I think it's always best to mend fences rather than allowing the hate to continue running roughshod through gigantic holes in the proverbial fence. This isn't America if we aren't constantly hating something. we are one of the most intolerant countries on the planet. I don't know if we're one of the most intolerant countries on the planet, but we do seem to thrive on having 'strong opinions' on things. Hell, I think part of the reason sports are what they are is due to the fact that we just have to be competing over something!
WE DON'T NEED A QB BEFORE WE GET A LINE THAT CAN PROTECT HIM my two cents...

"....then we should apologize to Iraq for what we did to their country in 2001 on false pretenses."
This is a comment I'd expect from either a child or a half-wit. So, let me get this straight... You expect Japan to apologize for the invasion of Pearl Harbor but, when somebody argues that on that expectation the US should apologize for the invasion of Iraq then you deem that person "a child or half wit"?

All war is terrible and an apology is long overdue from all sides for every war. Doesn't the bible say something about forgiving...? Would think all the bible thumpers on here would be overjoyed by this.
I know, peace is a dirty liberal thing because there is no profit in it. I'll keep the rest of my opinion to myself, but if you want to know about a war ask somebody who fought in one if it was good or bad. Then ask them if an apology was due.

Do you honestly think most war vets give a rat's ass about an apology? A simple "Uh, my bad" pales in comparison and doesn't even come close to the seriousness and significance of War. Peace isn't a dirty liberal thing, but apologizing for winning a war that you didn't start certainly is.

Devil's comments about appreciating the military is also wrong, but not surprising in the least.
but i expect nothing less from the ideology that brought us the "muslim kenyan socialist commie, not born in america, constantly leaving out that he's half white and a secret terrrorist" agenda.
happy memorial day. keep your hate going on guys, keep proving me right.

Obama didn't apologize, and he shouldn't apologize. I believe dropping the atom bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki ultimately saved lives. Yeah it's an ugly moment in the history of man, but crappy things happen in war, innocent civilians die and that's just the way it is. Who knows how long ww2 would have lasted if we hadn't (and what might have happened if our enemies had the atom bomb first)? I'm glad the U.S. did it, to be honest.

I was the lucky one in my family, while my brothers , father uncles etc. had to endure it I came of age at a time there as no war ( Vietnam had just ended and we had a time of "peace") and as such I was the first in my family to attend college. As such I have no idea of the horrors of combat as those that I know don't speak of it, and even if they did that would be but a small bit of the nightmares experienced.
But, putting aside the ideological reasons for a conflict ( whether one agrees with the reasoning behind it or not), it seems that once a war is entered into then the object is to degrade, dismantle and defeat the enemy and to that end all available resource's should be applied.
And while collateral damage is problematic it has and always will be a part of war and unless the main focus of an attack is the destruction of the innocent , the unarmed or the uninvolved then I see no reason for apologies.
Now some will read that following this logic we should nuke our enemies no matter who, where or when that is not what I mean to imply certainly all wartime decisions must be made in the context of not only the current situation but also the long term ramifications of said decisions. As an example while we could carpet bomb the middle eats out of existence the long term effects of such actions would 1) not defeat the "enemy" and 2) create more enemies than was destroyed.
Nonetheless the logic holds, war is war and the object is to win and to tat end all resources must be applied.

That's fine, but you dont deliberately go after families, like some politicians have implied.
When we start doing that, we become disgusting animals like we claim our enemies are.

Horse Hockey! I am trying to think of what we don't tolerate in this Country and am hard pressed to come up with things. There is stuff we don't like but intolerant? Horse Hockey!!! This is another reason Americans are not tearing down trees to make boats to escape this place, they would get knocked over by the rest of the world coming in!

In this country, for every sect that's not tolerated by some, they are strongly defended by others that are more than willing to speak out publicly in their defense and attempt to get legislation enacted to accomodate them. In the countries I mentioned, those groups are not tolerated by the government and the vast majority of their populations, and the bigotry and violence committed against them is rationalized or covered up. Nobody runs to the media and/or law enforcement in those countries demanding an explanation. Why? Because it's not tolerated as it is here.

