"Affordable health care" is costing me a lot. I have to ask, why are so many insurance companies wanting to get out of the "market"?
Affordable education. Yeah. Even our local schools are constantly "needing" more money, just for k-12. Imagine what "free" college would do.
Oh, you know there's no such thing as "free", right? Somebody pays.

You know why the Republican Party has lost it's way? No Substance.
You have lot's of things to fear, you fear things getting worse! Well I got news for you, they are going to get worse unless Bernie becomes President. He is the only one who cares at all about the middle class, the only one.
Trump is about Trump. Hillary is about Wall Street. Cruz is about Power.

I think a few in here would benefit from traveling outside of the US. Not the safe compounds of a resort in Mexico or the Caribbean (where your only brush with the locals is the waiter or bartender). I mean, really go out and travel, see how others live, respect their culture, learn their language...learn. Then maybe, just maybe you might see that things like affordable health care and affordable education are attainable here in the USA. Note, I say "affordable"...nowhere did I say free. Will it mean less disposable money at the end of the month to buy some more crap that you don't need? Who knows...maybe, maybe not. But, after traveling and seeing the world and reflecting on what you have here in the US you may realize you will be better off without the material crap that means nothing and better off with affordable education and health care.
As will our society.

From the Bernie Sanders Campaign: Do you want to know how the wealthy and powerful throughout the world are rigging the global economy to avoid paying their fair share of taxes? Check out the Panama Papers released by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists. They show that over 214,000 offshore companies are using tax havens in Panama to evade taxes. This includes 500 banks which have registered over 15,000 shell companies in Panama. That is unacceptable and that has got to change. Sadly, Secretary Clinton made this tax evasion worse by supporting the Panama Free Trade Agreement in 2011, even though she opposed it when she was running for President against Barack Obama in 2008. Bernie, on the other hand, opposed this disastrous trade deal from day one. During the debate over the Panama trade deal in 2011, Senator Sanders said on the floor of the Senate: "Panama is a world leader when it comes to allowing wealthy Americans and large corporations to evade U.S. taxes by stashing their cash in offshore tax havens. And the Panama Free Trade Agreement would make this bad situation much worse ... The trade agreement with Panama would effectively bar the United States from cracking down on illegal and abusive offshore tax havens in Panama. In fact, combating tax haven abuse in Panama would be a violation of this free-trade agreement, exposing the United States to fines from international authorities." As president, Bernie will re-negotiate this trade deal to make sure that the wealthy and powerful cannot avoid paying their fair share of taxes by stashing their cash in Panama. https://panamapapers.icij.org

I've only been to Canada.
However, I feel like Alaska is almost its own country. We technically span four timezones, 20 different languages are spoken in this state, and a plethora of different cultures.

Well it's something like 30% of americans don't have passports, and 82% only speak one language. I think everyone should travel abroad when they can, as its both amazing and educational

Sad. One of my greatest joys of being on this planet is getting to see it. Can't imagine a life spent entirely inside these borders. When people say they went to Jamaica or Mexico but stayed in an all inclusive resort...I just am stunned. Just go stay at a Marriot in Palm Beach if that's how you travel. You can share a pool with a bunch of Americans anywhere. Why bother using a passport?

For me, I don't even consider Canada, the Caribbean, or Mexico as visiting outside the country.
But I'm weird like that. Any place that you could go that only use to require a drivers license to cross over simply doesn't count.

i invited a friend to go to Germany when I was stationed over there.
Just for a week. He said no because he was scared about getting kid napped, and that nobody spoke English.
I blame the American mindset on Hostel and Taken.

I have travelled a lot but, I also lived in Europe for 14 years and from there it is easy to get around Europe and Africa. Every time we travel we go out of the way to find someplace off the beaten track to experience local culture, history and geography.
Just last year we (my wife and two kids) were in the Dominican Republic in a tiny local town essentially living, speaking with, swimming, fishing, drinking and eating with the locals. We were the only non-Dominicans or Haitians on the street and on the beach yet, we were completely accepted and people were incredibly nice and welcoming to us where ever we were. Ended up meeting a Haitian artist who invited us into his tiny shack where he lived with his family. We spent an hour or so talking about his art (me in pigeon French, him in pigeon English). We also took all local public transportation in and out of Santo Domingo.
How much did this cost? *CONSIDERABLY* less than what most Americans spend on just a few days at Disneyland or Disneyworld.

Apparently you are the one who can't bother to read. #2, #5, and the last one all effect EVERYONE in a MULTITUDE OF WAYS. It amazes me that people are so scared of affordable health care and affordable education. If it means more can be educated and insured and not worry about serious debt HOW is that bad? Are you really going to arrogantly tell Canada, Europe, Australia and NZ that they have it completely wrong (in particular Scandinavia as Sanders vision probably resembles them the closest)? My guess is they all look at the USA with the 30k shootings, outrageous college and health care costs and just scratch their heads and LAUGH. But, hey....that's ok, we have Trump and Cruz! All I have to say about the affordable care act is that my staff hates when patient's have that for insurance. It is horrible for them to get any test ordered or referrals made because you can't get approval for them.
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no

These kinda things are a work in progress.
Not saying you, but just a general statement:
You older guys complain about us being the "now" generation. Well, y'all of all people shouldn't be expecting it to work perfectly out the gate then. Kinda takes a hit toward your credibility.
In my experience***** disclaimer*** before somebody post scientific evidence that my experience isn't true****, nothing major works perfectly out the gate. Hell, my damn iPad needs updates to fix whatever bugs Apple didn't catch before. Windows is the same way.
Anybody who's ever bought an audi, Benz or BMW brand new will tell you that you gotta baby the thing for the first 1200ish miles before your "allowed" to run it into the ground.
The ACA is here to stay. Now the Feds needs to be constantly working on fixes and adjustments to get it working as well as it can. This will take some time.

