So, they've hit a bit of a rough patch. Kluber pitched a great game yesterday, and I hope the bounce back continues today.

Plenty of baseball to be played. Cool heads prevail.

Lol Carrasco literally just threw over to 1st like 10 straight times

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

We need to lift the bottom folks in the lineup up for this final run at it. A real closer might help.

Go, Tribe!!

???????

We have 2 real closers.

I do think that Tito should look at his lineups, and see who needs to move up or down.

I really think that Gomes' absence has hurt the pitching staff. Hopefully, when he returns from injury, he brings the bat he had in 2014 with him. That would be a double lift.

Lineup construction doesn't really have a major impact on a day-to-day basis. The Indians have just hit a inexplicable cold spell. They have talent, it will crop back up.

There are catchers available in waiver wire deals. Brian McCann from the Yankees probably isn't a realistic possibility because he makes $17M per year through 2018, but you could still make a deal with Philly for Carlos Ruiz or Minnesota for Kurt Suzuki. They would both be upgrades over Perez and Gimenez, although Perez did swing the bat better today.

Wish we could have won today, since the Tigers lost, but Carrasco did pitch really well, which is a welcome turn of events. Too bad he gave up a 2 strike dinger to that slugger, Didi Gregorius.

with the emergence of Sanchez for NYY, they WOULD have probably traded McCann 2 weeks ago (Andrew Marchand reported he would waive his NTC for the right deal) ... but Sanchez didn't start playing until recently

Sanchez is not some new player they had never thought of, he has been a top prospect for years. My guess is that McCann will be traded to Atlanta in the off-season.

As a NYY fan, I can firmly say that they truly did not know how Sanchez's defense would translate to the majors. He was given the rest of the year as a "try out" to see if McCann is expendable. If Sanchez fails (and if you've watched thus far, his bat has been solid, but not so much his defensive acumen), then McCann is retained.

I too am a Yankee fan. Sanchez's problem has always been receiving. He has a cannon for an arm though. My hope is that Tony Pena fixes his problems and he can stick around for awhile.

He's shown great athleticism and power over the past week. If Pena can aid his progress, it's a big win for NY. Getting a good hitting catcher is like two players in one obviously.

I'm hoping the tribe finishes strong in divisional games. They need to win those games that they're supposed to

Good news, bad news ...

Good news: Bauer outpitches Scherzer as Indians win 3-1 vs Washington.

Bad news: Francona misses the game after complaining of chest pain, dizziness, and light-headedness.

Good news: Tigers lose, Indians up 3-1/2 games.

Bad news: Brantley has another setback in his rehab; might need more surgery.

If only Brantley could get back healthy.

Let's pray that it was only heat and maybe dehydration.

Good news, Francona is expected to manage tonight. laugh

Must be something going around, because something got hold of me last night too.

Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona expected to manage Wednesday's game | cleveland.com

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Indians manager Terry Francona, who missed Tuesday night's game against the Nationals because of illness, is expected to be back managing the club Wednesday afternoon at Nationals Park.

Chris Antonetti, Indians president of baseball operations, said in a text Wednesday morning that Francona was feeling much better and was already at the ballpark for a 4:05 p.m. game.

Francona was scheduled to meet with reporters for his normal pregame press conference at 1:45 p.m.

In Tuesday's pre-game meeting with reporters, Francona, 57, said he was having chest pains. He told reporters he might be having a heart attack. Francona frequently jokes about his health, but he wasn't joking this time.

After finishing the interview session, he returned to the locker room

When Antonetti heard of Francona's comments, he checked on him. Francona was examined by stadium medical personnel and returned to the team hotel around the fourth inning. Bench coach Brad Mills managed the Indians to a 3-1 win over the Nationals.

Man, Tomlin plain sucks...I'd seriously consider replacing him in the rotation, a soft tosser who can't place his pitches is a homerun machine...which is exactly what tomlin is

The Indians, yesterday and today, scored 14 and 13 runs.

The Browns scored 11.

That is all.

Its nice to have a 5 game cushion over the now-fading Tigers again, but the next 3 games with Clevinger / Bauer / Tomlin starting don't exactly fill me with confidence. Gotta get Salazar back healthy.

I agree ... it's all about getting the starters back to pitching well

I get to watch two of the next three Indians games on TV.

Last local games of the regular season (Sox, Yankees, Mets)

Indians record this year of local games. (I’ve watched them all):

2-3 Red Sox
2-5 Yankees
1-2 Mets
-----
5-10

Tonight’s game against the Angels is on FS1 (Fox Sports) And of course Monday afternoon’s make-up game against The Red Sox will be on NESN (New England Sports Network)

Hey tonight is Bob Feller Bobblehead night.

Have you heard of Fransisco Mejia?

Check this out:

"Mejia is something of a modern-day Joe DiMaggio, plying his trade for the Lynchburg Hillcats of the high Class A Carolina League. The Cleveland Indians prospect now has a 49-game hitting streak that's tied for the sixth-longest in pro baseball history and the best in 62 years."

Hey, a catcher too.

Not a surprise to me after he quickly became reinjured in May.

Unfortunately just one of those things. A player gets hurt and never fully recovers. (Bo Jackson would have some of the greatest football stats ever if he hadn't developed that hip problem).

There's dozens of excellent players who get injured, can't play, and just slip into obscurity.

I'll try to make it, but I doubt I last past mid game
