I don' like it either. His profile page even calls him a career back up. But hey, that may be just why they picked him.
WE DON'T NEED A QB BEFORE WE GET A LINE THAT CAN PROTECT HIM my two cents...

hmmmmm I wonder what's up with Cook? Aside from not being named captain I haven't read any off field dings?

Cool. good pick? Good arm? Intelligence? Accurracy? Really smart, pretty accurate. Takes care of the football. Pro style QB. Dealt with a lot of adversity (Kiffin and Sark). He can be a good backup.

Smart player, good accuracy is about the best I can do. His arm strength concerns me, but I trust Hue

10 Buckeyes off the board and the 3rd isn't over yet.

Don't want to be called a whiner again but can't you find backups down there in the 5th where we have a ton of picks? just asking? Maybe this kid is the guy Hue wants to build into his future QB.

This seems like a kid who would have been available much later in the draft. I think that there has to have been better value available here.

Too bad. He has the physical traits to be a prospect. Last thing we need is another jerk QB like Johnny!

If that's the case, this is good value.

QBs are at a premium right now... We should see QBs come off at the early 4th.

Honestly didn't watch any game-cutups of Kessler. Saw him at the SB and combine and thought his throwing motion was herky-jerky. But he does come from a pro-style offense.
Would rather Brandon Allen

Methinks you can find heavy boom/bust QBs (physical freaks with major major holes in their QB game that have a ray of hope of turning into something) super late in the draft, but this guy is more of a known commodity (less risk of turning into nothing).
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Did we really need to draft someone just to play Andy Dalton on the scout team?

I was out all night, so I missed the action. I'm caught up now, and with the exception of Kessler, I am pretty happy with the picks so far. The proof is in the on-field play, of course, but Coleman, Ogbah, and Nassib are all guys I like, and the other Coleman has been ID'd by Steve as a good choice, and I trust Steve's judgement. As for Kessler, he was clearly Hue's choice. I guess I'll trust his judgement too.
