Unfortunately, I think he showed up too well in the pre-season. Saw too many complimentary quotes from Pete Carroll as well.

I wish him well in any case. He's a local kid, from Bedford. I just thought it might be a steep uphill battle for a UDFA DB to make a secondary that is so deep, talent-wise.

I don't think they could afford to cut, the whole list of about every veteran they have.

When they get to the final 53;
how many left on this defense will have memory of an AFC north division game?

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

If Kessler is cut I'd be shocked (and elated to know that our FO is willing to admit a mistake and keep the best guys)

Kessler can't cut it at this level. He can't put zip on the ball outside
The hashmarks.when protection brears down he loses it mentally.
He could have went undrafted easily.
But this is the Browns

I don't know if that's true.. Kessler has been a disappointment thus far. I think we all can see it, can't believe that Hue can't. So maybe Kessler is gone also or maybe the PS.

Don't know but for sure anything is possible.

He probably sees it, but Huge might be like Butch who let his ego interfere with making sound football decisions. Kessler was a coach pick. Coach is the one who said to trust him on this one....remember?? Remember Butch saying James Jackson might make us forget Leroy Kelly?

A coach gets tied to a quote, he is going to do everything possible to make sure his words ring true.

I am very confident that Kessler was a coach pick. No way the FO decides to not keep the coaches pick. If for no other reason than to let the coach know he needs to stick to coaching and let the FO do the selecting of the players.

Leon McFadden cut, shocking (ha).

Matt Ioannidis also cut, 5th rounder this year by Redskins, I liked him pre-draft, unlikely to get to our PS, but would like that.

I was thinking of him.

I'm just thinking it's more of an exception for a guy to be good after being on a practice squad. It's something to think about as we fill out the team.

I believe Hue is a better judge of QB talent than that...picking Kessler in the 3rd round.

Hue is doing his best to work with our inexperienced front office and is willing to take the heat for their mistakes.

imo...

Perhaps "You" don't thing Kessler can cut it at this level, but "somebody" picked him in the top 100 picks. So "I'm" just saying give him a chance, let his career play out more than this tiny bit, and if the team cuts him, then that's the teams decision.

Mary Kay is saying Hamlett got cut on twitter. Trying to get him to Practice Squad.

Link

Practice success didn't translate to the games. Hopefully he makes it to the PS.

Hamlett is enormous and a decent two dimensional project

I think that every draft pick makes the roster.

Caldwell might be a PS guy, too. Hasn't been healthy. Depends on what CBs end up available.

As long as the hamstring isn't serious, I think Louis makes it as a special teamer.

You can point to the FO all you want, but this was a Coach pick. Just the way he talked about Kessler, and going in to the draft it was widly reported that Hue was going to have significant input on the QB. since that was his specialty.

That said, I am not as down on Kessler as some. It's way too early to call the kid a bust.

I am a bit surprised by Gabriel. He was targeted a lot by McCown in preseason. I thought he might be beat out Payton or Louis who we haven't seen a lot of.

I love Gabriel. I think he would be great on the Patriots. There was a very small chance he was going to make the team because of all the receivers we picked.

Hard to be surprised by anything, though I don't think Hamlett got a fair shake, giving up a spot to Devalve.

I get that Devalve was hurt most of the time, but no way he "earned" a roster spot.
