Re the weather/general discussion:

I think bad weather would hurt us, but it might not have mattered. Oklahoma didn't run anywhere near as much as they should have against Houston. I'm guessing they'll ride Perine and Mixon against us rain or shine. Maybe a bit more run heavy if it's rainy. It'll be hard to keep up our intercepting ways if the other team isn't throwing the ball.

Oh yeah. I forget about that sometimes. I wish they would get rid of that dumb feature.

Sorry about that.

Urbans heavy recruiting for the secondary is paying off. Last year our entire secondary had 12 picks the entire year. This year we have 7 already.

What scares me about the Oklahoma game is the weather and Oklahomas running backs. Perine and Mixon are the best duo in the country. Our 2 losses against Sparty and Va Tech were 2 games in which we had our 2 lowest rushing outputs the last 30 games.

What scares me the most about that game is that Oklahoma already lost. They are in desperation mode and we are a young team.

That's tough to overcome on the road.

That's pretty much my feeling... I think we're more talented... But I could see OU as a desperate team at home that could easily win.... With us you don't know what we'll get because we are so young.... OU has already been tested...we haven't yet... We'll see what we're made of

Oklahoma has been tested and they failed. Urban hasn't lost on the road since he's been HC.

True but I have more faith in OU being tested by a good houston team and getting to play at home vs a team that has young talent and hasn't played Anyone....I still think we win but there is reason for worry

I think it'll be a close game. On the road against a desperate team (who also has talent).

I do think on a neutral site we're 2 scores better though

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

This is a long read, but worth it. Urban talks about his mental health during his years in Florida and how he's in a different place now.

I wasn't trying to derail the thread. I know that Oklahoma will be our first official test, but I really enjoyed reading it. It gives a lot of great insight into what makes him tick.

I didn't think you were trying to derail the thread. I want to read it. I just assumed it was long and wanted to dedicate a period of time to read it.

I think that it's a welcome addition to the thread. Thanks again.

Austin Kendall, the backup quarterback for No. 14 Oklahoma, made it clear he doesn't think the defense of upcoming opponent No. 3 Ohio State is much to worry about.

"I think they really have a very basic defense," Kendall told Sooner Sports TV. "I think we can go out there...I mean [starting quarterback] Baker [Mayfield], he'll light them up. I'm really looking forward to it. If my number is called, I think I can do the same. I'm really looking forward to the game. It's going to be really exciting."

Kendall's remarks quickly drew the attention of Buckeyes players on social media, including defensive end Sam Hubbard and wide receiver Johnnie Dixon.

Kendall is a freshman from Waxhaw, North Carolina, but he is familiar with Ohio State. Kendall's parents, Brian and Kimberly, told the Tulsa World they attended Thomas Worthington High School, which is north of Columbus, Ohio.

Brian Kendall told the newspaper that he even attended the Buckeyes' last three national title game appearances.

In 2012, Austin Kendall tweeted his affection for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State plays at Oklahoma on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET

He is right about one thing, OSU doesn't run a complicated defensive scheme. It lets guys play fast and instinctivly. It's why we crushed Oregon. When you don't have to think, all you have to do is lineup and beat the guy across from you. The Seahawks do the same thing and they smashed Denver because of it. No-huddle doesn't work against us because we run a simplified, read and react defense. We run press coverage man to man. We don't use trickery and we will occasionnaly mix up our coverages.

OSU relys on having better players 1 on 1 than their opponent. It's the definition of high risk high reward.

LOL............I saw that yesterday. First of all, why is a back-up freshman qb being asked such a question on an actual TV show? It wasn't a question that was posed in the locker room. He was on a tv show.

If we judge the game tomorrow based on talent, OSU has a huge advantage. If it comes to down experience, Oklahoma has the edge.
