that article was funny to me. that was said in jest, as i'm not worried about a war with russia.
it won't happen. regardless of who is president.
Hilary is fine bro. you worry your little heart about this brokered convention coming up. imma sip some tea.

So one benefit of moving away from Ohio, people don't talk as much politics, which is nice, because I find them divisive. What I have read, is that older and the less educated are a big portion of those standing behind him. I can't believe that we are having a conversation about trump as president.
I'm a staunch democrat, but even I believe Kasich would make a fine president, mainly because I believe in the ideology that two parties presenting different ideas in the us is a good thing. At least I thnk that's what Lincoln said. Anyways, if I were a republican, I would be absolutely ashamed of running Trump out there. Take your hate elsewhere.

I will say this credit scores can say a lot about a person, however they can also be so very wrong about telling you about a person.
when I first got married at a young age my score was ZERO. I got that score into the high 700's, then got hurt when I was self employed and my score dropped into the low 400's. I got it back into the 700's then my wife got hurt and was off work for 9 months. Our score dropped back into the high 400's. We got our scores back into the mid 700's then we signed for a butt load of student loans for our kids and we dropped into the mid to low 600's again. Today after being off work for 15 months my score stands at a 848 (I had to buy another car today as the deqalership is taking the demo back that they were so kind to let me drive for 15 months while I wasn't working. Anyway my score could go back into the dumper in a year if I am forced to remain on SSDI instead of being able to go back to work. I have seen this same story with 10's of thousands of people over the years, and just like me a lot of them never changed, just their scores did. It's really tough being on disability, and having a ton of medical bills. I have managed to deal with most of my medical bills, but there is one out there that I wanted to make payments that I could actually make on it, but the hospital didn't want to hear it. I sent in a little bit every time I got a bill anyway. Monday it went to collections, and went on my credit report. My score took a 53 point hit. *Sigh*

It's really tough being on disability, and having a ton of medical bills. I'm on 100% disability through the VA for a service connected issue. They provide all my healthcare. The healthcare is a blessing though I'd rather not have it in exchange for not needing it. The past 20 years my quality of life has taken a serious nosedive I've had rather done without. My credit score is 0 with all three credit bureaus. I have no bad marks on my credit. But I have never bought anything on credit, deciding instead to buy only what I could afford to pay for in cash. So there's no record of me paying on time other than my rent and utilities. Does that hurt me? Not so far as I can see. One reason I chose this route is that I've seen far too many folks buy homes and new cars/boats/toys, etc. and then lose a great paying job which then sent them into a tailspin of which several never recovered. They still owe the money although they have nothing. I'm relatively free of the stress of keeping up or holding on. I've never been into that type of motivation anyway. Rather than being motivated by the fear of losing the things I've amassed through credit I've chosen to be motivated by my interest in my trade. It hasn't paid as much as I could have made had I joined the rat race but the satisfaction, for me, has been based on doing a good job at something I love, not by having all the amenities or all the toys. I know that sounds old fashioned. There was a time when everything was not based on credit and debt and that seemed much more appealing to me. All my life I've been happy and content with what I have. Six months ago I bought a $5000 vehicle. I own it outright. I can't imagine what I could do with a brand new car that I can't do with this one. I don't have the status I would have with the latest, greatest, coolest ride but I've never been drawn to that anyway. Nor am I impressed by those who do have the latest, greatest, coolest. It's all so vain to me. I've thought that way since I was a kid. I'm about to purchase a burial plot and advance pay for the funeral services. Natural burial, no concrete burial vault, laid to rest at a forest reserve in a wooden box like they bury the Pope in. And I won't be embalmed, (it's not necessary nor required by law). The cost is half of that spent on the typical funeral. In the end my family will receive the small bit I've saved up and will not be burdened with my credit bills. Serene and content. That's what I get for a credit score of 0.

So did you pay cash for your house too?
I too live in a similar manner. Just with a credit score over 800. Why? Because I use credit cards like cash. Meaning I only use them if I have the cash to back it. Every month I pay my card off in full and still earn airline miles along the way. I do drive a new car but I drive as part of my job and can't afford to be stranded by an unreliable ride. No ride=no paycheck. The rest of my life I live below my means in an 1174sqft house. One I'll have paid off in 12 more years.