We older guys lived our lives with the knowledge of what it takes to make America great and to keep it that way. We saw what it took to defeat Communism and the expansion of the Soviet Empire over 50 years. We know what it took to get man on the moon, invent the Computer and the Internet. We understand the effort needed to keep America financially number one on the planet. We are wise to the fact if you borrow huge sums of money to live well NOW, you sacrifice future generations livelihood with tremendous debt they will struggle under. It took a Nation of People, coming together, working towards the same goals, staying forever vigilant and standing strong in the face of enemies who would destroy us. President Kennedy said it best when he said, "Ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country." Today all I hear is "What is in it for ME, me, me.

I hear that mostly from you guys though.
And you didn't actually respond to anything I said with substance.
But, I understand. Everybody thinks their group is the true, righteous group.

Actually if you go to Europe they have a different interpretation of WW2. Remember, they were all involved from 1939. Britain declared war against Germany as soon as they moved into Poland. As with WW1 the US were reluctant about joining a "European war" and were only drawn into it once Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. FACT: the war was won by a massive coalition of allied forces, not just America. The British and Churchill, in particular, deserve much credit.
The "American Empire" came into reality simply because the European empire countries were destroyed and had to spend billions to re-build. The British Empire was shrinking after WW1 and it became even smaller after WW2. These factor made a massive gap both politically and in the financial market, which allowed America to rise to power.
The final straw and collapse of the USSR actually started with a coup in Romania and spread throughout the Eastern Bloc within their own populations.
Remember those history books you said you "don't need to read because you lived it"....well, you might want to open one just to clarify some facts rather than buy into propaganda.

You can downplay America's achievements all you want, to your own detriment. Enjoy your world travels in a world not dominated by the Soviet Empire. Enjoy your travels to Nations that would not be open to you under Soviet domination.
Enjoy the fruits of our labors. You are welcome.

Today we have the Wisconsin Primary. Polls close at 9 eastern time. 42 delegates at stake. The breakdown: 42 total delegates: 24 from Wisconsin's eight Congressional Districts; 10 base at-large; five bonus; three party.
This is the another opportunity to begin stopping Trump. Cruz needs a big victory here as millions of dollars have been spent by everything anti Trump. Trump has also had a bad week leading into Wisconsin.
All life hangs in the Balance! Well maybe not that big a deal. ---------------------------------------------- For the Democrats:
86 delegates at stake. The breakdown: 57 Congressional District delegates; 10 pledged Party Leaders and Elected Officials; 10 unpledged PLEOs or superdelegates; 19 at-large.
Does Wisconsin feel the Bern?

40, you guys are just stuck in the mud and don't want any change unless it's a change back to policies that have been proven failures. The success you perceive was a mirage for fools to grasp while the country was being sold out from under you. Sorry buddy, but things will change, if not now then by the time the next gen comes to drive the work force.

I can understand your bitterness having suffered the defeat of your comrades, but America was just too great for the Soviets to overcome. I can also understand today's youth and their attitudes on America because they were indoctrinated by the Left in our School system.

and if we want the tree of liberty to outlast all the other empires combined( i personally want the US to be last longer than the Romans, Greeks, Mongols, Turks and Ottomans combined) than we need to focus more on diplomatic solutions than this shoot first, ask questions later our potential GOP leaders are pushing.
at least Trump is wanting to take a fall back approach on the middle east. i'll give him that, cause your boy Cruz is scary.

anyway, Ivanka and Eric Trump: Loyal offspring, proud surrogates — but not Republicans https://www.yahoo.com/news/ivanka-and-eric-trump-loyal-offspring-proud-202153319.htmlDonald Trump’s three oldest children have campaigned with their father and served as surrogates during the presidential race. But only one of them is actually a member of the party Trump hopes to lead. Records from the New York State Board of Elections show that neither Ivanka Trump nor Eric Trump is enrolled in a political party. Trump’s oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., is a Republican. Both Eric and Ivanka Trump have also donated money to Democrats. Campaign finance reports show Eric gave $1,000 to Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., in 2010. Eric has made 11 other contributions totaling over $138,000 that all went to Republican candidates. Ivanka’s campaign contributions have a more bipartisan bent. Records show she has donated over $240,000 to both Democrats and Republicans. Ivanka has given money to Schumer, Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J.,, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., Rep. Donald Norcross, D-N.J., District of Columbia Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, and Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential bid. On the Republican side, Ivanka has given money to the presidential campaigns of Mitt Romney and Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. In 2010, Ivanka gave $2,000 to Carly Fiorina’s U.S. Senate campaign. Fiorina ran against Donald Trump in this year’s Republican primary and the pair had several contentious exchanges. Fiorina ended her presidential bid in February and endorsed another Trump rival, Sen. Ted Cruz last month. In addition to giving money to both Republican and Democratic candidates, Ivanka has donated to committees benefiting both parties. Neither Ivanka and Eric Trump responded to requests for comment from Yahoo News. The Trump campaign also did not respond to a request for comment. Along with Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric, Trump has two younger children. Tiffany Trump, 22, has not been as active in the campaign as her older siblings and Yahoo News could not find voting records for her. Trump’s youngest son, Barron, is just 10 years old. New York State Board of Elections records show that both Trump and his wife, Melania, are members of the Republican Party. But Trump has a rather unusual relationship with the Republican Party, and has sometimes been at odds with the Republican National Committee. Like his daughter, Trump has given money to members of both parties.
