I'm sorry about this, but please tell me you aren't comparing Trump to FDR? Please tell me you aren't doing that.

The man who says, a guy gave me a Purple Heart.. He said it was a real one.. Only to have the guy tell reporters that he never told Trump that it was real.. That's the guy you want to compare to FDR... Seriously?

Trump Spokesperson Blames Obama for Khan’s Death — Four Years Before He Became President (Video)

https://www.yahoo.com/tv/trump-spokesperson-blames-obama-khan-death-four-years-020736406.html

A Donald Trump spokesperson just got caught trying to blame Barack Obama for something he couldn’t possibly have had anything to do with, and Twitter is not letting her live it down.

Katrina Pierson appeared on CNN for an interview with Wolf Blitzer about Trump’s continued war of words with the parents of slain soldier Capt. Humayun Khan, and said Obama’s changes to the “rules of engagement” in Iraq likely cost the soldier his life.

The only problem, of course, is that Khan died in 2004, when George W. Bush was president, and Obama was just a state senator in Illinois.

Twitter caught on to the goof right away, and devised the hashtag #KatrinaPiersonHistory, which is being used to place blame for other historical events on Obama.

“The South was totally winning the Civil War, but then Obama issued a ‘Stand down’ order,” joked one user.

“According to Trump spox Katrina Pierson, were it not for President Obama’s failed policies, Abraham Lincoln would still be alive,” said another.

Critics say Trump went too far when he attacked Humayun’s parents Khizr and Ghazala Khan, whose son died after saving hundreds of his fellow soldiers.

Khizr Khan — who criticized Trump for his proposed ban on Muslims entering the U.S. during the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia last week — is now appealing to Republican voters, urging them to disavow their nominee.

“This candidate is void of empathy, so I will continue to reach out to Republican voters to refrain from voting for this candidate,” Khan told NBC News on Monday. “He needs to mend his way.”

come on PDR... which of these quotes can you see Trump ever saying?

Hey Swish, at first I thought this must have been a satire piece, then I listened to the video,, Man, talk about self destruction. Trump and his team are doing themselves in almost every day.

There are plenty of reasons to beat up on Obama.. No need to just make stuff up..

I don't think she lied, I just think she's stupid.. How hard was it to check on when this soldier died?

Those Trump sayings (if that's what they are) aren't anywhere near as profound.

Quote:
"When somebody challenges you, fight back. Be brutal, be tough."

What, you don't take a moment to figure out why they challenged you? Sorta like fighting back and being brutal to Mr and Mrs. Khan? Is that what he means?

Quote:
"You know the funny thing, I don't get along with rich people. I get along with the middle class and the poor people better than I get along with the rich people."

First off, the wealthy don't hang around with Trump because he's not like them. they see him as a fake. Take the Kochs and Warren Buffett.., They want nothing to do with him.

Quote:
"Experience taught me a few things. One is to listen to your gut, no matter how good something sounds on paper. The second is that you're generally better off sticking with what you know. And the third is that sometimes your best investments are the ones you don't make."

On this I agree with him,, he should stick with what he knows,, like how to force small businesses into bankruptcy....He's really good at that.

If he thinks it's going to be easy to run a country, he'll find out how wrong he is in a hurry...

Quote:

Ok, I'll buy this one.. Profound no, but accurate and it has some value.

The article is a little north of 500 words. It hardly goes into great detail about anything. I don't think the writer knows that Presidential decisions aren't the dichotomy of "good" and "bad". But fall more on a gigantic continuum.

Also, the whole thing about advisers are laughable considering all Presidents have filled their cabinets with bad advisers. We've had ex-Oil on our EPA boards. Bill McKibben has been THE leading environmentalist in America for the past decade, but he will never be put on a cabinet. Instead you'll see someone from Exxon. The Head of The Blackstone Group wants to be our Treasurer, under Hillary, not someone who is good for people, but a shadow bank leader.

All in all the blog post makes sense if you simplify the President's power to answering yes no questions.

You had 12 years to quote FDR and only 12 months of TRUMP!

and yes, they are direct Trump quotes.

If that's all you got, then you got nothing.

Besides, I think you could quote Trump for 50 years and still never find anything profound to quote.. Just quotes you can laugh at.

Example:

"I can shoot a person on 5th ave and not loose a single vote" (not an exact quote, but close)

How come you didn't bring that quote up?

As long as you refuse to see facts and remain staunchly anti Trump, I would expect nothing else from you.

You made some statements and I proved you wrong. You will get over it.

Donald Trump raises $80 million in July, has $37 million war chest

Donald Trump's campaign grew its fundraising significantly in the month of July, announcing a total of approximately $80 million raised. The campaign reported ending the month with approximately $37 million in cash on hand.

The numbers mark a sharp uptick from June, when Trump's campaign raised about $51 million.

"We are extremely proud of our 69 percent growth in small dollar donations which shows the broad based support of over one million donors across America," said Steven Mnuchin, the Trump campaign's finance chairman, in a release.

