Can't the Browns only meet with 30 prospects before the draft? Outside of combine/Proday/NFL college bowls. Only 30 prospects can visit the facility. I think they can workout on their campus as much as they want. Thanks. I just remember a few NFL teams drafting players they never met with. I wonder how common this process is.

Ugh. Is it some sort of unwritten rule that we have to draft a WR that can't catch each year?
4th round still has talent for the taking. Not a time to be goofing off/getting cute with picks.

Yeah PFF loves our draft for the most part...lol. Which isn't a surprise because of the analytics ties.
I don't like the pick because we could have gotten him later....same as the Kessler pick. I liked what we did early, but think we have tried to get too cute in the 4th ( although I like the LB).

great athlete with bad hands. Mayle 2.0 They said on NFLN that he might switch to corner. So we just waisted a 4th round pick on a fa project. Great. Guess we are just going to tank the rest of the draft and next season.

I just think we have strayed from the pack today. Every pick has been out in left field. Passing on good talent to prove That they are smarter then the other teams?

Ricardo Louis: "I'm probably one of the better receivers in this draft. I'm going to show you why." Answer: Two. Question: What is the over under on number of years until he's out of the league.

If he learns to catch consistently, he is an 8-10 year guy. If he doesnt, he is camp fodder.

I hope Ricardo Louis makes the team. On the highlight reels he looks like a class act. Never dancing or other extraneous actions (showboating). After big plays always throws the ball back to the refs. When he scores a touchdowns he acts like "he's been there before". This guy would have liked the pick. Good luck Ricardo hope to see you score a TD for the Browns.

Yep. All of these draft picks aren't going to make the team, and they are most likely not keeping 4 rookie WRs. The thing with "quantity over quality" is that you have to know you can't keep all these guys after camps. The guys who don't rise to the occasion have to go.
We have drafted 13, and will bring in another 7-10 UDFAs. I imagine because our roster is so piss poor we will keep 10-15 of those guys, but that still means some guys are getting cut if they don't perform.

I would absolutely not be surprised to see us keep 6 WR, with 4 of them being the rooks.
The rookie TE, I don't know about .... he looks like a practice squad guy to me.

Not a fan of this pick. I think Higgens and Payton are much better receivers than this guy.

I think the rookie TE has a better shot of making the team than 4 rookie WRs. As much as we rag on the WR group, 2-3 of those guys have had success in the NFL. Heck our passing attack wasn't an issue last year. We sucked scoring TDs because we lacked height in the redone, and big play guys. However, Hartline and Hawkins especially, aren't bums. They are solid NFL WRs, and I don't envision us dumping them for a rookie struggling in camp.
We lost Benjamin, but the rest of those guys are back (Bowe doesn't count), and overall I would say our passing game exceeded expectations last year. I will be shocked if we keep more than 6 WRs, and I guarantee you that Hartline and Hawkins (if healthy) are apart of that six.

1. The theme of our draft is speed.
2. So at #114 we picked up a WR who is 6'2" 215 and can stretch the field. And CATCH it - for those with the Can't catch stuff...he makes the downfield catches its some easy lack of concentration catches he misses.
3. Good Route runner but as a rookie the routes they run very well is the GO/FLY/9/Bomb route!
I actually think some of this is rather funny - reactions here.
Many here cry about us not having WRs...we draft 5 (maybe 4 as the Princeton kid might be a TE???)
Odds are we won't carry them all we will see where the cream rises. At the end we should have a very good upgrade on the position unit.

Hawkins is 30, and our oldest receiver. Hartline is getting up there was well, but I like him as the veteran/mentor. There are no guarantees about Pryor. I liked Gabriel, but he really struggled last year. Jennings, Moore, and Hall are all nothing special. Moore is a special teams guy, but he is 28, and has never given a team anything in the pass game. Maybe we keep 6 WR, and 4 are the rookies, along with Hartline and either Pryor, Hawkins, or Gabriel. That seems really possible to me. I think that we want to go extremely young, and give these young players the chance to show what they can do.

We just disagree.
I think the only way all four WRs make the team is if they earn it, and that means beating out all of the guys you mentioned.
I look at it like this if Hawkins is healthy....
Hartline (lock as a 2 next to Coleman) Hawkins (lock as slot if healthy) We didn't draft a guy who is slot anyway. Coleman (lock as #1)
That leaves 3 spots for all the guys you mentioned (Pryor/Moore/Gabriel etc) and the other 3 rookies. I believe 2 rookies probably and the other spot is up for grabs. I don't see how they keep 7 WRs but heck it's the Browns so roster management hasn't historically been a strong suit.

I wanted Cooper. This one made me scratch my head some more. Can he be taught to catch the ball better?

Well, maybe a couple more if we aren't carrying four or five QBs. And one might replace Bowe. And one can be a placeholder for Gordy. But if they have something, PS might be a good plan. Camp feet rather than arms.

Don't let the Sad Sacks get you down...we actually are having a good draft, only proof will be after 1-3 seasons.

He might be our primary return guy.
He seems to be a pretty good hands catcher, but can start to run before he's got the ball put away on the "easy" passes. I think it's something he could fix.
He's another former QB, so Hue might have some more gadget plays in the plans.
Wasn't really on my radar, but we'll see how it works out.
Could develop into a plus blocker.
I like the mix of receivers we ended up with.

Don't let the Sad Sacks get you down. Another insult by tab. No, Eotab is right: we've got no business questioning why we'd draft a wide receiver who has the dropsies. After all, we've drafted guys with that label and they always improved their pass catching in the pros (Braylon, Quincy, Little,... you know, the guys who became sure-handed in the pros......).

j/c I just want to be on record that I think this guy has a better than 50/50 chance of making the team. I don't think he'll be an immediate starter. I think he brings a tremendous skill set to the table and the coaching experience and knowledge on this staff is well suited to bring him along. I could see him getting reps in certain sub packages and then gradually becoming a bigger part of the offense. I wasn't able to find extensive information on him that would tell me about his drops but I did locate this player profile that says he only had five drops last season. Source His draft slot is not something I will hold against him. To me it's a specious arguement that doesn't focus on the purpose of drafting; which is building the roster, not winning the draft.
