Fun fact: Notre Dame hasn't beaten Ohio State since 1936.

Also we have the #2 scoring defense in college football.

So it hasn't been stated yet but Goff looked really good yesterday. Threw six touchdowns. Fades, slants, posts...you name it. But as someone else stated I wish it was against a better opponent.
After having watched a fair amount of Cal football this year, primarily to watch him, I haven't been a fan. Still don't think he's a top 10 pick though I know he'll be chosen well before then. I don't know that I've ever seen the kid take a snap under center. He throws a lot of bubble screens and such to pad his completion percentages and yards. The Pac12 isn't exactly filled with stout defenses either.
I will say he has the tools but he's no sure thing. JMHO.

I'm currently watching Lynch continue to not impress me. As he has all season. 69% completions is easy when a third of your passes are screens thrown at or behind the line of scrimmage. Big guy, big arm. All shotgun, no NFL throws. Major project.

I loved when the announcers were trying to hype him up before the game, by comparing him to, Brock Osweiler and Collin Kaepernick. First of all, that's a 3rd round pick and a second round pick. Why should a combination of that equate to a first round pick? Lynch is lucky that his defense is keeping him in the game. Memphis is just not ready to play. They gotta let plays develop for longer. Throw more intermediate throws. Right now the defense knows they just have to play press and they'll destroy them.

I know a win or loss is not all on the QB but...
Paxton Lynch 17/38 104yards 2.7average 0TD 1int
Yikes!

Down goes the SEC? I know A&M chased away their two starters, but dang. They're all getting spanked.

They're all getting spanked? The SEC? LSU, Auburn, and Miss State all won big. A&M is the SEC's only lose and that was by 6 with a QB that only attempted 7 total passes this season. I think they have done quite well so far.

I consider the SEC so overrated that beating bad teams doesn't assure me of dominance. SEC always gets easy scheduling during the bowl games.

Good job Wisconsin for holding USC short. But what the hell. Cody Kessler really got screwed over on those last two plays. Kinda sums up his USC career. Dang. He played well though.

The refs almost gave that game to USC when they called that guy for stepping out on that breakaway TD and Wiscy was forced to punt later on that drive. Replays showed the guy was in bounds.

Looks like TCU's qb, Trevone Boykin, isn't going "Bowling" Saturday.

It is insane.

OSU has at least 1 guy, the d lineman.
TCU has 2 - Boykin and Preston Miller.
ND has at least 1.

There are several others, from other teams, that I can't think of off the top of my head.

Just.....odd.

I just don't understand.

I'm not sure what to think. What a bonehead move. Boykin very possibly cost himself millions of dollars in future salary.

Not to mention I'm sure he didn't want to sit out the Alamo Bowl.

I'm seeing out-of-control, spoiled, immature brat.

With North Carolina and Florida State getting beat if Oklahoma beats Clemson the ACC will take a huge hit in National perception.

The Pac Ten also will look bad if Iowa beats Stanford with UCLA and USC both losing.

Has not been a good bowl season for either conference so far.

I don't get it. After Stanford wins tomorrow how are they going to have three teams in the championship game?

Clearing looking like MSU doesn't belong in the playoff game against Alabama.

Pathetic effort by MSU and Cook alike in this game, not even competitive. Definitely do not want us drafting him. Would have been a better game if OSU was in this one instead.

We would have been a much better matchup with Alabama. A healthy dose of Zeke and a couple Barrett quick jump passes would have put a stop to that pass rush.

Call me bitter, but if the weather is 48 and partly sunny that day in Columbus, tOSU wins by 2 scores. I'm not saying we would have beaten Alabama, but I think we would be closer than this garbage semifinal.

The INT just before half was the killer. Getting at least 3 points would have been good, getting 7 sends a message. But throwing a pick was a game crushing outcome. Bama scores early in the 3rd and that ended up being a 14-pt swing.

Too bad. Both CFP games were duds.

OSU loses to Bama, but by 7-10 points.

General question for the college football guys...

What do you make of Goff's OC's statement? I don't think I've ever seen that before. Kind of unusual, no? Trying to drum up interest for his guy?
