Republican's core values had about as much to do with that as democrats...

And Trumps plan, if he were to get it, to reduce taxes and eradicate ISIS.. would only cause it go much higher.

If Trump and the people he surrounds himself with, many from the Business community, is able to negotiate better Trade deals, make Companies want to stay in America and thrive, creating more jobs for our Citizens, allows corporations to repatriate Trillions of dollars they have in other countries, you will see an Economic revival that more than pays for the other issues.

Remember that.

But if you are happy with the Establishment who are owned by Special Interest Groups, we will have many more years of the Status Quo.

The Leadership we currently have has borrowed $10 Trillion from the Nations credit card and look at the economy it has given us. Our kids and their kids will be paying off this Debt. People talk about kids not being able to get started due to their College debt, well now the entire Nation is in the same situation.

Bill Clinton said it best this week when he reminded us that the Middle Class is working for the same wages today as they were when he left office.

Choose!

Just because we are unhappy with the "establishment" does not make Trump a good choice.

I feel like a man who has not had a general election Presidential candidate to vote for in quite a while.

Change just for the sake of change isn't always a good thing.. that is the mentality that brought us Obama. He promised us very little in the way of substance, he promised lofty ideals of hope and change and rainbows and unicorns.. and most importantly, he wasn't Bush.

This same mentality is now what is fueling Trump from the other side.

Odd, isn't it, that the media just fell in line with the obama admin, but never will with the trump admin, no matter how well he might do as president. At least the media will go back to being the watchdog of government, instead of it's mistress.

My guess is that Obama came onto the national scene as a virtual unknown, whereas Trump has been a media whore for 30+ years. Add to those 30 years the fact that he made his first presidential bones from brash, outlandish stump statements... and it's not 'odd' to me that the media treats them differently. Not at all.

From the 2007 "no drama Obama" campaign to assault charges being filed (and later dropped) against Corey Lewandowsky, it's a tale of two extremes.

Not a bad analogy, to be honest. Considering, drinking your own pee is akin to drinking salt-water, which actually accelerates dehydration, causes delusions and eventually kills you quicker than naturally dying of thirst. So while it might seem like the better option, you're really just killing yourself quicker ... not to mention drinking a bunch of wee.

With all those warts he's managed to do things and say things others simply can't and he gets all the medias attention for free.

In NY Bernie spent 6.8 million or $9.03 per vote
Hillary spent 3.8 million or $3.62 per vote

Trump spent $67,000 about $0.13 per vote.

I'm not a Trump supporter but he's damn good at marketing.

Yes, obama did come onto the scene as a virtual unknown, with the exception of his speech at the 2004 DNC convention. After that, they ignored everything in his past, and actually pushed him on the people. Once he started gaining traction, they started pushing their 'first black president' crap. Since then, the majority of the media have been on his side.

Take the Lewandowski 'assault' as an example. Fields claimed he grabbed her and yanked her down, almost causing her to fall. Video has shown that Lewandowski got in her way, possibly moved her arm from Trumps, but did not pull or knock her off balance at all. The media ran with it because they thought they had dirt on Trump. The media blew it again by having an agenda before they had facts. The charges were dropped because there was no assault to charge him.

Trump is going to win this because he's not 'one of them'. People already know he's kind of a scumbag in his personal life, but neither him nor his kids are drunks, druggies, or have any of the problems most politicians kids have in public. He's a business man, plain and simple.

It's sad you think it's crap. Let's me know who you really are as a person, though.

Anyway, general reply:

It's interesting seeing the GOP slowly warming up to the guy. I wonder if it's because they are coming around, they don't have a choice, or both.

All I know is this: all my friends overseas are writing me messages about if this is a serious campaign or not, and unfortunately I'm telling them yes.

It's gonna be really hard trying to defend a president to my friends and family while this guy potentially sends angry tweets about world leaders after events like a G20 summit and such.

Do your friends and family overseas get a vote?

Do I get to vote in their elections? You know, the over seas elections? No, I don't. So really, their opinion matters to us, how?

Let me answer that for you, it's Hillary.

