I knew what you were doing with the negativity, I have tried that in the past, but for me it never worked. Glad it worked for you!

I watched the game 2500 miles away in Portland, Oregon with probably 150+ Cavs/Browns/Indians/NE Ohio transplants. We watched it at our local Browns Backers bar, which is as good as any place in Portland to watch it. It was crazy. Tears were shed, glasses were broken (by accident from dancing on the tables), many high fives and loads of hugs. But, I am sure nowhere near as crazy as the 216.

Incredible. I am 47 and this is the first Cleveland championship I have seen in my lifetime. It erases all the painful losses and shame. We can now hopefully move forward with a lot of pressure off our shoulders and see what happens next. Still early but, the Tribe are looking great and hopefully we will see real progress with the Browns. Being more of a football fan...the day the Browns win it all is the day I really will feel like a tremendous weight has been lifted. But, until then....wow, what a great moment.

Thank you Cavaliers.

CLEVELAND ROCKS!

Yeah, I wanted to tip my hand a bit, but I was only doing that because it worked the previous two games.

It was funny, all week I was getting signs that the streak could finally end. A few posters on here predicted that this is how Cleveland would win it (coming back from 3-1, nothing being easy for our first title), a guy like Dustin Johnson winning the US Open today, and I was watching "Finding Dory" today with my girls and there were a TON of Cleveland references in it. It just felt "right" but I wouldn't let myself get too confident.

Still.....stunned.

I always wondered how it would feel to finally see Cleveland win a title after waiting so many years.

Better than I had imagined...very dreamlike

Not sure I'll be able to go to sleep tonight. Brian Windhorst just said that the Cavs were stopping over in Vegas tonight for a party ... and I'm sitting here thinking, "hmmm, that's only a few hours away" nanner

Actually, I was thinking about the Cubs first. It hurt watching the White Sox, Red Sox, SF Giants, Seahawks, Mavs, and even back when the Buccaneers broke their title droughts. Being in Chicago, I've heard their cries for 16+ years and I secretly didn't want them to win last year and this year if the Cavs lost again. I can now root for them. I won't bandwagon onto their title run, I'll just hope they do it.

You won't when it's against the Tribe!

Wrigleyville will be crazy if the Cubs pull it off. It was crazy the last few years when the Hawks won and they don't even really play anywhere close to there.

I think if I'm a Cub fan I'm probably feeling inspired by this Cavs run. If Cleveland can pull it off, so can the Cubs. Plus they have a really really good team and a great manager.

Yeah, I was thinking of the Cubs too. Figured if we could do it, they could do it too.

That's a long way away. smile

Yeah, if the Indians and Cubs were in the World Series, I'd be pulling for the Tribe hard. If they were to lose, I'd be able to take the loss with a smile now.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking too. I was hoping hard for a Cubs/Indians series this year because one of us would HAVE to win. I'd love a Tribe win and would root hard for it, but I could easily stomach a Cubs win over them if it came to that now.

We took my kids to see that today as well. I couldn't help but think that it was positive that a couple of the characters actually wanted to go to Cleveland. laugh

I've always been a superstitious guy, not because I really thought it affected the outcome, but what if it did...this NBA playoffs, I started out thinking about things like what color shirt I wore and how I watched the games but I finally got the point where I just didn't care. They were going to do it, or not no matter what I did and it was very liberating. laugh

Congratulations, Cleveland, and the Cleveland Cavaliers, it's been a truly awesome ride!

One more little stat tidbit before I head off to bed (like I can sleep after this)...

For the entire 2016 Finals, Lebron led all players from both teams in total points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. He is the first player in NBA history to lead all players from both teams in all five categories for an entire playoff series, regardless of round or series length.

Crazy.

Not gonna lie, when Klay hit a 3 with about 6:30 left, I started getting sick to my stomach thinking the splash bros we're gonna start heating up like they did against OKC.

I couldn't help but to think back to LBJs 1st championship with the heat and how much it hurt.it felt like getting Draymond Greened in the junk.Last night was a complete 180 of emotion compared to then.

