"read in the PD today too that Shea is rumored to come back, which seemed odd, but oh well. I just see Dinkins gettin poop canned since he's mostly a ST'er."
Two Parter...Shea - heard he was to possibly join us cause he knows the offense and we will need a body (better prowess in the system the better) for mini-camp, and possibly Training Camp until KW2 is back 100% but somebody to take up his reps and they figured he'd be good as he is familiar with the system.
Dinkins - mostly a Special teamer...is exactly why he will remain on the roster...just exactly when are we going to utilize that 3rd TE unless there is an injury? He is not just some scrub Special Teamer...he's was signed here last season cause he was a Special Teamer extraordinaire for the Ravens. And our ST definately elevated with his acquisition among others. I think Special Teams is the KEY for who is our #3 TE.

Your roster looks good, (and it actually looks like a decent roster,) only I'm guessing that Anderson stays instead of Dorsey because I figure the determining priority will be performance on field rather than in the film room. JMHO
I think so too but wasn't going to nit-pick some guys roster like some do.
Anderson will be our starting qb opening day.

I am not too sure...i think charlie will be out #2...and in order for him to be #2 he has to be starter on day 1 so then quinn can move up and frye can drop down 1...it wouldn't make sense to start anderson and then send him to #3 unless you plan on gettin rid of frye...

well i just hope either way charlie stays with the team as a back up!!!
Do you think quinn n frye can exist? frye is almost screwed cuz he is going up against a 1st round draft pick...so his best shot would be #2 after next year...

I thought the whole thing with dinkins was he was a blocking tight end
We're trying to throw the ball downfield and he checked the ball down to Trent Richardson and the Indians on the choice.

With a stronger, more experienced supporting cast, defensive end Melila Purcell won't have the weight of the world on his shoulders. REBECCA BREYER | The Honolulu Advertiser
A natural athlete, Melila Purcell was named all-Western Athletic Conference honorable mention as a sophomore and second team as a junior. He started eight games last season, playing in 10. He finished with 34 tackles last season and 74 two seasons ago. Last season, the 6-foot-5, 280-pounder was named the recipient of the Ben Yee Most Inspirational Player Award

Q: Who's been the biggest help so far in minicamp?
A: Right now, everybody, the whole D-line has been a big part. If they see that something's wrong they'll come and tell me and tell me stuff I need to work on, like my footwork, they're teaching me a whole bunch of stuff so basically all the D-linemen and the coaches getting on me and telling me what I need to do.
Q: What's it like working with one of the league's up-and-coming stars in linebacker Kamerion Wimbley, who led the team with 11 sacks as a rookie last year?
http://starbulletin.com/2007/06/03/sports/story03.html
I don't know what his weight is. He has been listed as much as 289 and as little as 266. These weights are all from different sources and different times in his career.
The fact is he is slow and is not good in lateral pursuit. He is working with the D line now and has not mentioned being moved to OLB. Just because a DE is small doesn't mean he can move to OLB. I think it's wishful thinking by you to think he has a shot in hell to make this team as an OLB. The only way he makes the team is as a special teamer, something he hasn't done much of, ever. This guy is a long term project for the PS.

I think we'll keep 4 safeties with Adams also making the roster and battling Hamilton for the 3rd safety job. Heck, in 2005 we kept 5 safeties at first until they cut Jameson for drug testing.

You really believe Rac isn't sure of anything? He well knows the skillset of his QB's... \And just as we have discussed/argued about the strengths/weaknesses of all of them, the coaches KNOW what those guys have and don't have...they're there all the time, they see what intelligence each one has.. They just aren't gonna go public with all the details.. I' ve heard about Frye and DA...and DA doesn't have the brightest bulb in the package.

I think RAC knows who his team is gonna be... atleast the starter and the backup... anything after that.. which is the depth of the team is the only question mark.. and that is always the case..

Guys on our Team??? I always go by the weight listed on our Browns Site Roster. They have been pretty accurate in the past.
Although Harrisons still at 199 which was the weigh in for last season.
So I don't know how accurate the rookies are....I was assuming that they weighed them all in as they reported for Rookie Camp...Training Camp is always the official weigh in...we'll see then - Upward he's going for DE on our team...Downward its OLB. I'm thinking 280 up definate DE...260 down definate OLB. 270 and I'll still be confused...lol
I just see on our roster - 6'5" 268 for McGinest and 6'5" 269 for Purcell which makes me think that is where he's going.

Maybe that is RAC's problem....he already knows.....but this season is different...I don't think he has 100% say on who starts on O like a normal head coach.

Barclay won't come close. Minter maybe, but I don't think he'll make it over McDonald - if DeMario makes it then he'll have to beat out either Holly or K.Wright. If Baxter comes back then it will be really hard for him to make it.

Plus McDonald played CB, FS, SS, and PR his senior year. Versatility will get you the nod over a guy who only plays one spot in the NFL if you are neck and neck. I've heard good reviews for both Minter and McDonald, but McDonald has no injury history and could conceivably play safety some for us too.

I'm saying, if there is an injury and we need a player at a position like safety, then McDonald can step in. It certainly seems to happen a lot with this team, I mean who thought that Brodney Pool would start that many games at RCB last year?

Brodney Pool is also a day one pick... i doubt if they let a 5th round rookie start even w/ injuries... They would pick up someone else..

I still think he is going to play DE but I am rooting for him extra hard. I found out tonight that he is a cousin to my cousin by marriage. She is a cute little Somoan girl who has a very large family.

What pick was Asante Samuel and Randal Gay? Weren't they 2nd day guys whom came in during their rookie season. Didn't Lehan start for us against the Bengals when he was a rookie along with Leigh Bodden (UDFA). It's how you match up to your teammates that matters not so much ur draft status when you're on the team. At least that generally should be the case. (With 2nd day guys, i know 1st round picks generally always are given a shot)

I'm not saying he's gonna start as a rookie, but he'll make it over one position players like Minter, who is essentially a rookie 5th round pick too. I think McDonald is a better prospect than Minter anyway. Good problem to have though.
