Yeah, a pretty decent, and fair, article. I think there are some inaccuracies to some things mentioned, but overall, not bad.
Definitely, think he got the Dansby vs. Jackson thing wrong. That, and LomBanner didn't hire Pettine. Haslem did... "IMO".

I suppose it is if you like fantasies that are written to support a particular opinion. Translation: My opinion, which is based mostly on my #agenda that Mangini and Banner are gone (who I wrongly went "all in" on) made me look bad, I'll naturally hate those in charge of the people that replaced them. Anything that removes Farmer from 100% blame from personnel decisions, I just can't handle. I know everything, just like telling clevesteve he was stupid for thinking David Carr could never be an NFL quarterback. It's the Versatile Dog way!

That is the rumor going around. Haslem is cleaning house, and hiring a consultant/prez of football ops to setup organization. I hope it comes true.....maybe Jimmy is learning.

I can't say it is not true, but Cabot's reports has more failure than truth! This will be a tough pill to swallow if Haslam cleans house. If so, it'll be interesting what direction Haslam thinks this team will go. I'm not looking forward to it. Good players are in position to bail. I can't see a quality leadership crew signing. Browns are not in a good way. When Haslam bought the club, he appeared to have football sense. Based on his decisions, he is about as clueless as Learner Jr.. At least Learner stated he wasn't interested. Sad thing Haslam preaches he is a football junkie. Sigh...smh!

I vision Haslam struggle getting anyone to interview. You remember the homeless guy who recommended Manziel, he maybe our next HC/GM!!!!

Hey dont underestimate those Tenn women's football knowledge. By all accoutns, Dee is very knowledgeable and is one of those no nonsense personalities. Hey i liked the show she did on how the Browns prep for road trips anyway lol But seriously, i dont see her involvement as a bad thing.

well we have had all these male owners screwing it up since the 80s might as well let a woman have a shot. Hell she could probably coach and gm to a 3 win season without breaking a sweat lol

IMO, that was a very good read by MKC. Whether she is correct or not about the firings, only Jimmy has a handle on that. While I like Pettine, and particularly Flip, what is ultimately best for the team is what I want to happen...

I hate when somebody poses their interpretation of my opinion. I thought that post was a little beneath you.
jmho
Farmer picking his own HC...we went down this path before actually I think Savage was so confident that he would prevail and be able to bring in his Coach of choice (Ferentz) so he threw RAC under the bus - the guy who stuck up for Savage in the Power struggle with Whats his name...
Instead Savage got canned...he should have supported RAC more with his moves. Now we got Farmer again in that same situation. So it is evident that they did not work well together as in getting talent here. Instead of going all out for Marshall we went and got Bowe.
Moves like that...is that his subtle way to sabotage Pettine? like Savage did with RAC to get his guy in? What is odd is that it is possible that RAC might be his guy?

A complete blow up again? Haslam is a [profanity removed] and a liar. #1 Priority when he came here is the STEELER way that he learned is to have continuity. Well here it is we are on our 3rd Coach and GM and NEW REGIME....dumb ass.
Get this freaking right - what a shmuck if he blows this up totally.

I never considered Haslem a Steelers guy. Sure, he was a minority owner but had nothing to do with daily operations nor was he anywhere near close to the nitty-gritty of how things were done. It's more like he owned stock in a company. He owned a good chunk but had nothing to do with running the company.

We finally agree on the guys at the top.
Haslam gives Banner, Lombardi, and Chud/coaching staff one year, then gives Farmer and Pet/coaching staff two years.
I think changes needed to be made, but these complete blow-ups are more damaging than anything else.

Just going by his first PRESSER when he bought the team...bragging about what he LEARNED from hanging around the Steelers. HIS words to us the fans and his PROMISE with us. How's that continuity shaping up that was promised. Again...liar and total dumb ass if he blows it up again.
Shameful if you ask me.

I'd have total confidence in Haslam if he hired Condoleezza Rice as President of Football Operations.

