Isn't what we did with Iraq though? We removed Saddam and his army, then we set up the infrastructure and economy for them to succeed ... and instead there was a power vacuum that was filled by terrorists. We stayed as long as we could until we got tired of losing our guys to terrorist attacks. What exactly do you mean empower their economy? We gave them billions and they're sitting on vast resources of oil already.

And we've vacated the area too. That resulted in the Taliban rising to power along with Al Qaeda, until they had enough resources to come over and attack us here.

Removing Saddam was one of the worst ideas.

remember, i'm talking from a position of what we should do as of now. what we did in iraq in 2002 or 2003 is completely different.

we tried fixing a problem that didn't need fixing.

remember, 9/11 was from afghanistan, not iraq. we had no business being in iraq at all.

and we tried installing a figure head into power, and the new government was a complete joke.

also, we didn't set up their economy at all. there should've been a system in place like in Kuwait and Bahrain, were the citizens get monthly stipends from oil profits.

what we set up in iraq was a cluster... that was destined to fail.

what i'm proposing is gonna take decades to be fully implemented, not a handful of years and a propaganda filled "mission accomplished" speech.

i don't see anybody defending terrorism on the board.

what's sad is that you believe your fantasy world is somehow reality.

I can accept being called a bleeding heart liberal.

I actually worry more about the 20,000+ gun victims and gun deaths in the US by US citizens than I do terrorists.

I also think, if elected, Trump (and probably Cruz) is more of an immediate threat to the security of our nation. We WILL be a total laughing stock and our allies really will second guess what they are getting from us.

That said, I have nothing but the utmost respect for Swish and anybody else who has done their duty and served their time in uniform. But, I have a 15 year old son...would I want him to be sent to Syria to fight? Of course not because I do not see a plan that will work that wont involve total occupation and ground warfare. AND, I am not even sure that will work. However, if he chooses to enlist in the Army that will be the decision he has to make and I would support him if he does.

i understand definitely bro.

if your son does decide to join, i hope we're in a position to either do things the right way, or him not deploy period.

because if Trump or Cruz is elected, it's gonna be the same useless bombing and ground troops that doesn't work.

and i don't wish for anybody to be caught up in something that is pointless when it's all said and done.

have you noticed that the people who talk the toughest about military might and bombings are the same people who never actually had the balls to do it themselves?

and the people who don't talk tough about the military want to exercise caution and diplomacy before using the military.

as it should.

the war mongers will like 40's post. the people that like to use the military like bouncers kicking out drunks at a night club.

the people who want to use diplomacy first, and military action last?

we get ignored.

What I don't understand is that as of now the estimated number in ISIS is between 30,000 and 40,000, yet many wish to discriminate against an entire religion of 1.5 billion people.

Hmm...well, I am assuming you mean Trump? If so, how do you know? He shares absolutely NO plan for anything at all yet, people blindly support him. Even several of his own investments and companies have fallen with him as "leader".

Although, as Hillary is most likely to get the Dem nom and she knows the world and various leaders better than any of them I can also assume you are talking about her leadership.

because the many has bought into fear.

they have allowed fear to change who they are.

but what that tells me is that their belief system wasn't really concrete from the start. or that they already had prejudice and hatred for those people, and now it's amplified.

i find it funny that the people who tell us not to believe what the government says....end up believing everything the government says about muslims.

i guess it's do as i say, not as i do around here.

what's funny is that when people talk about "lack of leadership" or "our allies lost confidence in us",

they don't realize that they are talking about the clowns running for presidency on the right.

Clinton, with all her flaws, is well respected around the world, to a ton of world leaders.

yet that doesn't matter. pissing off people around the world is what's most important, apparently.

So, you equate killing an innocent baby with killing a convicted, adult murderer? Interesting concept. On one hand, yes, killing an innocent baby that hasn't even been born, and killing a murderer, are the same. A life ends. On the other hand, one of those 2 didn't do anything wrong. Never even got a chance to do anything wrong. Or a chance to do ANYTHING, really.

How many Americans have the Terrorists killed to date?

How many Americans have the Liberal Democrats killed through Abortion to date? (Hint) 50 million!

Even after known communities of terrorist and terrorist protecting other terrorist - our fearless president is still fighting his fight to just allow Syrian refugee to just waterfall into our country.

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2016/03/obama-doubles-bringing-refugees-u-s-even-brussels-attacks/

Knowing that there are terrorist, alot of them it seems, hiding away in these refugees, the same terrorist that allowed the leader of the Paris attacks to live cozy in their own backyards - it only leads me to believe that Obama is the leader we never, ever need again. This guy, imo, wants to watch the red, white and blue dissappear.

Gunshots at the Capitol!!!

US Capitol on lock down, Shelter in Place!

Gunshots reported at U.S. Capitol complex

Workers remove the scaffolding from the U.S. Capitol dome earlier this month in Washington. (Shawn Thew/EPA)
By Peter Hermann and Mike DeBonis March 28 at 2:56 PM
D.C. police and fire officials are responding to a report of shots fired at the visitor’s center at the U.S. Capitol complex, according to authorities.

An e-mail sent to U.S. senate staff says “gunshots have been reported” and asked workers to shelter in place.

I think it is almost over but they have to search for any other trouble.

No kidding. You'd think they might have a public address system or something in place to make mass notifications..

And I hope Hillary wasn't in the building, she would have already deleted that e-mail.