Call it whatever you want, that's what I believe.
We have hatred flowing in this country. Our government is being pulled by both sides, and it consistently looking like its about to collapse.
Instead of progressing, we have radicals from each side dividing our country further and further.
You looking it from only a government structure stand point. I'm looking at it from the top all the way to the bottom.
So I don't agree with you whatsoever, and never will.

We arent event close to being the most intolerent country on the planet. we absolutely are. Nope. In Russia it is a crime to be gay. They put you in jail. In china the internet is extremely censorsed so that only a few government approved sites ae ok. Oh, an if you speak out about the government, you "disappear" In Africa the rape of women is considered normal. Women are sold off to marriage and not able to finish their schooling. Oh and women cant be land owners. Do we even need to talk about North Korea? How about the middle east? That is the most conservate group of countries ever. Or we could talk about Canada. First Nations women are regularly raped and murdered. Now tell me how intolerant we are compared to the rest of the planent? And this is only off the top of my head.

I can come up with a list here in America.
But then I just noticed you mentioned Africa as a country... Even though it's a continent.
Proving once again you have zero idea of what you're talking about.
That doesn't change that fact, by the way, that we have our own ridiculous laws and beliefs here at home.
But keep thinking otherwise. You're doing an awesome job proving how ignorant you are.
Do any of you actually know what you're talking about when it comes to Africa and its countries?Or does your information come from Sarah Crying at 1am for 15 cents a day?

I must have missed where she call Africa a "country".
JMO here, but I do believe the u.s. is a very tolerant country. Is there work to do? Perhaps.
But I guarantee, the u.s. is not one of the least intolerant countries in the world, as you stated.

No argument to fall back on? Obviously you haven't been paying attention. And personal insult? Calling you ignorant isn't personal.
Please, without looking it up on google or siri or any search engine, what's the GDP of Ghana? When did Ethiopia gain its independence? What was DRC known prior to 97?
What is Kenyans main export?
Why were Africans, specifically Congo, not at all pissed when Belgium got attacked by terrorist?
Better you can't answer but one of those questions without looking it up. I bet most people on this board can't.
You can't even understand the broad scope of things.
But as I said before, expect nothing less.

You're the one with a false view of the world. Bet you can't either, but what the hell does that prove anyway? The issue was "tolerant" countries. Not "GDP" of some nation. Heck, I can't tell you the GDP of the U.S. without looking it up. So what? Hey, swish, quick, without looking it up - what's the gdp of Iran? What's the gdp of Switzerland? And tell me why in the hell that even matters. Would you like to be a gay person in Iran? Iraq? Russia? Perhaps you'd like to be a female in the middle east? And, yeah, calling someone ignorant IS personal.

Let's start with religion. The intolerance of religious not Christians, specifically Islam, is ridiculous.
The religious freedom laws are a joke.
It's gotten to the point where we have dumbasses who can't even tell the difference between Muslims and Hindus.
We can go on and on about how Mormons and Jews are treated here.
Or how any minority group is treated here
Up until last year, gay marriage is still illegal.
Look at the nonsense right here in this thread about transsexuals.
Hell, we still have 12 different states that recognize sodomy laws.
And there's a ton of other nonsense crap I can name.
You see, I already made my point, but you couldn't even see that. You think tolerance and laws go together, when the reality is that it's two separate issues.
Ignorance.

You honestly think I'm basing my ENTIRE argument the off ONLY this board?
You're better than that. Seriously, Eve. Stop.
It's a readily available example, nothing more.
People not getting along is an absolute sign of intolerance. You know that. And cultural norms go hand and hand with intolerance of something different.
Laws are the only thing that can be separated, yet even still. I'm sure someone could make a decent argument about how laws in this country affect said tolerance.

Because I read this as you saying we're no better or worse than any other country. Meaning we are pretty close to the intolerance levels of countries you named.

I have plenty of points. But seeing as you have nothing to say, I'll chalk that up to you having nothing meaningful to discuss/debate and crying about how I post.
