job elsewhere..if your going to work for that company, then you follow the rules they set out...obviously JM has problems listening to the rules his employer sets, so the employer must take steps to correct that behavior, when those measures don't work, the only choice left is to part ways.
Sorry Manziel, i hope one of these days you learn to shut the hole under your nose, and open the two holes on both sides of your head...

I can't even support this team...stupid ass coaches that have no leadership skills, and an owner who couldn't make a good hire if his life depended on it..benching someone for his personal life when he didn't do a single thing illegal...its all asinine. regardless of if JFF turns into a good Qb, the best thing for him is to demand his release to get away from this abortion of a franchise. I won't watch another game until this staff is scrapped.

If Pettine is going down, he'll do it his way, and the new GM/Coach won't trust Manziel either. This is the end of the line. https://twitter.com/KenCarman

Idiotic move by the Browns. No where does it mention that Manziel did anything wrong. He had his picture taken at a bar. I would bet that last Friday and Saturday a large percentage of the team was at a club at some point during the weekend, to include the coaching staff. We are now demoting players, setting our starting lineups and effecting the future of the team based on a guy getting his picture taken at a night club on his week off from work.

I wouldn't have minded seeing him in this game or the San Fran game, but I had doubts that he would make through very many of the others healthy or productive.
Time to start looking at Austin Davis highlight films now.

Back off for goff sounds about right. Back off for Goff never made any sense to me. It implies the Browns could drop the hammer if they wanted, but have decided to ease up. More like...continue to eff-off for Goff Please no Goff. Please no. Don't flinch for Lynch! Or is it Flinch for Lynch?! Lynch or nothing. If the Browns are going to get the number one pick, please let it be Lynch. The problem is, they're both Juniors. They could both decide to stay in school, then what?

I'm probably a horrible fan for this, but I hope we lose out and get our choice of QBs. Not a bad fan at all. More like a big picture thinker. I'm in the same boat, the Browns better not win any more games. Bring on the #1 draft pick, just maybe, it won't get botched this time around. Manziel at least brought some intrigue to the next few games to close out the season. Now, I honestly don't think I'll be able to stay awake for the games. Purp......better get that Draft Thread opened up.

It all comes down to a matter of trust.
Manziel can not be trusted. There is more to all this than the latest incident.
What you do on the field is only part of the game.
Professional Football is a profession. Just like any profession there is a code of conduct.
Manziel is no one time offender.
The excuse of he is just 22 years old and he was just drinking does not cut it.
It has been explained to him ad nauseam. For whatever reason he has chosen to ignore everyone.
For those holding JM hope it may be time to look elsewhere.
