I have always thought that Michael Thomas was the best WR coming out in this draft and now I see I'm not alone with Walter Football now having him ranked as their top WR ... I would love to see him in Orange and Brown ... Thoughts?

Michael Thomas*, WR, Ohio State
Height: 6-3. Weight: 212.
Projected 40 Time: 4.50.
Projected Round (2015): 1-2.

1/9/16: In 2015, Thomas had 56 receptions for 781 yards and nine touchdowns this year. He impressed in the season opener with his battling of Virginia Tech cornerback Kendall Fuller. After moving the chains on a third down, Thomas burned Fuller for a 26-yard touchdown on a stop-and-go that Fuller bit on.

Thomas has an impressive combination of size and speed. He could be the most well-rounded prospect at his position. Thomas can make plays in all levels of the defense. His numbers were suppressed by Ohio State's offense and quarterback situation.

He is very good but the Browns will go QB at #2 and there is no way the top WR is still there at #32.. so liking him is fine, hoping he ends up on the Browns is highly unlikely.

well, the opinions on these WRs differ... CBS has Thomas ranked at #35 for example. He could definitely be available at 32.

I would not be offended at all if we took QB at #2 and the best WR at #32 if both were worth it... I'd love to get a pass rusher too but you can't get everything in one draft...

I'm just glad we waited out the last two drafts. Now that all the other teams have drafted their wide receivers, we can get whoever we want.

Wide receivers drafted in 2014 & 2015:

Sammy Watkins, Mike Evans, Odell Beckham, Brandin Cooks, Kelvin Benjamin, Jordan Matthews, Allen Robinson, Jarvis Landry, Donte Moncrief, John Brown, Martavis Bryant, Amari Cooper, DeVante Parker, and Tyler Lockett (I'm sure others I did not mention will emerge in 2016 as well.)

Wide receivers we drafted in 2014 & 2105:

Vince Mayle

The only other one that I can think of that has been fairly productive is Stefon Diggs, who was taken 22 spots AFTER we took Mayle...

Good lord that is awful. And all of us were begging for a WR but Farmer knew better.

I cannot see a scenario where he is available at 32. Especially if he runs well at the combine.

I am a huge Buckeye fan and I like Thomas, but I don't think he is a game-changer in the mold of Jones, Beckham Jr, Green, etc. I think he will be a solid receiver, but I would not spend a first round pick on him.

I think cfrs made a really good point earlier, but it may have been missed by some because he was being sarcastic:

Do you realize how many good WRs we have missed out on and that this year's class is quite a bit weaker? Man!

I wouldn't pick Thomas over Braxton in 4 years. It's a crazy thing to say, but I'll say it. I think Braxton will be the better WR over time.

Is Braxton Miller named after the singer or the uterine contraction?

This is important!

If his middle name is Hicks, we've got our answer.

I still say taking a QB out of this class at #2 is a reach when there so many other top 10 payers available

He has everything you want, he runs good routes, he high points the ball, he has good hands.

If he runs well at the combine, I think he'll be the 2nd WR off the board. I think he was very under utilized at OSU compounded by the QB issues we had this past year.

Ray Farmer jobbed us out of at least a high end WR, any first round WR instead of Justin Gilbert or Manziel would have been good at minimum.

How do you know this?

Well, it's either one of three ways...

1. I am secretly Sashi Brown and have been posting as a nobody from DC and then NC for many years.. so many in fact that I started before I even went to work for the Browns...

or...

2. I have secretly installed hidden microphones in Berea and I am privy to all of the internal conversations and I'm just reporting what I heard...

or...

3. It's just my opinion... and I forgot how anal everybody here is about stating it's just your opinion even when the only possible explanation is that it's just an opinion.

You decide.

So did Brian Robiskie.

No, he did not. Robiskie was never good at Ohio state, Brian Hartline was.

Same with Devier Posey, he was never good, Sanzenbacher was.

Thomas is good.
