Rough day today. the question becomes.... was it rough because people have game film on him and have learned his tendencies now? personally, I was never a fan of him. His feet are way to slow to be a QB in the pocket. Plus, he has a lot to learn about how to be a QB.

He seemed to get better later in the game but watching him in the first half he was locking on to his primary receiver and he would wait till that guy got open to throw it or he felt the pass rush then he would take off.

Reading the prevalence of negative postings, it seems clear that a quite a few feel the team is not heading for a winning season, that four wins are more likely than nine, and that the QB situation is the worst in the league. The business side of the house under JH's unrevealing smile has been saying to tank it up for about 6 months now. They know the fans will always be there to fleece.

Do what the Colts did. Just play a really lousy QB. Zero points mean zero wins. Otherwise be prepared, draft day will be full of trade 3 first round pick nonsense. Only 15 more Manziel games left. Go for it!

Fun fact from Thursday Night Football:
Bill Belichick: 16 years NE Head Coach Mike Tomlin: 9 years PIT Head Coach
Brown fans have the patience of a 4 year old... which by the way, is the excat same number of years as the longest-tenured Browns HC in 16 years.
This has been beyond insane.
Belichick and Tomlin both won the Super Bowl in their second seasons.. probably not the best examples for why we should give a coach more than 3 or 4 years when they continue to win 4 or 5 games a year.

Tomlin inherited a team that won a Super Bowl 2 years prior to his arrival, and which had Ben Roethlisberger kin place, and ready to go. Belichick inherited a team that had a winning record in 3 of the 4 years prior to his arrival. Pettine inherited a disaster. I am disappointed that "disaster" applied to today's game far too easily, though.

If we replace the coach again I hope we think outside the box. I fear we will end up hiring someone like Jack del Rio or Jim Caldwell.
Same with the GM. Dig deep.

6 Pro-bowlers is hardly a disaster. It kinda makes me think we had a good team at one point.

Tank for Cardale? I want him but no bad enough to tank a season. I'm curious as to why everyone is fascinated with Cardale. If he wasn't at OSU, would every Browns fan be in love with him as much as they currently are? The guy has played 5 games, I don't want to use a 1st round pick on someone like that. In those 5 games, he played well in 3 and not great in 2. He also doesn't seem to make good decisions when he's forced to think about a throw. I need to see a TON more from him before I'll consider him worthy of a 1st round pick. There are plenty of big-bodied QBs with strong arms, it doesn't mean they're NFL caliber QBs. I think this is a pretty horrid QB class. Of course, this will probably be the year the Browns get the first pick and have to take a QB who won't be worth it. I don't know that this team would have to intentionally tank the season to get the #1 pick, they might take care of that even with maximium effort after seeing the product they put on the field yesterday. I think I predicted 4 wins for them before the season started, I'm not sure they can even reach that benchmark now.

We may not be attempting to tank the season on purpose but after yesterdays effort, lovingly referring to the season as "Sherman" isn't too far from the truth.

I don't even like Cardale starting for tOSU let alone wasting a pick on him ...

Browns are locked into a top two pick assuming that they do not win another game. Titans have strong remaining opponents (which works against a team in NFL draft oder), but so do the Browns. My fuzzy math/intuition tells me that for the Browns to get the first pick, they will have to have a worse record than the Titans due to the differences in their respective divisions.
1 TEN 2 9 0.479 2 CLE 2 9 0.504 3 SD 3 8 0.496 4 DAL 3 8 0.529 5 SF 3 8 0.579
The Browns will probably manage to win a crapfest somewhere. probably Dec 13th 1:00 home game vs 49ers (west coast teams playing at 1pm eastern historically do not do well).

We'd still get Lynch at 2, since the Titans have Mariota. Probably still be able to get Bosa too, since the Titans are reportedly desperate for a LT. On the other hand, they might easily trade out of the top pick because they could still get their LT lower and pick up an additional 2nd round pick. So, someone could jump us for Lynch or Bosa.
I remember some people raving about Baylor's Shawn Oakman last draft season, before he decided to stay in school, saying he was a top 5-10 pick. He must have dropped off this season because Dane Brugler at CBS has him rated a 2nd round pick. In other words, we could possibly end up with Lynch in the 1st and Oakman in the 2nd. Not bad.

I believe this team is designed for failure this season so we get better draft picks next time around. Would the Browns powers-that-be ever admit this? Of course not. If it works, it's a great plan. If not? Same ol' Browns. Regardless of what I think: 'Browns still dead last in ESPN's Power Rankings, despite misinformed explanation'http://www.dawgsbynature.com/2016/5/13/1...ite-misinformed

I wouldn't say that it is "designed" for failure as much as it has been accepted that part of the pain of getting to where we want to be involves knowing that we're going to suck this year, and probably next year, too.... like, perhaps 2-3 wins this year, and maybe 6-7 next year (if things actually click). I don't think anyone in Berea is realistically hoping or expecting for a push above .500 ball until the 2018 season.
By then, this year's class will have plenty of experience and the guys that are going to make it will be coming into their prime while the guys we take next year will be making that big jump from rookie to 2nd year, plus we'll have a crop of rookies. Again, any hope is predicated on things actually clicking - but, I think that is the timeframe that is being looked at.
