Re-reading the Bible. Still on the Old Testament. Lots & lots of God-approved killing. Kinda surprised.

It's funny how the birth of a child can change a being.

Pastor I have a book The Greatest Book Ever Written, which you might like to read. It deals with the The Old Testament books and references events and prophecy references to the coming of The Savior and events to which were to happen in His life. Very interesting and easy to read adds historical findings and insights to comfirm events in Old Testament.

I have a book called "The Story", that the Bible and lays the Bible out in chronological order. (The Gospels are combined into one chapter, for example) I have not yet read it in depth, but I will when I get all the way through the Bible. It looks like a well laid out book from what I have read of it.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
John 14:19 Jesus said: Because I live, you also will live.

I just finished the original Jason Bourne Trilogy. There's a bunch more, but I don't know what the movies were based on, because it wasn't the original Bourne character.

Thank you. I don't know if I'll find much of a career upgrade with it, but it's accomplishment nonetheless. I'm through the first three chapters and really like the book already. I've had a few genuine laughs, mostly to do with Bryson inviting a guy I'm imagining looking like John Candy with a mustache awkwardly trolling through the woods with him. Not sure if the fellow will make it.

I'm reading Fool Moon, the 2nd of the Dresden Files series. I'm a fair way in on the Dresden files. Midway through approx book 8 or something. Easy reading, good characters and humour. Started that wheel of time series. Only read first book. Finding hard to find time lately to read between work, study and family. Have started Neil Gaimans graphic novel, The Sandman series.

Just finishing-up:
LIFE an autobiogaphy by Keith Richards
Leaves me wondering: HOW IS THIS GUY STILL ALIVE?
stoned, drunk, wasted, high, strung-out , blitzed, snookered, laced, tanked, under the influence, glazed, inebriated, liquored up, tipsy, crocked, plastered, feeling no pain, boozed up, three sheets to the wind, under the table, totaled, stewed, seeing double, lit, sloshed, buzzed, flying, flushed, buzzed
That's just the Preface.
I still have a "contact high".

I just got done reading a book on Franz Ferdinand. It was actually a pretty good read.
I also read Back in Action, true story about a guy who was the first commander to go into a warzone as an amputee in Iraq.
Currently almost done with Unbroken. Story about a guy who was olympic athlete, lost out on that due to the war. Gets shot down, survives 46 days at sea, ends up captured by the Japanese and stuck in POW camps... great read. I've started watching the movie as well but its not anywhere near as good.

I've been doing alot of programmer reading too I'm currently reading "The Art of Concurrency" and got done reading "Real Time Rendering." Alot of my work the last 2 years or so has been distributing jobs across threads both in CPU and GPU land. It's fun stuff but you need to ascribe to good practices or else your code becomes undebuggable.

My son and I went on a road trip and before we left he asked me what book I was listening to. I told him it was about Franz Ferdinand and that was his reaction. He's like I mean their one song is OK but why would someone write a book about them? I just chuckled...

I had him on my "banned list" after he was hit by a van and sued the driver when he seemed to go all goofy. But after yrs. of looking for a good replacement I sadly have come back. Just no one that I have found that can write like he can. I stopped reading him a long time ago as I was disappointed in a lot of his endings. I felt that after investing all that time in reading the books, and enjoying them immensely, the ending would often feel like a let down. Kind of like he realized he needed to wrap things up so he just threw something out there. I remember feeling that way with It, which was great up until the end. I do remember the Stand, Misery and Gerald's Game as having good endings, but drawing a blank on which ones disappointed me. Been a long time. Maybe time enough to try him again.

Have another thick paperback you may be interested in entitled "I,Judas" dealing with Judas life and interactions with the disciples,Christ and the Sanhedrin as written by Judas, but hidden in monasatories by monks due to the controversties which it would cause after being dicovered by an Egyptian Christian monk,Iberias. The previous mentioned book I mentioned to Pastor Marc is loaned to the Pastor of my church. If you would like to read either or both let me know as we reside near each other. Just finished another very interesting book,Davy Crockett As Written by Himself. Was fascinated that there was no mention of his sidekick in the Disney Davy Crockett King of the Wild Frontier series,Geore E. Russell(portrayed by Buddy Ebsen).

If you don't mind my asking, is this something that's real or is it just a book someone put out there with "Judas" on it to sell? Is there anyway to tell? I tend to stay away from books that were said to be part of the biblical books but were dropped or left out because the monks didn't want to offend anyone. I'm very interested in biblical times, but don't want to be reading anything that might not be pleasing to God, if that makes sense.

It appears that there are 2 novels out there with this title. Both are identified as novels, which would indicate a fictional account. I have bought probably 25 books at Ollies. lol I bought a book that I am starting next, called "Has God Spoken", by Hank Hanegraaff. (The Bible Answer Man) It looks interesting, and I got it for $3.99.

'The Bone Tree' by Greg Iles. Follow up to 'Natchez Burning', book 2 of a planned trilogy.
Good stuff. Murder, conspiracy, suspense. Bounces back & forth between present and past/civil-rights era Louisiana and Mississippi. Involves the KKK, FBI & corrupt cops. Some pretty scary bad guys. So far leading the reader to suspect it all links to the Big-3 American assassinations of the 60s (duh) . . .
Learned not too long ago that it will be adapted to a TV Series for Amazon Studios.

The info I can give is the authors are Taylor Caldwell and Jess Stern coyright 1977,first published by Atheneum Publishers Inc in hardback then in paperback by Signet August 1978. The manuscript, written in Greek,is said to found at the Alexandria Library by a monk named Iberias who hid the manuscript in monastaries until it was found in the possession of a German family descendants of a bishop.
