Watching the commercial for the new movie, Nancy Drew, brought back bad memories of something so awful I feel I need to share with the world.

I am very ashamed of something I did back in the tenth grade.

I was going steady with a girl on my cross country team. On the way to districts she broke my heart. That's where the part that I'm ashamed of happened. I remeber now that when this was happening I was listening to my boom box. The song that was playing was Air Supply's " All outta Love". Hear's the really awful part, It was on cassette, a cassette that I owned . May God and the rest of you forgive me.

Reminds me some of Van Wilder...when he is all bummed at the end and the young freshman comes in and says something to the fact of "Thats a cool song, who sings it????" And of course all of us OLD people go DOH!!!!!

She dumped you on the bus on the way to the district championships? What a low-life hussy... Hopefully you tripped her or put something in her socks to make her feet itch... That's just wrong...

I know that would have made me feel better.. ... well, that and a couple good Adam Ant tunes...

Does that mean that I shouldn't tell anyone that my first ever concert was Journey........and that I even held up a lighter as I sang along .

Man, that just brought back some good memories, I even just started singing (quietly)

Along those lines, does that mean I shouldn't tell people that MY first concert was Michael Jackson? (helluva show...8th row...thanks Pepsico!)

Pdawg~I'm so ashamed that you've admitted this. *shakes head* I thought you had better taste than this. (checks room...whew! Air Supply records hidden out of plain view)

I'll admit something.

I have Air Supply: Greatest hits...............On CD, meaning I bought it long after they were off the radio.

Do I care, nope. Never cared what people thought, I like what I like, and that song "All Out Of Love' reminds me of a couple skate with the cutest girl when I was like 10 or 12. Good memories.

PS-I don't own any ABBA, but I do own the Grease soundtrack.

Since we're all just letting things out:

    1) I have the ABBA greatest hits, and I like it (I even know the names of the people in ABBA);
    2) My first concert I ever went to was New Kids on the Block when I was in 5th grade. (Disclaimer: I did NOT like New Kids on the Block, although I do sing their songs sometimes at karaoke. My mom and sisters went, and I went along. To tell you the truth, it was actually a pretty good show with lasers, etc.);
    3) I saw Peter, Paul & Mary in concert when I was in high school (at Kent State on May 4)

I can handle the Peter, Paul and Mary.... They were a radical group when they were popular. Their songs were what made Dylan cool.... ( I know..I'm showing my age...) but ABBA and New Kids.... Aaarrghhh...

Ahh yes,, very painful,,

But since we are admiting to things,,, Perhaps it's time I admitted to having gone to a Barry Manilow concert....

Now wait, before you get all crazy on me,, remember, it was the 70's, I was single and was dating a total babe,,, she liked Manilow and later, I got lucky,,, so I really just took one for the team,,,,,,,,