Love using my credit card to get free cash! 1.75% on all purchases, pay off at end of month. Have a house payment and car payment and that's it. Credit 800+ as well. Plan on paying my car off next month probably.

Oi. I've still got about 3 years on my car. No complaints. 1.9% interest. I'll pay it off earlier than my loan's term. No complaints. I love it. The oil has only been changed once. It's that new.
Let's try to get this thread back to the Primaries.

There isn't a candidate left that I have any inclination to vote for. They all have huge warts but if the republican party thinks they can make Trump sign a pledge that he won't run as an independent but try to change the rules of the game mid-stream to keep him from getting the nomination they may as well just close up shop because no one will ever believe them about anything again.

Fair enough. However, I would be about as ashamed of Hillary... The Democrats sent a very loud message this week and that message is that they think things in Washington are going just fine and we should stick with what we've been doing for decades.... because that's Hillary.

I believe that many, MANY people feel as columbus does- that his goals are noble, but his strategy sux. Prediction: after 4 more years of 'the same ol'," folks will be looking for a more digestible, gradual 'revolution' than the one Bernie proposes for 2016. For many folks, it's simply a case of 'too much, too soon.' Radical change scares people... and it's hard to blame them. .02

I believe that many, MANY people feel as columbus does- that his goals are noble, but his strategy sux. I agree with that.. Bernie's end game sounds great, free healthcare, free education, good paying jobs for everybody, a chicken in every pot, guaranteed secure retirement... I mean who couldn't get behind that? Problem is I think many people are quite concerned that his plan to achieve that doesn't get us where he thinks it does. I saw a graph the other day of the voting distribution of the under 30 crowd.. it was like 400K for Cruz, 550K for Trump, 600K for Hillary... and 1.5 million for Bernie. I get that the younger crowd is wide-eyed and idealistic and believes him when he says things are "free" and that they believe that the rich will continue to work just as hard to keep half of their stuff while giving the rest away to pay for all of this free stuff... I just don't think the majority of folks who have had jobs, owned businesses, employed people, worked hard to save money, lost money, remade money... believe that is going to happen.

The hippie generation ended up changing a lot. Civil Rights, more protections for women, and now we're seeing same-sex marriage deemed okay, and now marijuana is getting decriminalized.
My generation, when holding these offices, I think will find a way to go with all Bernie wants. There's a way to figure it all out.

I just don't think the majority of folks who have had jobs, owned businesses, employed people, worked hard to save money, lost money, remade money... believe that is going to happen. But we give free things to businesses and corporation daily some we know about many more are given away behind closed doors, yet the thought of actually giving something away for free to our fellow citizens in an effort to make their lives better and everyone does an about face. Somehow the mind set is we don't deserve it and that is the fundamental thing that needs to change. If a business deserves it then we sure as hell deserve it. Under the import export bank we regularly hand out billions to companies that move American jobs overseas I don't hear anyone saying its not right but giving people you know regular everyday folk something is out of the question. Its so obviously twisted, and yet people think, let me restate that THINK they know whats right and the truth is we have no clue to the extent tax dollars are used to further the interests of business at the expense of people, in this case American people. I could run down some specific cases where we are getting the shaft, so do we deserve it yes we do, we just have been tricked into believe we don't. The entire political process at this point is truly rigged against you and me. We have been tricked into hating each other over trivial things like guns, pro choice, small government, bla bla bla, while the elected officials eat away at our wallets. In every single economic area we are the losers, and we lose for a reason we focus on meaningless things like gay rights and they publicly fight over these things while they continue to eat away at our wallets. We have allowed ourselves to be tricked into thinking we have no option, no immediate choice so when we are presented with a deal that sounds good and is good we won't allow ourselves to believe it could possibly be. Listen we can pay for every single thing Bernie has purposed all's we have to do is get big business off the government teat. It truly is that simple. Here read this and learn something about how our government, its long and detailed. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/inside-the-horror-show-that-is-congress-20050825?page=6The information about how our dollars are used and where there going and to whom there going to will floor you, then after you have taken the time to truly educate yourself about these things come back and lets have a talk about whether its do-able and whether or not we are deserving, and better yet whom should be paying the bill. Bottom line we have been paying companies under the disguise of employment for us while these very companies have been ramming us in the ass in the work place I will use this as an example. When big business was pushing for free trade one of the things they sold to us was they would bring back those profits and pay taxes, (it would help improve life on the home front) well after the loss of millions of American jobs they have made those profits but they didn't bring back the money that money is in storage hidden away from the taxes these business's said they would pay, and now they want to negotiate a better deal, surprise to frig-gen surprise. Yet is many people's minds thats OK and they deserve it and somehow we don't. Don't you all think thats just a bit strange????

