Wasn't Tedfords system one of the reasons Rodgers dropped?

Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Not really. A lot of people use stats to try to dismiss game film.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I think one of the reasons could have been that teams were spooked by Dilfer, Smith, Harrington, and Boller.

Thanks for clarifying. Yes, Tedford was the coach that had that reputation

Goff had some nice throws to second options over the middle of the field. Those were the most NFL ready throws I saw. He also wasn't afraid to chuck it deep when he saw a 1on1 matchup, but was inaccurate on those. He even threw an end of half hail mary out of bounds, Brady Quinn style tongue

Some good, some bad, something to work with, but more of a project than many think

Haha, ok.

At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

College stats can be very misleading.

That is especially true of spread offenses. They put up massive numbers that are more scheme related than actual.

Guys are open. Open meaning by yards open. The defenses are not close to the pros.

In evaluation of college quarterbacks you have to take into consideration where the guy will be in two or three years. There is much to learn and these guys are still growing physically.

Forecasting their progress and growth is part of the risk in judging these guys. That is why it is not a science.

I agree and it's one of the reasons I like Goff better than Wentz. I feel that much of Wentz's value is tied up in what he will be, not what he currently is.

j/c:

Sure are a lot of guys who are positive of their QB evaluations. If only GMs were as good at it as our board members.

I'll say this again.........anyone who thinks they KNOW if one of these guys is going to be the best of the bunch is blowing smoke up everyone's butt.

NFL people.........like......REAL NFL people talk about how hard it is to evaluate collegiate quarterbacks due to the types of offenses and defenses being utilized in college.

I'm cool w/people lobbying for their guy, but those who pretend to know who is the best and that their guy will be great are blowing smoke up people's butts.

The analytic guys on our message board probably utilize the Stat sheet as the Bible. Possibly the elite analytic that we are getting into here. Also include the Football side to be part of the variables. Competition. College success vs NFL success. We all seem to ASSume our version of what the analytic guys will do. I think we got Paul to take us to a different level. Don't expect us to reveal that level either.
