We need to get him in house and speaking to Hue. That ball was and is in JF court. He and you and the world knows he has been a huge FU. No way other then that to say it. If there is anything to salvage here Johnny needs to be the guy who takes the 1st step. Instead he has opted to continue with the party, and that is his clear choice. No its time to cut bait admit we made a huge mistake and move on. Sorry to say but it was a waste continuing it just undermines our future. JMHO

memp...I missed this yesterday...
I have given this some thought and there is "a possibility" that the Browns are being "played" by Manziel and his girlfriend, over and over, in an attempt to get released by the Browns.
But I don't know what the Browns do if they believe that is the case. Bottom line, Manziel does not want to play in Cleveland. I might call you out on this in another time, but with JM, it could very well be possible. The guy is pretty calculated. peen...we may not have suffered the ultimate humiliation yet. Brace yourself for a ton of negative stuff about the Browns if Manziel gets picked up by another team.
I'm sure we are going to hear how dysfunctional the Browns have been since Manziel came to Cleveland...we need to brace for that, knowing the source.
If it turns out that Manziel suddenly settles down being in Texas or some place close, it won't be a shock to me. Whatever Manziel deals with between the ears, how complex the disorder may sound, ultimately Manziel may be suffering from homesickness...being homesick for familiar surroundings.
jmho
I don't know if Manziel is that smart. But, there is another thought to throw out there. WE all know that Lebron James PR Firm has basically kicked him to the curb. Could it be that besides the obvious, there is another reason, like maybe Mac is right and he's planned this and Lebron didn't want any part of it? Wow, that's a whole lotta nothing LOL

JF spotted at the Dallas bball game, declined interview about situation but offered to talk about the Mavs basketball team.
Lmfao, what a joke. Espn reporter indicated that Dallas fans don't want JF. If Jerry gets overruled, I'm not sure what team would bring in the troubled kid.
PS, looks like nfl.com doesn't care to cover Manziel much anymore, like they're fed up with him too. During his latest event, I don't recall one article published there. I only seen one article regarding the Browns wanting to part ways/Browns comments. I get they're covering the SB but it's funny they'd pass up a chance to publish Manziel articles which looks to be the case.

I believe James' PR firm made their decision based on Manziel's conduct.

If he got back on track and showed similar improvement that he did last season...we would be able to trade him in the middle of training camp. For a lot more than a 7th rounder. Even if he gets "back on track," what team is going to give up anything for a guy who has not proven anything on the field and is a mess off the field? And they know we don't want him. We didn't release him so the KNOW we don't want him is off the table. KC, Dallas and maybe a couple of other teams would be interested. If there is demand in any world or business - the price goes up. I'm not talking 2nd rounder mind you 3rd to 5th...but at least more than a 7th. Its not a big deal just it would mean your 7th round statement would be wrong...I get it. Not going to banter back and forth on this. I said my peace if you agree or not so be it.
Yeah of course nobody likes to waste a pick. So does everyone else. Which is why they won't trade any for Manziel. He just a sunk cost.

what bothers me is we took no QB last year to develop when there was a very good chance this would happen. Who? Hundley? Grayson? Bryce Petty? well yea... i was a big one on the texans guy that played johnny but yea// someone... instead what o we havve? I'd rather have Austin Davis than any of those other guys. So... I guess we did.

I believe your latest conspiracy theory holds zero merit. Your theory is suggesting that JFF would damage his reputation beyond repair across the entre NFL. It would insure that no team will offer him more than league minimum once he's cut. That no team will truly trust him. That's a virtual death sentence to his career.
No, JFF is his own worse enemy and it's who he is, not some conspiracy to get out of Cleveland.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

We didn't release him so the KNOW we don't want him is off the table. We literally cannot release Manziel. I'm not stupid...in my scenario we DID NOT RELEASE HIM and he was in TRAINING CAMP it is there maybe 2 weeks into Training camp and all the reports are coming in how improved Manziel is from last season and has taken a serious approach...pretty much like he always did once football started.
ergo my trade scenario better than 7th rounder
I am quite aware of the cap situation if we release him now the first date will be 3/9 title of this thread...come on man this wasn't a DUH moment for me.
Stop trying to pull straws out of your butt and just say the words....yeah I guess so...lol

Crowley told police Manziel "restrained" in some manner and "led" her down a back stairway to the valet area. "I was crying and begged the valet, 'Please don't let him take me. Either way, it sounds like he should be suspended at the very least.

Not if the valet can corroborate.

Not if the valet can corroborate. True. https://twitter.com/NateUlrichABJ/status/695401948640444417But the case is now closed. The NFL is still looking into the situation though. My guess is that going to have a very well timed drug test in the coming weeks.

Has anything in the past two years suggested to you that this is far fetched? The kid has a drug problem, Ryan Leaf 2.0. I gave up on Manziel after the 2nd year in a row he blew off week 17.
Moving on.

Report: Johnny Manziel denies he threatened to kill Colleen Crowley and himself, or that he struck her Link By Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com Follow on Twitter on February 04, 2016 at 7:13 PM, updated February 04, 2016 at 7:56 PM SAN FRANCISCO -- Johnny Manziel's ex-girlfriend Collen Crowley told police that Manziel told her to "shut up or I'll kill us both" during an argument Saturday morning, according to News 8 in Dallas.
The ABC affiliate learned exclusive details of the altercation after Fort Worth police released their police report and 911 call to cleveland.com and other outlets on Thursday.
Sources told cleveland.com that the Browns will waive Manziel as soon as they're able to -- on March 9. The Browns also released a statement Tuesday from Executive Vice President of Football Operations Sashi Brown saying "Johnny's continual involvement in incidents that run counter to those expectations undermines the hard work of his teammates and the reputation of our organization. His status with our team will be addressed when permitted by league rules. We will have no further comment at this time."
The team has not commented on today's developments.
The police report states that Crowley told police that Manziel struck her several times, including on the ear, and that he seemed to be on drugs.
Manziel told TMZ Sports that he did not strike Crowley, saying "It didn't happen." He also said that he did not threatened to kill her or himself during the dispute.
"I'm completely stable. I'm safe and secure,'' he told the site. According to the police report, Crowley would not let police photograph her injuries and became uncooperative. Manziel said "I have great things coming ahead" but wouldn't elaborate. "I know I've been having fun but I just need to get my body right. I'm 100% committed to playing football."

Why is that one part in such large font and not this part? Manziel said "I have great things coming ahead" but wouldn't elaborate. "I know I've been having fun but I just need to get my body right. I'm 100% committed to playing football."

I have moved another Manziel thread regarding his off the the field issues from this forum to the appropriate forum, which is Tailgate. Every thread started about Manziel in this forum has dissolved into discussing topics not in the realm of pure football.
I am closing this thread. Feel free to discuss this in the Tailgate thread.
