Davis will probably start that game too. If Manziel doesn't start next week, then Pettine is going down with the ship.

How did Davis look?
I refused to watch the game and went out to the gun range instead, so I missed all but the first quarter where he looked decent. His stat line isn't terrible.... how did the rest of his day go?
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

I don't feel so bad... I figured this would be exactly how the game would go... the team I think has packed it in... we've got a bunch of injuries and are playing a bunch of young guys and went up against a team that's battling for the #1 seed in the AFC. I figured we'd get smacked down.
Could nice plays in the game, but overall still pretty pathetic.

I pretty much can't stand Pettine at this point. He is hurting the team for the sake of his ego. There were barely any fans in the stands today and I can't blame them. Who wants to watch a third string QB start.

I'm not a hugePettine fan, but I completely disagree... if you want to be pissed at someone for Manziel not playing then be pissed at Manziel. Kid lied to his coaches and asked his buddies to lie for him. He can ride the pine the rest of the season as far as I care. It's the first time anyone has ever shown him some discipline. Hopefully it'll help wake the kid up though I doubt he's still here next year.

Saw this one coming. Except it was bad, then worse, then this steamy game.

Stats aside. . .took sacks holding it too long, threw a pick after receiver faked inside and turned up instead (not unexpected error considering), two or three intentional grounding penalties, and took a whole bunch of knockdowns each half. Worst offensive line play I have seen yet (I think). We made 'em look like champeens.

Embarrassing game. It doesn't look good for the FO/coaches. I'm afraid you may be right, Memphis. It's one thing to lose; it's another to be embarrassed, and in your own stadium...

Well, I missed the entree game today and just watched the "highlights" video on the Cleveland Browns' homepage...the entire video was just about every TD by Cincinnati receivers wining single coverage battles on our DB's..Williams looks like he got schooled again... The only Browns O play in the feed was Austin's INT .. Wow - I guess the game was as bad as the score showed as also indicated by the comments I am reading... This is exactly how I predicted this season would go. Just was hoping I was wrong. This is actually WAY WAY worse than I thought. This is really an 0-16 football team we just happened to luck into 2 wins. I told anyone that would listen that Farmer has put together one of the worse pro rosters since the 0-16 Lions. This might get even worse before it gets better if it ever gets better. So much for "There's always next year!".

[color:#FFCC33]Clearly the worst team in football.
The Bengals OL dominated the Browns DL.
The most expensive defense in football is by far the worst.
I guess in scouting offensive lineman the Browns do not consider: strength, balance and leverage because Irving has none of those qualities. How he was considered first round material is a mystery.
I believe the game plan was horrible. If the interior DL of Atkins and Peko are getting penetration, roll out. Did they roll out? Not really. They left a rookie OL player to struggle and then they BENCHED him. How is that helping anyone? The coaching staff is in over their heads.

On if he was satisfied with the Browns’ effort:
“Was I satisfied? Absolutely. Pull up the film and find me a guy that didn’t play hard and then go in the locker room and ask him if he played hard. That’s one thing: I thought our guys were flying around, but I give them some credit, too. It’s a good football team.” Pettine press conference

he's pretty much on auto pilot until the end of the season, just like the rest of the team.

I can't waut to read EOTABS was I saw thread. I find it funny how many were claiming the Browns had a top 5 that top 5 this at the start of the season. This is the most talented depleted roster in the NFL.

Pettine has lost it, the guy has suffered some type of nervous breakdown. He seems detached from the reality of the game in his presser.

On Bengals WR A.J. Green’s touchdown catch: “Just a quick note because I wanted to make sure it was out there, too, since no one asked. On the (DB) Tramon (Williams) touchdown, he should have had top help. Sometimes, you see a guy get run by, but he was supposed to be in trail coverage with help over the top. I wanted to make sure I got that out there.” You rolled the other safety down and you think the other is supposed to make to the sideline from the middle of the field to help when Williams let him release outside?

On if the Browns decided before the game that Davis would play the entire game: “If the performance had gotten to the point where we felt like it warranted a change, then we have considered it, but it never got to that point for us.”
20-3 at the half wasn't at that point yet? how about 34-3 in the third quarter..no?

Pettine may be delusional. I'm leaning towards the "spewing company propaganda" angle in an effort to be able to get another job (any job) in the NFL. There's no way he even believes the crap he is spewing right now after these games. Well, that, or his ego is bigger than I ever imagined. Regardless, this clown is gone after this season. Fair enough.
After 55 years, I'm walking away from this dumpster fire. Good luck to everyone who continues to hang on. You'll need it.

i watched his presser, the guy is delusional. The last 20 seconds of the first half says everything one needs to know about Pet.
I would not allow him to finish the week. He would be fired tonight.

I would not allow him to finish the week. He would be fired tonight. There are rumors that he will be. Apparently Haslam is meeting with his senior leadership tonight. What I read implied it was to discuss Pettine's fate. Two things really ticked me off this game... 1. With about 11 minutes left in the second quarter, Pettine wanted to call a timeout. He waited until the play clock read 1 second. Why? It's not that big of a deal, but why was he burning game clock for no reason. Just more odd behavior. 2. With over two minutes to go in the first half and down by 20, the Browns let the play clock run down to the two minute warning. They wasted about 30 to 40 valuable seconds they could have used to try and score a TD. But Pettine was playing for a walk off FG. Why? Isn't the objective to win the game?

Sounds like we is trying to save his buddy O'Neil's job too My first thought was he knows he's lost the locker room, and he didn't want Williams to get trashed by the media and fans. Kind of "Look, I support my guys" kind of thing.