People keep saying what's wrong with the Republican party... the republican party is running Donald Freakin' Trump and the dems still can't pull away in the polls.. that alone should tell you what relatively moderate people like me think of the democrat options. The dems had a chance with a Jim Webb or a reasonable person to have the biggest landslide in history and instead you ended up in a fight between Grandpa socialist and Hillary the felon...

No, it doesn't. It lets you assume who I am as a person. The thing you keep missing, and something I truly believe, is that we should push for equality. It shouldn't matter one bit if a candidate is black, white, yellow, red, green, male, or female for that matter. That's for the history books, not for glorification in the press. It never mattered to me that obama was black. What really mattered to me was what he said, and what he said led me to believe he was the wrong man for the job. For that, I've been called a racist, while lots of people voted for or against him only because of color. What was your reason?

i've given my reason for voting for him twice plenty of times on this board, and it didn't have to do with color.

if you fail to pay attention, then it isn't my problem.

Clinton vs Bush I wasn't that bad... Heck even Obama vs McCain wasn't horrible, it's a shame there couldn't have been a conservative in the race but I think both are well meaning folks..

I really think we have moved to a point where the kind of person we need as President would never even run.. and if they did, they would get swept away very early on, like we saw this cycle because they aren't willing to get down in the slop and fight with the pigs.

by that logic, you, Arch, should never share your opinion on overseas topics.

ever.

so if that's the criteria you wanna run with, then it's set.

for now on, i will start blasting you every time you open your mouth about another country.

you can say what you want about pulling away from the polls.

but at the end of the day, the dems are still winning.

Jim Webb wouldn't have a shot in hell. by that logic, Carly would've been a landslide too, since we are naming irrelevant candidates.

Good for you. I'd hate to think that figured into your reasoning, seeing as you rail against racism on this board all the time. I don't recall your reason, as it probably wasn't important to me at the time. That's why I asked instead of assuming. Damn shame I can't get the same consideration out of you.

You realize that's the same logic the GOP used when Bush won a first and then a second term right?

If the democrats winning is more important to you than actually getting some decent folks in there who can have some positive change on this country, then YEA.. congratulations, you are winning.. the people are still losing.. but the democrats are winning.. hip-hip-hooray.

He wouldn't have had a shot in hell because he's a reasonable human being.. just like (I won't use Carly) Jim Gilmore, the most reasonable probably of the republican candidates is far too rational to be electable.

i didn't call you racist, though.

so obviously you aren't giving me the same consideration.

what i implied was that you seem to think it wasn't a big deal that we was gonna have a first black president, as thats a pretty big deal in racial equality(or inequality).

damn shame, huh

why? in conservatives point of view and in their beliefs, thats how they felt.

so why would i fault them for that?

why all have our own logic in damn near every decision we make.

also, reasonable human being is subjective.

i thought Kasich was a reasonable guy, and then GM schooled me.

so much for reasonable.

No, you just want to assume you know what type of person I am because I don't think the first black president is a big deal. I'm curious, if Cruz had a chance to win, would you celebrate the first Hispanic president?

And neither Trump nor Hillary will make it any better.

Not speaking for EIH , but personally I understood it was a big deal once it was done. But I felt like true equality was voting for the man because I felt he would do the best job as The POTUS.

thats how the majority feel, though, as far as voting for <insert president>

very few people voted cause the guy is black, or because hilary is female.

i think racial and gender preference when actually voting is overblown a bit.

especially because typically, the only option we ever have is an old white guy to begin with.

the majority will vote because of how they feel.

Pit said most people are voting for their self interest.

thats true, but what ends up happening is that a lot of people have the same self interest, hence why candidates rise and fall.

What da hell?

People from other countries can say and think whatever they want about us. I don't have a problem with that. What I DO have a problem with is someone thinking we should listen to people from other countries, and do what they want us to.

Fairly simple concept, really.

I agree with you GM.. I see, as you probably do as well, FB post after post mocking Trump and telling me why I shouldn't vote for him... what I don't see is a single thing telling me why I SHOULD vote for anybody else.
