I just thought 40 would enjoy it since he used it before. Yes, I thought I recognized it as something wonderful that Lincoln had said. Then I realized, it was me!

So... we've officially gone from Presidential Primaries to Presidential Primates. How soon before they start throwing their feces at each other onstage? IMO both party's must have been throwing a lot of it because that's all I see left on stage is feces.

when has something like EVER hurt trump?
he's gonna gain more supporters, because you rabid ass trump supporters don't think like rational people.
a rational person goes "wow, this is deplorable. shame on you trump!"
a trump supporter goes "yay!!! Cruz's wife is an ugly hag anyway, we want a hot FLOTUS!!!"

Trump was responding to an attack by Cruz.
Same with the dick thing a few weeks ago, it was a response to Rubio.
For some reason everyone likes to ignore the initial provocations.
As a side note. Rafael Edward "Ted" Cruz's wife works for Goldman Sachs and helped draft "Building a North American Community" - the merge America/Mexico/Canada nonsense for the Council on Foreign Relations. Not to be trusted. Rafael Cruz goes by a fake name to appear whiter, was born in Canada, and has a globalist banker wife..Why conservatives support him is beyond me. He's as slimy and fake as it gets.

Like I said.... middle school.
The whole pack of GOP hopefuls allowed the conversation to be dictated by the lowest common denominator. This speaks poorly about them all.
Excuse him if you want. I won't. He's a child bully in a 70 year old man's body. Unfit to lead.

The howls of the supporters of Hillary, the most corrupt and evil of all the Candidates and her rapist side kick tends to fall on deaf ears as they attack others.
Trump posting the picture was wrong and it will only serve to help Cruz. It has not been proven that Cruz was aware of the PAC that posted the pic of Trumps wife.

America has exactly 5 months to wake up and get its [crap] in a pile.... In fairness to GOP voters ...... Trump has been winning with less than 50% of the vote, and he has also received very strong Democrat voter crossover. (who voted for him in the primary, and who say they will vote for him in the general) Anyway ..... Ugh.

The mere thought of Trump as the President makes me ill. The thought of Trump, Clinton, Sanders, all make me violently ill. Cruz is only barely tolerable, as I don't like many of the things he has done in his campaign ...... Kasich is about the only 1 I could enthusiastically vote for. As a side note, I heard something the other day as I was flipping through the channels ..... A fairly sizable majority of those 18-29 like and embrace Socialism as a political system. However, they also balk, quite vehemently, at the idea of companies like Amazon, YouTube, Apple, and others being owned and controlled by the government. Well, at least they're consistent.

Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland.
their political system are socialist, or how 40 likes to call it, welfare states.
but their economies are either mixed economies or social market economies.
this is what a social market economy is:
The social market economy (German: Soziale Marktwirtschaft) is a social and economic system combining free market capitalism which supports private enterprise, alongside social policies which establish both fair competition within the market and a welfare state.[1][2] It is sometimes classified as a coordinated market economy.[3] The social market economy was originally promoted and implemented in West Germany by the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) under Chancellor Konrad Adenauer in 1949.[4] Its origins can be traced to the interwar Freiburg school of economic thought.[5]
and YTown, this information has been posted on the board a thousand times.
you ignoring the information doesn't make it any less true. from here on out, every time you make a comment about it, i'll pretty much chalk it up to you willingly spreading misinformation.

