http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/peyt...kushpmg00000067As part of the investigation, Collins connected with Charlie Sly, a pharmacist based in Austin, Texas, who worked at the Guyer Institute, the Indiana-based anti-aging clinic, in 2011.
Manning missed the 2011 season, when he was a member of the Indianapolis Colts, after undergoing neck surgery. In the documentary, Sly tells Collins, who is taking secret video of his interactions, that he was “part of a medical team that helped [Manning] recover” from the surgery. Sly alleges that the clinic mailed growth hormone and other drugs to Manning’s wife, Ashley Manning, so that the quarterback’s name was never attached to them.
“All the time we would be sending Ashley Manning drugs,” Sly says in the video. “Like growth hormone, all the time, everywhere, Florida. And it would never be under Peyton’s name, it would always be under her name.”
Manning and his wife also came to the clinic after its normal business hours for intravenous treatments, Sly tells Collins on the undercover video.
Manning left the Colts after the 2011 season to sign with Denver. The NFL banned human growth hormone as part of its 2011 collective bargaining agreement with players, but did not begin testing for it until 2014. No player has ever tested positive.
Manning’s agent denied the details of the report to Al Jazeera, calling Sly’s assertions “outrageous and wrong.” But the statement does not deny that growth hormones were shipped to Manning's wife, only insisting that such matters were a matter of medical privacy.
Manning “has never done what this person is suggesting,” his agent told Al Jazeera. “The treatment he received at the Guyer Institute was provided on the advice of his physician and with the knowledge of team doctors and trainers.”
“Any medical treatment received by Ashley is a private matter of hers, her doctor, and her family,” the agent said.
The credibility of the report hinges largely on whether Sly should be believed, or whether he's simply concocting stories to impress Collins. Several details lend significant credibility to Sly's assertions.
First, Sly and the ring he is associated with do, in fact, obtain drugs for Collins, which the network says it retained as evidence.
In a stunning scene, Taylor Teagarden, an eight-year MLB veteran, appears in one of the undercover videos, openly discussing his use of performance-enhancing drugs during the previous season.
Al Jazeera confirmed that Sly did work at the anti-aging clinic that treated Manning; it is difficult to imagine how Sly would have had knowledge of any arrangement to ship drugs to Manning's wife if he were not operating with genuine insider knowledge. (Sly also describes an interaction with Manning, telling Collins that the quarterback is “really cool if you just sit down with him.”)
Collins, in some ways, was the perfect athlete to put at the center of the operation. He's no stranger to the shade, having himself been tied up in a fraud scam in recent years. There is more in the link. The formatting is weird, so I didn't copy and paste the whole thing. James Harrison (shocker), Clay Matthews, Julius Peppers, Dustin Keller, and Mike Neal are the other football players named.

You missed the biggest one to Browns fans: James Harrison.
"Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison is another NFL player he has supplied, Sly says."

http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/1...-rethinking-hghMark Cuban and scUM are doing a study to see if HGH helps with ACL repairs. The study is done over 6 weeks, so nothing crazy. It could also explain the logic behind Manning began using it after his surgery. I hope I can post this link here. I was going to make a topic for it, but it could serve well in here.

I don't really have a problem with an athlete recovering from injury taking HGH.

I don't watch Al Jazeera. But I did look at their website just now. Seems to be a lot of international news.
But I find it weird that a foreign news company breaks this story. Their contacts are surely no one special.

What do you mean? He's trying to sell this guy stuff. He wants to let the guy know he's in safe hands considering the legality of the substance and the medical concerns. He's trying to build trust. It's not that crazy.

