Was that in actual report or you speculating. I am not asking that in a mean way............I just wanna know.

At that point is was informed speculation. There were enough reports that made it pretty easy to add up. I didn't mean for the "forever" part to make it more serious than it is.

At any rate, the kid has a long row to hoe. I wish him the best.

"Mr. Spielman, I have a Johnathan Mahnzeel on line 2?"

"Ugh, I thought I blocked that number.."

Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

I don't really understand what this means. the structure of the knee is basically the MCL which keeps your leg from flopping out sideways away from your body, the LCL which keeps it from flopping in sideways, the ACL which keeps your lower leg from hyperextending, and the PCL that keeps it from hyperflexing. Ligaments are the tissue that ties bone to bone. With a dislocated knee the patellar tendon might be involved in that "additional structural damage" but those four ligaments are the primary structure of the knee.

Actually, that information is 10+ years old. IIRC they recently identified a smaller 5th ligament (the ALL) that almost always tears with ACL tears.

Terrible injury to a good kid. I hope he does make it back and has a long career.

How bad is this compared to the Brady/Rivers torn ACLs?

Significantly worse. His leg, basically, split in two.

Thankfully, it sounds like he has no nerve damage. He has a chance to play again, instead of basically having no chance in hell.

Its going to be tough on him, though. He might not play next year either. Depends on how his body responds.

you had a good run Hank.

Complete tears in ligaments is actually a "good" thing for surgeons. When they talk structural damage, I do think they mean kneecap and/or actual tibia/fibia fractures as well. If nothing else is damaged besides the ACL, it's a quick fix.

Tibiofemoral dislocation ... basically, Bridgewater's femur (upper leg) went off the tibia (shin, lower leg.) Yeah.

I'm no doctor, but I'd be shocked to see him on the field next year. If his leg was that close to being amputated, how the hell can he be playing NFL football as a QB in 1 year? I'm rooting for the guy though.

Ways to make your lunch interesting: eating a chicken leg & thigh with your hands while looking at images of this injury type.

Browns is the Browns

... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.
