http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/01/04/browns-may-have-made-it-harder-to-hire-a-g-m/

Reported last night.

Because Sashi Brown has control over the 53-man roster, the Cleveland G.M. position doesn’t qualify for the portion of the tampering policy that allows a team to hire as G.M. someone currently working for another team, without permission from that team.

Damn.... we got an article on us from NBC Sports with a title that could have been one of the better ones from The Onion.

The only thing I want out of Sashi is to remove players of questionable character, questionable work ethic, from consideration in FA/Draft.

It is that simple. The stupidity of the last couple of seasons is because of reaches and questionable personnel moves approved by upper management. It is that simple. You need to find football players not marketing dolls.

Hire Joe Thomas or Peyton Manning as Director of Player Personnel... They would do far better than any of the trash that has been in place. Even the casual observer knew there was a disconnect between Farmer and Pettine. Let the coach have the 53.... If a player is brought in and can't perform that is on the GM, not the coach... Admit it and move on.

Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!…. That did not age well.

Just watched Haslam's presser last night. He avoided the Manziel questions like the plague. Think the owners body language tells us all we need to expect in terms of JF/Billy's future in Cleveland.

When he's cut or traded, it's a good bye and good riddance departure for me. We have to be better in the pre draft process and eliminate the talent that the attitude doesn't live up to. Gilbert and JF both have piss poor attitudes.

At least Erving is trying to improve and is still a team player. Horrible first round selections, just horrible.

My new year's resolution is not to give in to calling the new guy Sushi. So far, so good.

Whatever works. We haven't just been bad, we have been inflexible bad across multiple coaches. Bad judgments are kept in place, and we refuse to change our ways. Loyalty to bad decisions hurt us on the sideline and cheated us out of wins. Especially on defense. No pressure to speak of, a premium on pass rushers being able to cover, cover guys with huge cushions, abominable tackling, no corner contain, etc. Stressing "etc." What got coached out, coached up? Failure to adjust and adapt is Doom in the NFL. Just maddening to see repeats of the awful every week.

Do fewer things and do them better.

I like Goff but not that high. I want nothing to do with Cook or Lynch. My preference is to take the BPA at 2 and take a QB later in the draft.....say rounds 2-4. I like Wentz if the value is decent.
