I loved the game last night. Love was a rebounding machine. Couldn't went without watching JR shove, he just can't control himself, but whatever.

A few thoughts about the game and the trade:
--Cavs played well on offense last night.
--LeBron was active and didn't monopolize the ball.
--Kyrie is a terrible defender. It's embarrassing.
--I think TT is the Cavs most valuable player in certain regards. The guy is relentless, and Gasol got most of his numbers when TT went out and Moz came in.
--Shump looked good last night. JR did not.
--Did anyone hear Barkley's take on the trade? It was almost the same as the one I posted yesterday afternoon. It's dumb to try and recreate Golden State's roster w/guys who aren't as talented. The way to beat GS is to make them pay inside. Getting a Frye and cutting an Andy does not accomplish that.

Reggie Miller doesn't understand what journalism is and just called someone a "scaredy cat." He's not a journalist, he's a color commentator for the NBA..

I actually like Reggie Miller. Used to hate him as a player, but have grown to respect his intelligence and integrity as an announcer.

Don't think I saw this posted, but since Anderson was cut, can't we bring him back like we did with Z and the Jamison trade? There is a rule in place that doesn't allow players who are waived to re-sign with the team that traded them for a calendar year. Which is idiotic, because, what if no other team wants to sign them at all? They then just have to sit at home ... for no real good reason. It's because teams and players were taking advantage of the system. Many times players would already know they were going to re-sign with the team that traded with them before the trade was even completed. http://espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3247183Also, if a player can't get signed to a minimum contract by 29 teams in the league, then what does that say about that player? I get that. We did it with Z. Regardless, if a guy is sitting at home for weeks, he ought to be able to take a job if someone has one for him .... even if it's his old team. I am actually stunned that the players union went for this. I could see if a guy cannot take the an offer from his old team, if another team also wants to sign him. However, if he has no other options, then he ought to be able to go back to his original team, instead of not being able to play at all. The rule is in place BECAUSE of what we did with Z. It should probably be called the Z-rule. At any rate, if a player can't get a min-contract job with the 29 other teams, he should probably consider retiring, not resigning with the team that's trying to get a championship. If the Cavs want him on the bench that badly, they should just sign him on as an assistant coach.

I think people look at this years GS team, and think thats the team we played in the Finals last year.
Its not really. They are on another level this year. Last season, they were a really good team, who (only) beat us because we were down two of our best players.
In general, I think we have (more than) enough talent to win the NBA Championship this season.
Yes, even if we have to play GS.
We have not played to our full potential yet, and thats what it would take.
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

I also think the Cavs have not played to their full potential (or effort) yet. For better or worse, that has been a hallmark of Lebron's teams in the regular season for the last 5 years or so. There is another gear that you just don't see until the playoffs and sometimes even well into the playoffs.
GS or SA will be favorites in the finals for sure, barring injury or something really unexpected, but the Cavs have the second best Vegas odds to win a championship for a reason.

OKC sucks versus the East. They've reached Bulls level of being overhyped every year because people like watching them play. Being an exciting team doesn't make you a title contender.

There are rumors that the Celtics tried to trade for Jimmy Butler yesterday. I'm sure Boston "tried" to trade for a lot of people. Probably the same way they tried to trade for Kevin Love .... "Hi Chicago, this is Boston, we'd like to see if you would take some of our guys for Jimmy Bu-*click* ... hello?"

GS loses to Portland by 32!
That team is falling apart. Time for Kerr to go and promote Walton to full time HC.

I'm gonna let you guys on a little secret.....
Steph Curry sucks on defense. It's why Damian took a dump on them last night. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The best shot Cleveland has is matching up like this on defense:
Steph vs Shump Klay vs JR Iggy vs Kyrie Barnes vs Love Green vs LBJ
We need JR and Shump not to be awful like last year. You live with Iggy going off. As great as Draymond Green is, he's not going a 7 game series matching up with Lebron. He's gonna get worn down really quickly. If you exhaust the Warriors front court, they won't feel like switching which is what makes them good,

I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Kyrie sucks on defense even worse than Curry.
And any lineup that does not include TT is whacked.

Did any of you see Andy's letter to the fans? If not, here it is: Dear Cavs Fans Everywhere,
For the last 12 years, I have had the honor of representing the city of Cleveland and the Cavaliers organization, and for that I will forever be grateful. Coming over from Spain at the young age of 21 was a difficult transition, but as soon as I put on a Cavs jersey and stepped on the court, I felt at home.
There were seasons we played well together, and there were seasons we struggled together. We had playoff runs, and we had championship runs. Over the last 12 seasons we have had many ups and downs, but no matter the product on the court one thing never changed… The unwavering support from all of you, the fans.
Whether you were watching on TV, listening to the radio, or in the Q screaming at the top of your lungs, we felt your energy and support. Cleveland fans are simply the best.
There is nothing like walking on the streets on a freezing cold day and hearing fans scream your name, then stopping to talk to those same fans. There is nothing like looking into the crowd and seeing over 20,000 people wearing wigs to match your hair. That's a feeling I will cherish for the rest of my life and never forget.
In a similar way to how Brazil holds a special place in my heart, Cleveland has also become a part of me. I consider everyone in the organization as family - from ownership, the entire front office, all of the coaches I have had over the years, and every single employee from top to bottom - thank you.
The city of Cleveland is truly a special place.
I have seen players and coaches come and go, but through it all I have always known Cleveland is where I want to retire. But life doesn't always work the way you want it to, and at the end of the day, the saying 'this is a business' is unfortunately true.
So with that, I say goodbye. But more importantly, I say thank you. Thank you for your support. Thank you for coming out every night whether we were winning or losing. And thank you for giving me the best 12 years of my life.
Home is where the heart is, and my heart will forever be in Cleveland.
Anderson Varejao What a great guy. Also...........did you guys see where Golden State might sign him if he clears waivers?

Random and off topic, but the more I hear about what's going on in Rio, the less I want ANY Cavs player participating. USA doesn't need Lebron, Kyrie or Love. There's no real competition like in past olympics. Spain is only getting worse as the Gasol brothers get older. Lithuania maybe?
Guys like Curry, Durant, Westbrook, Kawhi are more than enough.

Sources: Warriors are favorite to sign Anderson Varejao
Marc Stein ESPN Senior Writer
The Golden State Warriors have emerged as the heavy favorite to sign soon-to-be free agent Anderson Varejao, according to league sources.
League sources told ESPN.com that Varejao is leaning strongly toward joining the Warriors after he clears waivers Sunday at 5 p.m.
Sources say that the veteran big man, who spent the first 11 1/2 seasons of his career with the Cavaliers until being traded Thursday, has narrowed his choices down to Golden State and San Antonio after also attracting offers from, among others, Oklahoma City, Atlanta and the Los Angeles Clippers.
That would certainly take the sting out of a finals loss to the Warriors.

That's OKC in a nutshell. Westbrook does an exciting dunk, but Della drives right at him and scores. They're just a flashy fun team.

That's the difference in confidence between Waiters and JR. JR is the king of no damns given.

there was an espn 5 for 5 article saying who had the better big 3 between the two, okc or cleveland.
kyrie aint even playing and it's an absolute slaughter. we scored 93 and the 4th quarter hasn't even started yet.

I think we're seeing how good love can be when we actually try to involve him, he was huge tonight, TT was getting worked over by adams early but settled down and had a really good game too. OKC is just put together horribly. Our bigs did whatever they wanted

Should Kyrie be a 6th man? A smart coach would start him and then manipulate his minutes so that he plays like a sixth man.