Bro............I'm tired of it. For real. I concur Vers, it wears me out to think of how many times we have tried what it seems we are yet again ready to do. That said, I can NOT believe myself I'm about to say this but I stick it out when good sense and disappointment at the moves that have been made tell me move on. If you believe as I do that roster flipping is the culprit to our continued misery then you can bet your last dollar that if we flip the FO/coaching staff roster flipping is almost guaranteed. The roster flipping concerns me much more then whether Text or Pet remain. We have nearly run out of roster spots to flip with this group so now its time to honker down and see what comes from it. In other words give it time and see if it comes together. Key to that IMO is to stop the flipping add to what has been done to date and see what comes from it. Text is about as poor at drafting as I can remember, its just that bad, but if it means another purge I say stand pat we may lose another year to these guys but I want to give it a go. Haslam can choose to do what has failed oh so many times or he can bring some actual stability to the team. Its not just that though, in a war for coaching talent the Browns will come out losers that I'm 1000% sure of. When you add it all up giving it one more go with this group is preferable.. I have to leave now so I can wash my mouth out with soap... JMHO

Bro, it is and has been shameful for quite some time now - even under the Randy Lerner era. I'm beginning to think we are just really cursed. It's the only logical thing that explain the endless list of busted draft picks, regime changes, owner changes and to really make a long story short - the only thing consistent we've accomplished is losing. JMO of course.

I am really about done w/this franchise. On the bright side, many of you will be happy to see me gone. You're not going anywhere. You're a lifer. I've followed this team for 45 years. I will always hope for the best for the Browns. However, it may be time to move on and root for a team that actually knows what it is doing organizationally and on the field. I want to be happy on Sundays again. I want the team that I follow to be a factor during the season. I want a chance to be a factor in the playoffs and have a chance to win the Super Bowl. I don't think that is too much to ask going forward.
After 55 years, I'm walking away from this dumpster fire. Good luck to everyone who continues to hang on. You'll need it.

A pattern would suggest the next team gets 3 years. Or 1. Shurmur was fired after 2 years ... Chud after 1 ..... and Pettine appears doomed after 2 ...so the next guy gets 1 year. Haslam will scowl and complain that no one can get the job done in Cleveland, and clean house again. The following year he will do what he "should have done all along", and fire the groundskeeper and scoreboard operator, and create a new team song. Go Browns.

Bro............I'm tired of it. For real. You and I have disagreed on things from time to time, but we are absolutely on the same page on this. I am sired of having the Browns be the comic relief on the national news shows. I am tired of the team blowing everything up every year or 2. I am tired of hearing how they have all of these "plans" to go get a huge name, only to see a coordinator brought in instead. I am tired of drafting players only to completely change schemes so we have to dump them for nothing a year or 2 later. I am sick of no one being able to dare to develop players, because they will get the hook if they don't win enough. I am sick and tired of the perpetual losing, not because people don't try, and not because they aren't even good enough, but because ownership gets in a snit every year or 2 and blows things up. I truly almost wish that the Browns had never come back in 1999. Then I would have had great memories, and would have moved on by now. As it is, the team stinks, and every time we have something happen that looks like it could be a positive, it turns out to be a truck full of crap instead. Bleh. I am really fed up.

From our old friend Vic Carucci: Heard #Browns Executive VP/General Counsel Sashi Brown could be in line to take over team's football operation. Very analytics-driven. https://twitter.com/viccarucci/status/683779066378498049Interviewing Sashi Brown would also fulfill the Rooney Rule (if it applies to the front office).

From Business Insider: As a young associate at the Washington, D.C., law firm Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, Sashi Brown didn’t go looking for sports work so much as it found him.
“I wish I could tell you there was some well-thought-out, sophisticated plan, but there really wasn’t,” Brown said. “I was doing traditional corporate work. Venture capital and private equity. I got an opportunity to start working on some sports transactions.
“It piqued my interest.”
When Brown started at Wilmer in 2002, its corporate practice was headed by Dick Cass, now president of the Baltimore Ravens and whose sports work included Jerry Jones’ purchase of the Dallas Cowboys, the sale of the Washington Redskins to Dan Snyder, and Steve Bisciotti’s purchase of the Ravens. Brown did some work on Bisciotti’s buyout of Art Modell to complete his purchase of the team, as well as on the sale of a minority interest in Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment and on some sponsorship contracts for the Dallas Cowboys.
“I started peeking under the hood of what clubs deal with day to day, what makes some good or bad, and at some league issues,” Brown said. “It was all interesting to learn about.”
Brown left the firm in 2005 for an in-house counsel job with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He made the move to Cleveland in 2013. With the Browns, he has expanded his responsibilities to include both business and football, dealing with sponsor, media and facility negotiations as well as cap management issues.
“I really enjoy both sides of the business,” Brown said. “As I move forward, I would hope to continue in that sort of role and not get pushed to either side.” http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Journal/Issues/2015/03/30/Forty-Under-40/Sashi-Brown.aspxIf Sashi Brown is promoted, then I would guess Scheiner is toast.
