Yes, we seem to want kids with good speed, athleticism, and high motors. Which I like. Those are all things that can't be coached. They already have the foundations for success, now they just need coached up.

Anyone know why Westerman is falling? CBS had him projected in round 2.

Does anyone else think that the NFL thought to themselves this year, "How do we make the draft even more unwatchable? Draft parties and former players live streams!"
Remember when the NFL draft was just 2 days and wasn't a circus? Yeah, it's really annoying. I don't care to see a season ticket holder butcher a guy's name in the biggest moment of that player's life or a former player make the moment about himself as he talks about his own family. To quote Monty Python and the Holy Grail, "Get on with it!"

How about maybe Rashard Higgins, for the WR trifecta?
He is a guy who can probably help on day 1.

If they took Westerman at 154, it might be their best pick of the draft. He could be a day 1 starter gotten in the 5th round. Unfortunately, I doubt they'll do it. The Browns seem to always avoid the obvious best player available with their picks.

Wow, we're really in need of receivers. I'm guessing that the team doesn't expect Gordon to be back.
Or, the law of averages - the more we take, the better chance someone is successful.

Why do they go to commercial everytime WE pick? Because we have so many picks, they get tired of talking about is? OK, another WR, Jordan Payton UCLA.

First non great athlete. Payton isn't a great athlete, but runs great routes, has good ball skills and can be a bully with the ball in his hands. Kinda surprised he went this early but he will be productive in the NFL.

If you throw enough crap on the wall some of it HAS to stick amiright? Think so. Let's keep drafting WRs.
Because Browns.

6'1" 207# 4.43 speed, runs solid routes, good hands, works well in the middle of the field ....
Sounds like a useful WR, who should contribute right away in multiple WR sets.

No one is going to make an offer for a WR that hasn't played in years, is brain dead and one tiny little infraction away from a permanent suspension....

I think it is safe to say that our FO uses metrics similar to PFF. That will give us an idea on our picks in future drafts.

ESPN just had some really good things to say about the kid. 201 catches without fumbling is a cool stat.

Arguably our 2 biggest weaknesses last year were pass rusher and receiver.
We have added 3 players at each position so far.
We have also addressed other positions of need, OL, S, and backup/developmental QB. We also still have 4 more picks waiting to be made, and have added a boatload of future value picks as well.
I don;t pretend to know all of these players the Browns picked. However, I do know some of them, and I like a number of the guys we have taken. I think we have added maybe as many as 6 guys who could start, either immediately, or in time. (Coleman, Ogbah, Nassib, Coleman, Shobert, and Kindred, who has already grown on my the more I see about him) We also have some guys who are developmental guys, maybe boom or bust .... but this many picks allows you to take a few chances on guys you think could be big hits, and starters for your team in a year or 2.
I don't necessarily like, or even know every player we have drafted, (though I do like several of them) but I can see why we drafted a number of them. I see the method to their madness.

He still has huge talent and production. I think that someone will give us something for him. Not a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or maybe even a 4th or 5th .... but I could see a team with a good locker room taking a chance with a 6th rounder.

I sure hope so, or they bring in some after the draft. That running back room is pretty bare. For a HC that runs as much as Hue does.

Plus, we don't need a 3 down guy, because we have Duke Johnson. Who are some guys who can pound the defense between the Tackles who are still available?

I dunno. Hue seems to like the big strong and not necessarily fast back. Those can be found.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.
