My post game thoughts .....


Trade Joe Haden to the Colts for a 2nd round draft pick. (Contending team desperate for DB help).
Trade Gary Barnidge to the Packers for a 2nd round draft pick. (Contending team in need of a legit TE).
Trade Joe Thomas to the Seahawks for a 2nd round draft pick. (Contending team desperate for a LT).
Trade Josh Gordon to the Panthers for a 3rd round draft pick. (Another weapon to help them in the playoffs).


Clears up a lot of cap space. Puts us at around 15 draft picks (not counting the ones we'll get from the NFL for the comp picks).



This team is bad and is clearly building towards the future. Might as well go all out.



I felt frustrated yesterday after the game.

Frustrated that year in, and year out, we're subjected to god awful football. I didn't expect to win yesterday, but I expected the team to at least compete and look competent. Instead, per usual, the rest of the league is laughing at the Browns.

For the 9th straight year, we're going to no doubt be subjected to a garbage football team that's "Building" towards the future.

The offensive line and secondary both look atrocious, and a lack of talent isn't fixed over night. Until we have new talent on his roster, it's not going to get any better.

is there another franchise that feels like the season is over after week 1 ... like LEGIT over? I know other teams know they won't win the title, but we're over the season on Sept 12

Point being, if a guy has the dropsies in college, who cares if he's fast, or explosive.

Somewhere in the fine print of an nfl receivers contract it should state something about actually, you know, catching the ball.

Yep.

It's the sole reason why Greg little never made it here. He was awesome at everything else.

Except the one thing a WR is suppose to be good at.

If, other things...

I tried to remember when was the last time I had HOPE for the immediate near future going forward, that the Cleveland Browns were about to start winning and get back out of the hole of being one of the worst 4 teams in the NFL consistently.

When did everyone else have hope going forward?

Maybe you do now?

For me, I remember it was a game Thaddeus Lewis was quarterbacking vs the Steelers later in the year, during a night game, and the Browns were in the game in the 2nd half, .. maybe just "early" in the 2nd half.
And I think Josh Cribbs was still on the team.

I litteraly haven't expected ANYTHING but stress from this team, for the immediate future going forward, from about that time,

But I'm looking forward to a time when that will all change. ( This would have been Manziels 4th year? or at least his 3rd. Oh well.)

Still holding myself to not spend an active penny on this team since 2006, even though others buy me Browns stuff because they know I'm a fan, and there's advertisers and products, but not an "active" penny, since 2006

even when we were 6-3 with hoyer or whatever ... i still thought it was fool's gold

Buffalo?

They scored 7 points yesterday and have had some rough injuries. Plus, being in the same division as New England doesn't help.

The 49ers haven't played yet.

Also, the Chargers blew a 23 point led and their team might move. That's pretty depressing.

I really feel for all the loyal fans who are going to have to put up with what we saw for 15 more games. That was really hard to take.

The Cam Erving 90 footer was such a huge turning point in the game, I think that's obvious to everyone. The Browns really had momentum on their side. You could tell things were really swinging in their direction, and the defense handed them the ball back to go down and take the lead.

And it was a horrible thing to happen, and Cam Erving isn't good, but I absolutely loathe how the team responded. Yeah, you got a tough break, but you went out and made that the excuse. They just felt sorry for themselves as a group and let Philadelphia walk right down the field after the free kick.

A good team gets over that kind of mental error, and goes about their business.

I think the other thing is, I'm so sick and tired of seeing our front 7 pushed forward on 75% of running plays. Since '99, that and bad QB play have been constant.

I get that this year is a throwaway. They can spin it anyway they want but this year is being treated to start from the bottom. They obviously want to find out who is part of this future and who isn't.

Robert Griffin wasn't good enough. Also got hurt to boot. Like all Browns quarterbacks, when the team is constantly playing from behind, they try to do too much and get hurt.

He missed a big throw to Hawkins that would have been a TD. He seemed confused and panicky on intermediate throws, which is something we know he struggles with.

I loved watching Nassib play. He offers a glimmer of hope.

This really sucks though. This year is going to be long and painful.

Momentum isn't real.

Not a whole lot to be positive about. The things that were, are't even really worth bringing up.

Wait until we play the Steelers.

Some good short term news, the Ravens made Josh Mccown look like a pro bowler in the 3 games he has faced them.
