I want SA/Portland Kyrie..

I want a combination of Detroit and Game 6 in Boston LeBron..

Hell can I get Love from the Atlanta series as well..

I want the best possible version of everyone, because there's nothing else that matters but THIS GAME..

Bogut was pretty bad in the two games they played in Cleveland. This might actually help the Warriors.

Agreed-- Bogut is actually a really good rim protector. All NBA metrics have their own flaws but there's this: http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/sort/DRPM/position/9

Instead of Bogut, we'll see more of Ezeli, Varejao, and Speights. I'm ok with that.

WINS: "RPM Wins" provide an estimate of the number of wins each player has contributed to his team's win total on the season. RPM Wins include the player's Real Plus-Minus and his number of possessions played.

17 Matthew Dellavedova CLE 76 24.6 1.56 -0.31 1.25 5.01
35 Kyrie Irving CLE 53 31.5 2.01 -3.20 -1.19 1.99

According to this metric (the above-mentioned by Haus) Dellavedova is responsible for 2.5x as many wins as Kyrie was during the regular season.

If the Cavs force a game 7, that's all you can realistically ask for. It'd be a monsterous task trying to win a game 7 on their floor.

Bogut is out the rest of the Finals.

they have zero rim protection now. Festus is trash.

What does this do for Mozgov's minutes?

Without Bogut does GS have anybody that can guard Moz on the block?
Alternatively, is there anyone in the GSsmall ball lineup that Moz can even remotely guard

Drive, drive and drive more. Get Green in foul trouble early.

Bron, Kyrie, Smith. Post up Love. BEAT ON THEM. Hard.

Why would they start calling fouls now?

I didn't say he was a bad player, I said he played two bad games. Also, the Warriors' best lineup does not include Bogut.

According to this metric (the above-mentioned by Haus) Dellavedova is responsible for 2.5x as many wins as Kyrie was during the regular season.

As I made clear, all NBA metrics in isolation have their flaws, this one included.

Also, what you posted was a metric based off the metric that I posted, not quite the same thing. And yes Irving's ranking on either of those is influenced by his horrendously bad defense during the regular season. Real plus-minus. ('real' meaning it takes into account who is on the floor for both teams)

If you want to go by more traditional measures, I could say that Bogut was named second team all-NBA defense last year. Is that better? Or look at our lineups, Delly-Smith-James-Love-Thompson performs quite a bit better than Irving-Smith-James-Love-Thompson (those were our third and first most used lineups this year).

Does that mean I think Dellavedova is a better player than Irving? No! They are just metrics and data points to make informed opinions on, along with the eye test, other stats, etc.

edit: minor correction

Is there a stat for floppers kept? Because Varejao seems committed to doing it anytime somebody is within reach, and blatantly bad at it IMO. Isn't that supposed to be whistled down?

PS He still sux at defense.

Would it be a jinx to start mocking up the screwed up ways we could lose game 6 or 7? For example, being up 10 with 5 mins left and then getting outscored by 15. That might be a bad thing to discuss, but in all previous years I've avoided thoughts like that, maybe it's time we "steer into the skid" and see what happens.

I'm actually not nervous right now. I think it's because I'd probably bet my mortgage payment on the Warriors right now. Until we win, I assume we'll lose.

I gave my tickets to my brother for this game...I just didnt want to go up to Cleveland and see a loss. If it gooes to game 7 I'll be in Cali watching thanks to a good friend I travel with...he is a huge Warrior fan for like the last 2yrs thumbsdown but has been a great friend for 20yrs so I overlook the questionable allegiance to the Warriors.

My last trip up to Cleveland I bought a car and drove back...my wife was pretty mad...but I saw a car that I have always regretted getting rid of and it was a touch nicer then the one I had.

I dont drive for health reasons but do have my license so the wife had good reason to be mad....but the damn thing called out to me.

I just have a hard time believing they can come back and win...oh well next year right superconfused

Sounds like battered fan syndrome lol... I have it too

I don't believe in jinxes and such but if we're going to go with it, the jinx should come from talking about all the reasons the Cavs should win. BTW the Cavs are favored by 2 in game 6.

Good hope my brother has a good time tonight. I think if Bogut is out it will be huge...that guy just seems to beat on the cavs on defense...Thompson will be happy if Bogut is out me thinks.

Think the wife and I will go out and watch from the sports bar ...and I hope I'll get to make the trip to Cali for game 7.

I dont think they will win but hey at some point things have to click for the Cavs right??

Yeah I think people are glossing over Bogut being out. He's not one of their big 3 but he's still a pretty important player. Having a good rim protector is huge in the NBA. Him being out makes it easier for LeBron Kyrie etc. to get to the hole.

You would think that at some point, things have to click for the Cavs and Cleveland fans in general. You would think..

Huge game tonight as everyone is aware. Win tonight, and the mental blow to GS psyche would be huge. Statistics still on GS side, no team has ever come from 3-1 in finals and only 2 teams have pushed a game 7, but those teams didn't have lebron, and as I've said before, I wouldn't want to be in a game 7 and between Lebron and a ring. Win tonight and I think GS would lose some of that swagger

Bogut is a big loss for GS for the way that the cavs play...if we're attacking, if we're just jumpshooting then GS will be fine as Green is the best defender on both teams, he's undersized to play inside but does well, but he's no match for lebron and kyrie with the way they finish at the rim.. Key is attack. Getting Love established in the post early would wreck GS game plan and pay dividends for us as the game progresses.. I hope thats what we try to do.

Prediction:

Golden State 108
Cleveland 99

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Winning this game would be pretty historic in of itself. We'd be one of 3 teams in our situation to force a game 7.