Germany is a largely capitalistic economy. Unless I am very misinformed, they have very little government intervention/ownership of industry. Germany has a population size approximately 1/4 that of the US. They also have almost no defense spending. Germany's GDP is 3.9 trillion. By comparison, the US GDP is $17.4 trillion. (2015 estimate) The US has a federal budget that is approximately 20% of GDP. Germany has a federal budget that is roughly 40%+ of their GDP. They also spend very, very little on defense. They are now considering additional defense spending, but they will likely never approach what we spend. To take the German system and bring it to the US, while maintaining our current defense spending, we would have a federal budget of somewhere between $8-9 trillion. Even if we just used the same percentages Germany uses, that would be 40%+, which would be a $7 trillion federal budget. I think that we can all agree that this would not be possible in the US. Our economy would collapse if we pulled an additional 27% or so of GDP out of circulation. It will be interesting to see how Germany handles social spending going forward, if they do, indeed, ramp up defense spending. (as seems likely) Anyway, that is one economy, Switzerland ..... what is their economy? Well, there is more manufacturing than most would think. They have tons of private industries. However, they have relatively little union representation there. Only 25% of workers are unionized. The Swiss people want to do a good job, and they recently rejected, overwhelmingly, (65-35%, IIRC) an initiative to increase the minimum wage. In what way do you feel they qualify as a Socialist economy? They are protectionist in some areas. Switzerland has a minimal military budget, so that is not a consideration for their budget, overall. The Swiss federal income tax rate tops out at 11.5%, according to Wikipedia. Further, the Swiss population is only 8 million. This is hardly a good comparison for the US. Norway's population is only 5 million. Sweden has a population of 8 million. Denmark checks in at 5 million as well. None of these are appropriate comparisons for the US. Not one of them have nationalized their manufacturing, as a Socialist country/economy would. Denmark's Prime Minister recently told Bernie Sanders to stop using them as an example of a great Socialist success, because they are not a Socialist country. Denmark Tells Bernie Sanders It’s Had Enough Of His ‘Socialist’ Slurs | Stock News & Stock Market Analysis - IBD http://www.investors.com/denmark-tells-bernie-sanders-to-stop-calling-it-socialist/ Anyway, can you tell me how these countries are Socialist? How are their economies anything even approaching a Socialist model? Also, if you look at Switzerland, there was a time where they had horrible tax burdens, and they tried to do everything for everyone. They couldn't do it. Their level of personal wealth fell dramatically, their economy suffered, and they made "right wing" reforms that turned their economy back around. Denmark, IIRC, has a tax system that takes something like 2/3 of a person's income. They provide education, but "free"? I don't think so.

your failed argument saddens me. as you can't even answer your own question.
you ask me to provide examples on how the two exist.
i showed you those examples.
your flaw is that you think the economy and the way the government is ran is one in the same.
it isn't.
just like our economic system and government system isn't the same thing in America.
are you saying that we have an capitalist government?
also, you're pointing out articles on how those economic styles are failing.
ok, fair enough. yet you forget that we're how much in debt again?
and those countries i provided, from your own links, export more than import.
we do not. we import more than we export.
they are perfect examples. but since it goes against what your thinking was, you can't except it.

Socialism would be great, and I would be 100% for it ...... if only every single able bodied person would fully participate, giving their full effort in whatever station in life they exist in. Instead we have out of work people who say that such and such job just isn't good enough for them. They say that they will never do particular jobs. Kids today go to college, and get useless degrees that handicap them financially for life, instead of learning a trade. We need all types of people working all kinds of jobs. Some of those trades can earn a person 6 figures per year. My uncle was a foreman electrician, and he had to take off the last 2-3 months of the year back in the days of truly oppressive tax rates. Other trades can make similar money. Plumbers charge $50/hour or more. Same for independent electricians. Welders make great money, as do machinists. The only way Socialism works is if everyone is willing to work, and to do their part .... and if you have great leadership. Unfortunately, people look at Socialism as free stuff, and all too often Socialism winds up looking like Cuba, the Soviet Union, East Germany, or North Korea. I wonder how many people from this country would trade places with those people? I remember seeing the long lines of people, waiting for toilet paper handouts in the Soviet Union. Yea! Great fun there! We need to be really careful about what we hope for, because we might just get it .... and then our troubles really begin.

I showed why your examples fail the test. The closest would be Denmark, and they are trying, desperately, to change direction now, because when you give people free stuff, whether they contribute or not, you find more people choosing the "not" option.

they didn't fail the test, you posted articles of people speculating.
and Germany didn't fail the test either, you simply stated an opinion as if it will come true.
try again.

Absolutely, and then no one is empowered and able to rise above. Everybody completely dependent upon the goons in the government.....just what they want to empower themselves and their special interest groups. By the people..........

you know that sounds like the US, right?
you're slamming other countries for whatever reason, and yet completely forgot or ignored the fact that somehow our better economic system has helped get us in 19 trillion dollar worth of debt, allowed corporations to the screw the population over and send jobs overseas.
and that's ok to you guys? pathetic.