PED use in professional (and amateur...) sports is rampant. Heck it is common enough in general society (go to any gym and there will be users, both current and past), high school weight rooms, Hollywood, etc. What you think some of those actors get completely jacked in a few months from weight training and good diet alone? HGH in particular was a free-for-all until very recently in both the NFL and NBA. I believe both started testing for it only in the last year or so! And from what I understand with the NFL test at least, it is supposedly a very lackluster test that they are looking to upgrade on (I have not looked into the NBA tests at all). But even then, the deterrent effect is likely strong and could at least be one consideration in the possible increase in injuries this year, as a player on HGH has greatly enhanced recovery compared to a player who is not on it. There are many players who have been suspended by the NFL for violations of the PEDs policy, and realize that the large majority of those who take them never get caught (due to intelligent cycling of the drugs, masking agents, etc.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_suspensions_in_the_National_Football_LeagueAbout James Harrison, I don't believe he has ever been suspended for PEDs but remember some years back, one of the Steeler's doctors got busted with six-figures worth of HGH. Of course he was not linked to any of the Steelers players (of course) -- I do not think the NFL wanted to down that rabbit hole but that's just pure speculation on my part. One more worthless anecdote: I used to play Madden years ago and while not helpful for specific Xs and Os football knowledge, there were some things that it was good at teaching like players' height, weight, contractual status, pictures. On that last one, I remember making a note that some of the long-time Steelers player looked funny. I mean literally, like oversized and oddly shaped heads and James Harrison is one of them. I personally think that is from years of abusing HGH (it is one of the side effects) but again that is all speculation on my part.

Those are some great images/cartoons.
I have no clue as to how legit or otherwise these claims are relating to Peyton - and as much I detest Harrison for being no more than a dirty thug - I am not going to judge him on some pretty thin 'reporting'.
Number 1 thing that jumped out at me ..... Peyton was so so smart to want to cover up his involvement with this shady practice. Cunningly he had the stuff Mailed to Mrs Manning so Peyton would be in the clear !!! LMFAO. What a Wascally Wabbit !

That's how it's generally done. It gives plausible deniability to Manning. It's pretty much a "It's not mine. It's X's". The documentary airs at 9 PM tonight on Al Jazeera America. I'll be tuning in, but I don't think Al Jazeera will be talking much about the players involved in Sly's comments, but about the medical involvement in it. Al Jazeera actually includes the athletes denying the reports in their write up on the show. http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/20...rts-doping.html

Caught the last 10 minutes of it, but Al Jazeera did a pretty good job at giving everyone the full story. Horribly produced (The accents made it super off putting), but they didn't make Charlie Sly to be more credible than he already is. They did a very fair job from what I could tell in the summary. Can't wait to watch the full thing and see what it's about.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJRPxmTuxoI&feature=youtu.beAl Jazeera posted the documentary on youtube. It doesn't matter, but it's interesting to see Manning hire Ari Fleischer to be his spokesman. Actually it's pretty cool/funny.

Probably heard from Manning's lawyer. Maybe he's just a good guy drug dealer and doesn't want to hurt the athletes. He talked about not giving Clay Matthews a lot of illegal stuff because he's so high profile. But again, this assumes his original statements were true. Which is a big assumption.

But I find it weird that a foreign news company breaks this story. Their contacts are surely no one special. If you read the original article, the investigation is part of a documentary. In the documentary a British Olympic athlete goes undercover to expose a doping ring. Supposedly from an ESPN investigation from crap forgot his name but one of the most respected investigative reporter they got. The source was an unpaid Intern at the lab. He said he made up that list of names to give to the British guy who was doing a story on growth homones in European Soccer and wanted to widen it.
Supposedly this Intern who has since stated that it was all false thought it was a hoax so he made up a list of names that might be believable to the Writer and see if he could trust him..not sure of the trust issues.
Al Jaheer got a hold of it whether it was sold to them or not??? and printed it. They have stated that it is not legit.
Manning is considering a law suit.
That's what I heard on the radio this morning Mike n Mike (with only one Mike there) but they had the NFL ESPN guy on the phone and he had all the inside info. Crap still cant remember his name...I see his face but no name popping up in my brain...sorry.
MORTENSON ahhh remembered it lol

He claimed that he was an intern when treating Manning. Al Jazeera covers both Sly's original allegations and his recanting in their documentary. I watched the documentary. 49 minutes plus. Sly says all kinds of things about many players: Neal, Manning, Matthews, and many others. At the end, Al jazeera has about a 3 -4 second "label" that "sly is recanting his statements". I hardly think that's "dealing" with the 49 minutes of allegations.