What about a candidate who wants to use nuclear weapons at the drop of a hat? People call Hillary hawkish, yet this morning you get Trump going off about "If we have nuclear weapons, why can't we use them?

These debates will be glorious.

Donald Trump Trump reportedly asks why US can't use nukes: MSNBC
3 Hours Ago|01:20
Donald Trump asked a foreign policy expert advising him why the U.S. can't use nuclear weapons, MSNBC's Joe Scarborough said on the air Wednesday, citing an unnamed source who claimed he had spoken with the GOP presidential nominee.

"Several months ago, a foreign policy expert on the international level went to advise Donald Trump. And three times [Trump] asked about the use of nuclear weapons. Three times he asked at one point if we had them why can't we use them," Scarborough said on his "Morning Joe" program.

Scarborough made the Trump comments 52 seconds into an interview with former Director of Central Intelligence and ex-National Security Agency Director Michael Hayden.

Watch: What are some major concerns about Trump's handling of national security? Hayden and #morningjoe weigh in.
Scarborough then asked a hypothetical question to Hayden about how quickly nuclear weapons could be deployed if a president were to give approval.

"It's scenario dependent, but the system is designed for speed and decisiveness. It's not designed to debate the decision," Hayden said.

Hayden was CIA director from 2006 to 2009 during the George W. Bush presidency. He was the National Security Agency director from 1999 to 2005, spanning the presidencies of Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

CNBC reached out to the Trump campaign via email and was awaiting a response.

I think the left side of the media needs to be really careful about stuff like this. I'm not saying it's not true, but there are SO MANY things he does and says that should disqualify him from people's mind as president, that running with things that aren't easy to substantiate can allow him to use the narrative that the media is just out to get him and decrease credibility towards the public of things that they even have video of him directly saying.

There's so much real crap there, that there's no need to use unverified accounts... will only hurt.

Right now you are thinking I must be kidding. Actually I’m not.

There is a good chance that President Franklin Delano Roosevelt was given cocaine before his famous “Day of Infamy Speech“.

On December 7th and 8th, FDR was suffering from a sinus infection. His doctor and friend, Ross T. McIntire was with him to treat the problem.

Dr. McIntire’s intent was to improve his patient’s ability to breathe by decreasing the swelling of nasal mucosa. He wanted to decrease swelling without causing crusting.

It is not known exactly the procedure that McIntire used to decrease swelling in FDR’s nose. He had been seen using cotton swabs. It is likely that he also irrigated the sinuses by putting a needle up the nose into the sinuses. Then saline would be injected into the sinus cavity.

At the time, it was common for doctors to use cocaine in these treatments. Cocaine was illegal in the United States, but it was legal in medicine. Cocaine would shrink the tissue, giving the patient quick relief. It also numbed the area making the insertion of the needle less painful.

Again, we do not know if Dr. McIntire used cocaine when treating FDR’s Sinus infection that was troubling him during his “Day of Infamy Speech”.

If he had used cocaine, it would have been highly diluted. Most likely, not having a noticeable affect or measurable impact on the President. Furthermore, he it is believed that FDR used cocaine he would not have been told.

There are two reasons why President Roosevelt would not be told of the treatments. First, it was common to not tell patients who were administered cocaine. It was believed that by not telling them they would be less likely to become addicted.

Second, it was a political topic and Dr. McIntire would not have wanted to put that controversial political exposure on the president.

We may never know if FDR used cocaine. But we do know that it was a great speech.

Sorry, it occurred to me that I didn't add a link. My bad

So my, very liberal leaning aunt posted a picture a few weeks ago on Facebook, with a pic of Trump and a quote from 1998 about Trump saying that he'd run as a Republican because they were the dumbest voters and would believe anything they saw on Fox News. Naturally I Snopes'ed it and found it to be false. I just found the whole thing kind of ironic.

i wish Mitt was running again. I'd vote for him in a heartbeat over Clinton.

Papa Khan is killing Trump, lol. The hits just keep coming.

Then the Top GOP is starting to jump ship and endorse Hillary, Trump retaliates against Ryan and McCain, hehehe.

Then he kicks a baby out of a rally after making the mother the butt of his joke... OMG

And now Trump's wanting to know 'why can't we use nukes' surfaces!

What's next?

Trump's campaign is like watching a big shaggy ball of yarn unravel in real time, lol. Hillary just has to keep her head down and The Donald is going to beat himself.

Other than wingnuts that are so full of hate for the opposite side that they will vote party lines regardless of who the candidate is, I can't imagine any sane person voting for this schmuck. In less than a week he really has proven to be a despicable human being.

He's making Hillary look like a saint.

it's so sad. do people realize how far you have to go out of your way to make Hillary look like the good guy?

you literally have to do something stupid on a daily basis.

But Trump never seems to disappoint in that category.

We already know which bathroom to use, are you struggling with that decision?

and because you didn't tell the whole story, it looks bad for FDR:

FDR used cocaine before his Infamy speech?

It's history, people should already know this, it's not a secret.

Speaking of Snopes, I've heard all kinds of stories about Hillary being a real female dog to work with. This story has actually been somewhat confirmed:
