Does Burfict play special teams? I'm asking because I don't know.

This website tracks special teams tackles and shows none for Burfict in his career.

Last year Burfict played six total special team snaps. In 2014 he played four total special team snaps. In 2013 he played sixty-six special team snaps. In 2012 he played seventy-two special teams snaps.

Both are different types of players IMO. Burfict would have went day 1/2 if it werent for character issues.

Scooby made the only INT that was mentioned in Hue's presser...supposedly he had his coverage blanketed and Kessler still tried to hit his target which Scooby didn't just break it up but INT'd it.

Means nothing in the long run except possibly some here who say HE CAN'T EVER be considered a 3 down LB because of coverage could very well be WRONG. Talk is cheap lets see how this kid learns and produces.

Fact is he was the 14th draft pick for us - he has a long road ahead. First things first, he has to kick butt on ST if he wants to stick!

Ricky Stanzi, QB? Info? I missed this one and he was mentioned in presser with Hue (?).

How does he fit this group?

PS Found some of his info for past NFL. Anybody got insight. Liked that he is local-ish to Cleveland.

He's been with five teams, guy is like, 29. He's either the next Kurt Warner or the next Ricky Stanzi.

Hue basically admitted he's just a camp arm a few days ago ... he'll be released without question

Oh yeah, maybe it's a situation they bring him in to throw to the receivers, pay him a few bucks and if he wants to, he gets a foot in the door to be an option or if he wants to coach down the road.

I think that Kessler was the only other QB at rookie minie camp, so they needed another arm.

I don't think that either party have more than that in mind.

I would love to this guy to Cleveland-----Zach Mettenberger waived by Titans
A two-year starter in college, the 6-foot-5-inch, 224-pound right-hander possesses the toughness, competitiveness and arm strength to succeed at the pro level.

I would have questions about a guy who couldn't beat out Matt Cassell to be the back-up.... maybe they just wanted experience in their back-up?

I wonder if that reflects the unsigned draft picks too.
If not we will need to make room on the roster as we sign the rest of our draft picks.

Not that I see a problem there.

Ugh. No .... please!

This is a guy who was made by the fact that he could just throw the ball in the general direction of Odell Beckham Jr and Landry Jones, and they would reel it in. He wasn't especially accurate, but as long as it got near them, it was good. (He wasn't inaccurate all the time, but his receivers made many really good to spectacular catches on numerous occasions) The guy makes me look fast by comparison, he seem to have little feel in the pocket, and has a long, slow delivery.

No thanks.

According to multiple sources including Browns staff writer Andrew Gribble and ProFootballTalk, the Browns have claimed kicker Jaden Oberkrom of TCU. I like this signing. He can kick.

Yes claimed him off waivers, originally signed as UDFA by Jaguars.

Jags waived him to add Jeff Linkenbach to their OL depth.

Hey Tony: Should Hue take a shot at [Zach] Mettenberger? He fits the mold needed to be an AFC North QB.

-- Rob, Columbus, Ohio

Hey Rob: Mettenberger has AFC North size (6-foot-5, 236) and a strong arm. But he has no mobility, as he plays the position in cement shoes, and thus is a sack/fumble waiting to happen. I’ll pass, thanks.

hmm...yea I'll wish him on our division rivals instead

We cut some peoples' previous great hope at PK, Brad Craddock, to bring this kid in.

Jaden ....retired?
Reserve/Retired– The retired list is what players are placed upon if they choose to retire rather than honor their contracts. This is more procedural than anything else. The player does not count towards the roster nor do they carry any cap charges as contracts are treated just as if the player was cut for salary cap purposes with prorated bonus money accelerating and being included as “dead money”. Teams do maintain the rights to players on the retired list.
