People won't respect him regardless of what he says.
But since he won the election
Twice
That means the majority likes him. And that's all that matters. Obama is respected by people around the world.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
I have still yet to see either party's reps or the candidate themselves talk about their failures or even acknowledge that they've made mistakes in the past. They act like their missteps don't exist or they try to cover them up. That makes me directly NOT want to vote for you. And for either party, I don't want to hear you bashing the other because it serves no purpose. It may be good for entertainment but you're not talking about your own policies, so ultimately its a waste of breath I think.
I bet nobody saw this on any of the major news stations. Riots at the DNC? If you're going to watch the video, turn your volume down first. There's some yelling/screaming at the start, no swearing though
There was problems like this at the RNC, with westboro.
The reasons those are under reported is because it's not a big deal.
I didn't see you report on anything negative about the RNC, unless of course it was about blacks.
Good job staying balanced...

I know there were some minor scuffles and disruptions outside the RNC, but I did not see anything on as big of a scale as what I linked to above. If it happened, show me. I could have sworn that a while back, you yourself even wrote that nothing major went down at the RNC.

There's a higher-quality video in here (it shows more of the crowd), complete with burning the U.S. flag, lighter fluid, and a completely oblivious protester who tries to stomp on said lighter fluid soaked burning flag and catches herself on fire.
once again, people protest and do these things all the time...it's why it's called a protest.
no big deal.
when cars start getting flipped, and the riot gear comes out looking like downtown berlin after a soccer match, let me know.
til then, it's no big deal.

What I see in the protests videos at the DNC videos I posted is a large and hostile crowd complete with people trying to scale the fence into the DNC, flag burning, and minor clashes with police. I think that is worthy of being posted in the DNC thread. If you don't agree, that's too bad.

Did you ever stop and think WHO is burning the U.S. flag, whether it be at the RNC, DNC, or anywhere else? Does it matter to you? Who do they support? I couldn't tell you for sure but we all know who they aren't voting for: Republicans. It's not like anybody who supports Trump was burning a U.S. flag at the RNC. Take from that whatever you will.
I really don't care who was burning the flag, as it's highly offensive no matter who does it.
I'm simply observing the fact that you are completely one sided in your nonsense right now.
Even 40 shows more unbiased articles and post than you do.
You didn't complain about the ruckus from the KKK or westboro baptism church, but seem to take personal delight in slamming blacks and other lefties.
But you're right. It's a message board. Feel free to be one sided.

I agree about the flag burning.
I think that the KKK and Westboro Baptist are despicable. I have never supported either and never will. See how easy that is?
Black Lives Matter comes up a lot because there are actually people out there who support them. Doesn't matter how racist they are. Doesn't matter how much violence is committed by their supporters. Doesn't matter how many businesses they loot or highways they shut down. Doesn't matter what their awful rhetoric they spit out. I don't like the double standards.
Don't conflate blacks with the group Black Lives Matter. Not all blacks support that group, and many of its followers are not black.

Saying things like this is why people don't respect him.
He's been elected twice.. So your statement about him being not respected has little to no weight.... Apparently, the majority of people disagree with you..

I did on NBC this morning.. It was no better or worst than what happened last week in cleveland.. nothing to see here.
Thanks for sharing. I have become disillusioned with mainstream media. I did flip through the channels last night and checked a few news websites this morning and didn't see anything about it. I'm glad one of the big stations had some coverage on it.

Apparently it's more of a guideline nowadays, but hey.

It's Gary>Hilary>death>trump, in that order of voting.
But right now I'm torn on voting for Gary just out of protest. Because while I believe he's a good candidate, unfortunately *throwing up on my mouth* he doesn't really have a shot at winning anything.

Here is a Handy List of Hillary's Trillion Dollar Tax Increases
It's the final day of the DNC convention in Philadelphia and Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton is set to take the stage tonight as she tries to redefine herself in front of millions of American voters.
Will she talk about policy? Her upbringing? How she's just like everyone else? We aren't quite sure, but one thing is for certain: If she makes it to the White House, you'll be paying more in taxes. A whopping $1 trillion more.
Our friends over at American's For Tax Reform, who launched HighTaxHillary.com last year, have made a list of Hillary's tax proposals just in time for her big moment later tonight.
Income Tax Increase - $350 Billion: Clinton has proposed a $350 billion income tax hike in the form of a 28 percent cap on itemized deductions.
Business Tax Increase -- $275 Billion: Clinton has called for a tax hike of at least $275 billion through undefined business tax reform. According to the Clinton campaign document, "Hillary will fully pay for these [Infrastructure] investments through business tax reform."
"Fairness" Tax Increase -- $400 Billion: According to her published plan,Clinton has called for a tax increase of "between $400 and $500 billion" by "restoring basic fairness to our tax code." These proposals include a "fair share surcharge," the taxing of carried interest capital gains as ordinary income, and a hike in the Death Tax. But there are even more Clinton tax hike proposals not included in the tally above. Her campaign has failed to release specific details for many of her proposals. The true Clinton net tax hike figure is likely much, much higher than $1 trillion.
Capital Gains Tax Increase -- Clinton has proposed an increase in the capital gains tax to counter the "tyranny of today's earnings report." Her plan calls for an overly complex, byzantine capital gains tax regime with six brackets for those whose total taxable income puts them in the top 39.6 percent bracket. Her campaign has not said how much this will increase taxes.
Tax on Stock Trading -- Clinton has proposed a new, unquantified tax on stock trading. The tax increase would only further burden markets by discouraging trading and investment. Inevitably, costs associated with this new tax will be borne by millions of American families that hold 401(k)s, IRAs and other savings accounts.
"Exit Tax" - Rather than reduce the extremely high, uncompetitive corporate tax rate, Clinton has proposed a series of measures aimed at inversions including an "exit tax" - on income earned overseas. The term "exit tax" is used by the campaign itself. This proposal would completely fail to address the underlying causes behind inversions. Her campaign document describing this proposal says it will raise $80 billion in tax revenue, but claims some of the $80 billion will be plowed into tax relief. It does not specify a dollar amount.
Last night Vice President Joe Biden tried to paint Hillary Clinton as a champion of the middle class. Her tax proposals prove the opposite.
Well, it looks like she's learned the Bernie math. I love the way these tax revenue projections are based on people/corporations keeping their money in these vehicles that they want to increase taxes on.

But right now I'm torn on voting for Gary just out of protest. Because while I believe he's a good candidate, unfortunately *throwing up on my mouth* he doesn't really have a shot at winning anything.
Swish, here are my thoughts on that.
If the millions of American who say I am not voting for Gary because he has no chance to win and I'd be wasting my vote would actually vote for him then he would have a chance and the vote would mean something.
Even if he doesn't win this election, it would send a strong message that we the people are sick of the doggy doo the republicans and democrats keep trotting out there. May make a 3rd party regularly relevant in the near future.
The problem is with the American mindset. We want to be on the winning side. That's why the polls are so influential. Undecided voters will be swayed to vote for the candidate who is leading.

Well I watched it being covered first by NBC then on CNN and then on Fox.. Coverage was about the same except Fox of course made it sound like 100's of people out of control but later changed it to the teens.. No real surprise there.
Honestly, I still don't know what actually happened or how many were involved.. But Clearly, Fox made it sound worse than anyone else did. FWIW
