When will this end? When will people realize that violence does nothing but bring violence back to them? This is an absolute horror show. frown

This is just today, in Cleveland.

My prayers to those who are left behind to mourn these who were callously murdered.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported they heard gunshots and saw an unknown person running from the area.

The incident is being investigated.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 19-year-old Cleveland man died Sunday after he was shot on a street corner on the city's East Side, the man's mother said.

Jonathan A. Peters died at University Hospitals Case Medical Center, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner.

Peters was standing at the corner of Earle Avenue and Lakewood Road when an unidentified man pulled up in a vehicle between 11:30 a.m. and noon, witnesses told a cleveland.com reporter.

The man in the vehicle said something to Peters and Peters tried to run away. The man then opened fire, shooting Peters several times. One of the bullets hit Peters in the head, a witness said.

Several witnesses said they heard six to eight gunshots.

"I'm deeply saddened," Peters' mom said. "My son was a good boy."

Investigators said Sunday night that a black pickup containing three men was involved in the shooting. One man got out of the pickup and argued with Peters. The man shot Peters while Peters was walking away, police said.

The shooter's identity is unknown, police said.

Friday night was busy for Cleveland police, who were called to multiple locations for shootings on the city's east side.

Officers report that five people were injured during a shooting at The Agora, a well-known music venue at 5400 Euclid Ave. Not too far from The Agora, at E. 55th and Payne Avenue, three other people were shot, including two men and one woman.

Those are two of the six separate shootings that took place Friday night.

One of them involved a woman who was fatally shot multiple times on E. 117th and Sellers.

Three other shootings include a 24-year-old man shot in the back at 12309 Phillips Ave.; a man shot multiple times at E. 30th and Superior Ave.; and a man shot at E.64th and St. Clair Avenue.

The 117th and Sellers incident was the only fatal. The conditions of those involved in the other five incidents are unknown at this time.

The Republican National Convention begins Monday in Cleveland.

I really like how they ended the report with a reference to the RNC.

It is a sad indictment of me and the times in which I live but the first thing that jumped out at me from that article is that it didn't mention the race of the victims or of any suspects... Don't get me wrong, I'm GLAD it didn't because that shouldn't be the most important part of the story... I'm just so used to seeing it, that it struck me as odd that it wasn't mentioned at all.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 2-year-old girl shot in the head and arm outside her East Side home Friday continues to fight for her life, the girl's uncle said Sunday.

Alaya Brown was in her 21-year-old mother's arms outside the family's home in the 4100 block of East 146th Street when a gunman opened fire, the uncle said.

Alaya underwent brain surgery Friday at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, where she remains in critical condition in the pediatric intensive care unit.

"She's fighting for her life," the uncle said. "We're distraught. Most of us are at a loss for words. It was just so sudden and unexpected."

Alaya raised her arm in self-defense, her uncle said. The bullet first went through her arm, slowing it down before it hit her in the head.

The bullet cracked Alaya's skull. The right side of her brain is dead, and she is blind in one eye, he said.

"She was playing; her mom was holding her," the uncle said. "We're just hurt that this happened."

The gunman, who was driving a silver Toyota Camry, was talking to Alaya's mother for several minutes before the shooting, the uncle said. Another car drove up, and there may have been words exchanged because the car couldn't pass by, he said.

Both cars started to drive away, and the gunman started shooting. Alaya's uncle said the man in the Camry was aiming directly at his sister and niece.

"He deliberately, purposely and intentionally shot them," the uncle said. "I don't know why, but I know he did."

The uncle said he doesn't know the gunman, but he has seen him around the neighborhood.

A bullet grazed Alaya's mother in the arm, and the gunman fled in the Camry, the uncle said.

The shooting happened around 7 p.m., police said. There have been no arrests.

Alaya was born premature and has battled epilepsy and diabetes for her entire short life, family members said.

She had trouble walking and talking, and seizures before the shooting.

"We are just taking it hour-by-hour, day-by-day," the uncle said. "Please pray for my niece and my family."

Interesting. There is a ton of outrage when cops shoot armed black people, but those very same people don't give a damn about a poor, innocent girl being shot.

Hypocrites. You are going to lose my--and others like me---support.

They lost my support some time ago. I don't see a willingness in the community to do anything, so I no longer care.

Exactly. How many have even spoke about this innocent soul? Where is the outrage? Where is the anger? Where is the hate? Where is the concern? Where are all those who are so quick to convict an officer of this land without even having the facts?

But yet, they claim no double standard.

Imagine that. Imagine that.

If BLM, then so does the life of this precious little innocent girl. Shout it out!!!

Go ahead man - I just did!