I dunno about that. We've had elements of Socialism in place for quite some time. Libraries are kinda cool. So is the interstate system (the brainchild of a Republican Pres). Police, Fire. and hey- our military is kinda cool too- we all/most pay in; they protect us all. Oh- we all collectively fund the Pentagon, which coordinates all 5 of our branches. Like going to your local public park on a sunny Spring day? Socialism at work. Do you rely on the court system to put the baddies in jail... after the cops haul them in? The "Big, Bad Sosh" at work again. I could go on, but I'm sure even you get my point. If not- and you're still wedded to this silly notion that "Socialism = 100% evil," let me clarify: that country works best which blends a balance of Capitalism and Socialism. Neither system can do it all... and each system excels where the other fails. We call this: "common sense."

Pretty much the only correct thing you posted. Full Definition of socialism 1- any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods 2a- a system of society or group living in which there is no private property 2b- a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state 3- a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/socialism

and let me just say, as a fresh vet, the idea that our military needs to be somehow rebuilt is an absolutely slap in the face to our dominance as a military power. but i expect nothing less from a bunch of posers who never served, one with how many deferments from vietnam, again? What would happen if the US found itself facing off against the rest of the world? http://www.businessinsider.com/how-long-...he-world-2016-3Not just its traditional rivals, but what if it had to fight off its allies like the UK, France, and South Korea as well? In short, America would stomp them. Especially if it pulled back to the continental US and made its stand there. First, the US has the world’s largest Navy, by a lot. With ships displacing 3,415,893 tons, the mass of the US Navy is larger than the next eight largest navies combined. And the American ships, as a whole, are more technologically advanced than those of other countries. For instance, America fields nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, and it has 10 with an 11th on the way. And that’s before the US Coast Guard gets into the mix. While the Coast Guard isn’t an expeditionary force, it could use its C-130s and other sensor platforms to give the Navy more eyes across the battle space. Its counterterrorism operators could protect government leaders and secure American ports. So attacking America across the water is a horrible idea. (Got that, North Korea and China?) Second, America’s air power is the strongest in the world. Currently, it has about 14,000 planes and helicopters spread across the five services. That’s more aircraft than the next seven countries combined. aircraft carrierUS Navy Photo The world’s only operational fifth-generation fighter, the F-22, would conduct constant air patrols across the land borders of the US to prevent any incursion by enemy bombers. The Army’s Patriot missile launchers would help stop enemy jets or missiles and Stinger/Avenger missile crews would shoot down any low-flying planes or helicopters. So the rest of the world’s militaries have to fight their way across a land border with the US while their air support is falling in flames around them. F22 RaptorBlair Bunting The F-22 Raptor. Guess what happens next? The Army and Marine Corps’ almost 9,000 tanks would team up with thousands of Stryker Anti-Tank Guided Missile vehicles, Apache and Cobra helicopters, and antitank missile teams carrying Javelins and TOW missiles to annihilate enemy armor. stryker TOW missile US Army Pfc. Victor Ayala A US Army Stryker combat vehicle firing a TOW missile. The world’s most advanced tanks, like the Leopard or the Merkava, would be tough nuts to crack. Artillery, aircraft, and antitank infantry would have to work together to bring these down. But most tanks worldwide are older US and Soviet tanks like the Patton or the T-72 that would fall quickly to missile teams or Abrams firing from behind cover. The other combat troops trying to make their way through the shattered remains of their air support and the burning hulks that were once their tanks would find themselves facing the most technologically advanced troops in the world. abrams battle tank firing Lance Cpl. Julio McGraw/USMC An M1 Abrams tank fires its main cannon. American soldiers are getting weapon sights that let them pick out enemies obscured by dust and smoke. Their armor and other protective gear are top notch and getting better. Chances are, even infantry from France, Britain, or Russia would have trouble pushing through the lines in these conditions. But even if they did, the Marines and 101st Airborne Division would be able to swoop in on helicopters and Ospreys while the 82nd Airborne Division could drop thousands of reinforcements from planes to close any openings. marines US Marine Corps Photo US Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464 assists Marines of the 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion conduct special-purpose insertion and extraction training aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, on March 13. And all of this is before America becomes desperate enough to launch any nuclear weapons. If the enemy actually did make it through, they’d face nuclear strikes every time they massed outside of a city. And their forces still trying to reach the border would be easy pickings. Minuteman III missiles are designed to strike targets far from American shores, but they could annihilate an advancing army moving from Houston to Dallas just as easily. Minuteman ballistic missleREUTERS/Kyla Gifford/U.S. Air Force Photo/Handout via Reuters An unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile launches during an operational test from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California on February 25. Navy Trident missiles could be fired from submarines in the Gulf of Mexico to destroy units waiting for their turn to attack at the border. Northern Mexico and southern Canada would become irradiated zones. So don’t worry, America. You are already behind one hell of an impenetrable wall.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