I think I'm still in shock and it will take a day or 2 to really sink in.the curse is over.no more battered fan syndrome for this fella.if the cavs can do it so can the Browns and Indians

The most gutsy performance I've seen..the Cavs clawing their way back to win the NBA Championship. As a longtime Cleveland sports fan, it feels like the monkey is off our back.

Now, maybe the Browns and Indians can use the example the Cavs set to inspire them to never give up..never ever give up.

Congrats to all the Cavs...

Oh my gosh, at the endI was jumping up and down when LBJ split the free throws at the line to make it a 93-89 4 point game, can't really describe the emotions there.

At the start of the 4th quarter, I paused the TV. I went out to my patio, turned my phone off and laid it face down on the patio table, as if turning my phone off wasn't enough. I went to ESPN.com on my iPad and "watched" the score change until it was 85-83 Warriors with about 6:30 to play. I closed the webpage and started reading a book I had started a couple of days ago. I just couldn't bear watching it. At 7:30 I told myself I would check the score at 8. Upon opening ESPN.com, I convinced myself that I was fully expecting to see a headline and picture showing the Warriors had won. At 7:47, I figured the game was over and I couldn't take it much longer. So I told myself I would open the webpage at 7:50. I paced around the backyard for 3 minutes, sat down at the patio table and wondered if I really wanted to do it.

I took a deep breath, started the iPad and hit the Safari button. I had never closed ESPN.com and so the page opened immediately but had to refresh. I saw these words: BREAKING NEWS...then something about the Cavs winning. Then the quote "Cleveland, this one is for you!" I was dazed. I walked inside the house and started balling. My wife just didn't get it and kind of put a damper on the whole thing. My daughter wanted me to make her chocolate milk. LOL. But I couldn't move and I could barely breath. I started up my phone and it was blowing up with texts. I started watching the fourth then finally just fast forwarded to the celebration. I've watched the celebration for so many teams. It felt surreal watching a Cleveland team do it.

I wanted this more for the city of Cleveland than anything else. I abandoned the Cavs in college after the Price/Daugherty era had come to an end. I don't deserve to call them my own. But my family roots run deep in Cleveland and I wanted this for all of them. I wish my grandpa, who passed away in 2013, could have seen this. To all the diehards...Excel, candy, sperg...and anyone I missed, congratulations. You guys always stuck by the team. Sperg predicted LeBron would come home and he did. I'll never forget that.

I lived and died with the Cavs growing up. After Bernie, Price was my hero. And although I didn't remain diehard, I was diehard the city of Cleveland and I am always diehard family. I think that's why the emotions for me were so much. This Cavs win feels like all the teams won last night, Browns and Indians too. It just feels that big.

The city of Cleveland is a champion. Wow. It almost seems like it's not real.

I was and still am in shock. Total Shock.. SHOCK I say.

I thought the Cavs could win against Oklahoma if it came to that, but no way did I think there was any chance they could take the Warriors. Just amazing..

Cavs win the Championship

Tribe in 1st place

And dare I say, some hope from the Browns....

I can't really describe my emotions from the entire 4th quarter. It was a roller coaster. I was pacing and sweating.

There was a time between like 3 minutes left and 1 minute left (score was tied) when both teams were exhausted and coming up empty. That was incredible.

And then Lebron's block.

And then Kyrie's shot.

And then Love's defense.

And then a sight I never thought I'd see: we were celebrating.

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Never thought about it this way but the big 3 in that order sealed the game for the Cavs.

That is truly cool. Believeland now more than ever. Hope this shuts down some of the dog piling on we have gotten from major media. Since it has never happened it can never happen is put in a long overdue grave.

So proud as a fan now! What a long uphill slog. Incredible guts.

Say hi to JFF in Vegas. This is special. Love to watch that party. Playing with house money. How much do they get for this? Enough to go to Vegas I bet. LOL

Thanks, Cavs!

Not to take anything away from Kevin, because that dude was playing the defense of his life there, but Curry was taking a three there no matter what and it cost him. If Curry goes to the hole, the script might be flipped. He admitted as much in the post game.
