It's a stupid, draconian rule but Josh knows what he had to do to get back in the league and he'd rather get "John Blazed" than play football. He has no one to blame but himself he if thought he'd have a chance to get reinstated this season.
Peace.

So, is marijuana an addictive drug? That depends on how you define addiction. If you require physical "withdrawal" symptoms, then no. But another definition is centered on compulsion. If there are clearly negative consequences to its continued use, and you keep using despite those consequences (again, and again, and again...), you're pretty much addicted. You could almost explain it if Gordon was professing to be on some noble quest to show the injustice of the rules. But he's not doing that. He's publicly claiming to be following the rules, then predicable tests are proving he is not. The brass ring was within his grasp, all he had to do was reach for it instead of the joint. And he chose the joint. Again.