Clem, love you man but I hate this argument. Building roads that are used by everybody and having a military and a fire department hardly classifies as "socialism"... those things can only really be provided one way and we all get to use them. Telling me I have to pay Bill $15/hour to say "Do you want fries with that?" or making me pay for Sally's kid to go to college? Or taking half my money off of me to pay for Becky's 8 kids to eat for 20 years?... that's the socialism people are fighting.. but you already knew that.

TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP!... beer run with our hoods on ... TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP! You should really try to get past the sound bites and learn about the whole other side of Trumps support. And not many people really liked Romney 4 years ago, they rooted for him because they didn't like Obama... And whether you want to admit it or not, there are quite a few tenets of fascism that Obama, Hillary, and Bernie favor as well... so maybe we need "a little" fascism like we need a little socialism.

DC, I just can't get past certain things. When a man stands there and tells his supporters that if they see someone with a tomato, assault them. Don't worry he said, I'll pay your legal fees. And... I'd like to punch that guy in the mouth.
This man, with his own words makes it impossible to support him. I really wanted Kasich. I don't agree with him completely just like I don't agree with any of them completely, but I do think the man has the ability and credentials to be president.
The rest of it is pure absurdity.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

We need a little Fascism? Like socialism? OMG.
I have listened to Trump a lot, he is clueless. Therefore anybody buying into what he says is clueless too. His entire campaign is fueled by fear and hate, there is no substance to any of his policies, none.
A very recent article showed that he lies every five minutes, EVERY FIVE MINUTES! He says something then the next day says he never said it.
This guy is cookoo for cocopuffs and so are the majority of his followers.

You really need to read something other than the Libby Daily and the Socialist Times.

You really need to read something other than the Libby Daily and the Socialist Times. I got my information from watching the stupid GOP debates. All but one so far from beginning to end. I've also watched countless Trump interviews. The difference between you and me is that I kind of thought he was an idiot before, I know it now.

Using your logic here, okay? You're a big Bernie fan. Bernie thinks he can fix everything, and all he needs is my money to do it. He will take my money. Bernie is a thief, and as a supporter of him, you are a thief and criminal as well. Sound about right?

You forget that I'm an independent. I vote for who I think will do the best for the country. BUSH soured me on republicans after voting for him twice.
I don't like the direction the GOP has gone since so I tend to lean left. As I get older I've also seen more injustice and hate than I care to see, so I tend to like liberal social values more now.
But I do believe the constitution should be followed, money should be taken out of politics, the trade agreements suck and need to be reversed, and the middle class needs to catch some breaks. However, I don't believe for one minute Trump or the GOP or Hillary will do those things. I believe Bernie would have.
