LSU could be Herman. So could TX AM
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Even weirder than the 156k fans at the va tech game is the 100k fans outside the stadium in trailers/buses/campers.

Taywan Taylor of Western Kentucky is a guy I've kept my eye on. He ripped Bamas secondary up.

A couple of things:
--Art Briles is scum. He's trying to get another job and that "apology" as insincere as it gets.
--Watson isn't looking so great. I hope he is not our target.
--I gotta watch ASU more. I was dozing off, but their qb was a freak!!!

Yeah, his name is Manny Wilkins or something like that. He hurdled another would-be tackler again last night. Exciting dude.

I was falling asleep and focused on Mahomes and remember thinking that the Texas Tech D was terrible. I recorded it though and will have to take a closer look at the ASU QB.

I am not saying he is a pro prospect. I am just saying he is exciting. And yes, Texas Tech's D sucks.

3-4 DE OLB ILB Safety Corner RT RG
Hahaha that's so depressing. Anyway some people who have stood out to me:
Jamal Adams LSU Safety Another one of those crazy athletic DB's from LSU.
Jabrill Peppers scUM Defensive Player Probably the best defensive player in the draft or CFB in general.
Raekwon McMillian ILB OSU A good ILB who could help us shore up this blight.
Marlon Humphrey CB Alabama Shut down Juju an entire game.
Jalen Tabor CB Florida A great CB coming out of Florida. Unlike Joe Haden, he's shown that he can intercept the ball.
Jourdan Lewis DB scUM I think he's almost as good as Peppers, but he's just so undersized.
Chidobe Awuzie CB Colorado Can't wait to watch him against Michigan.
Jarrad Davis ILB Florida Great linebacker who uses his speed well. Not sure if he can play the run like Raekwon though.
Kendell Beckwith ILB LSU In the box linebacker. Great against the run. Exactly the player you need in a 3-4.
Riley Bullough ILB MSU Follows in the overachiever Big Ten type that we seem to dig.
Myles Garrett OLB A&M Dominant edge rusher. Top 5 pick.
Marquis Haynes OLB Ole Miss I'm pretty big on him. Really showed a complete skill set against FSU. Can't wait to see how he does against Bama.
Devonte Fields OLB Louisville Great player. Very quick off the edge.
Jonathan Allen DE Alabama Great strength and quickness. Could hold his own as a linemen.
Davon Godchaux DE LSU A quick giant. He slips by tackles really well in stunts. He's strong and big.
Tanoh Kpassagnon DE Villanova One of the top FCS talents. He stands at a whopping 6-7 290 pounds.
Chris Worley DE scUM Does a good job at always being around the ball and working hard. But he doesn't have a pass rushing arsenal.
That's just a few of the defensive players I've seen/read about. I'm sure within the next months we'll be able to see who is the leaders in whichever advanced metric, so we'll have a better guess of who we'll be picking.

My wife is from the Pittsburgh area and both our kids were born there. I was able to get my daughter to root for the Browns, but my wife and son are Steeler fans.
What's crazy is that Steeler fans never talk about the draft until they are out of the playoffs. Us Brown's fans are now talking about the draft after game 1 of the season and we don't even find it troubling. LOL
We deserve a medal........or maybe we deserve to be institutionalized. Not sure which.......

LOL, it's not just us. Every team has its draft junkies. We do seem to have a larger percentage than most.
I started as soon as college football did. Why wait for week 1? The plan is to build through the draft after all.

Not surprisingly, you missed my point. No, I admitted you had one. At least that was my intention with the we do seem to have more than most comment. Then I went back to my draft junky-ism. The LOL was meant to be with you, not at you.

It's week 1. We have no idea what we do, or don't need right now. We have youth everywhere. Man, let's allow the season get 8-12 weeks old before we assume complete failure across the board.

Let's be serious here YTown. We at least know we need pass rushers, a QB and a LOT of help in the secondary. A lot of us knew that before training camp.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Let's be serious here YTown. We at least know we need pass rushers, a QB and a LOT of help in the secondary. A lot of us knew that before training camp. We have several young guys .... Orchard, Ogbah, Nassib, Schobert, and Cooper, who show some promise as pass rushers. An NFL team always needs pass rushers, but to imply that all of these guys, or even most of them have failed after 1 game, is rather short sighted. We probably do need a QB. However, maybe RG3 comes back and takes that next step. Maybe one of the youngsters step u. Probably not, but again, we are only entering week 2 of the darn season. We probably need secondary help. However, I like Campbell and Kindred at the 2 S positions, and we have a bunch of young CB candidates. Maybe we find a Richard Sherman among the late rounders and undrafted players. Sherman was a 5th round pick. Again, we are only entering week 2. Is it likely that we find a Sherman type on our roster? Not particularly .... but it is way too early to give up. Let's at least get to week 7 or 8 before we categorize the season as a complete failure. Frankly I look forward to seeing how some of the young guys at some of these positions, especially pass rusher, develop.

I never implied that any of them were failures. And even when many of them succeed, we're still going to need to fill the hole on the other side of them. Nassib could very well play out. But will Meder?
I like both our safeties, but they both seem to be SS's instead of FS's.
By the way, I think you're taking this a little too hard. Many of us enjoy the college game more than the Pro game. It might be week 2 in the NFL, but it's week 3 in college football. There's a lot more games being played.

Do you realize how many draft picks usually even work out on teams that draft well?
And RG3, really?
I'm sorry that I don't have unrealistic expectations.
And how about our secondary? Are we set there too?
Bud, you've been around here for a very long time. And you still don't get it?

Bud, you've been around here for a very long time. And you still don't get it? It is way, way too early to say for sure that the players we have at those positions suck, and have to be replaced. Sorry, but sometimes players, you know ..... actually work out as the year goes by. I know that it hasn't happened much here .... but it does happen, and it is way too early to label entire units as busts. Maybe we can get to game 7 or 8 before we decide that out r players all suck and have to be replaced.

So which of our potential great QB's or CB's do you view as having this potential you speak of.
And I don't see anywhere where I say they will all suck. But it's also unrealistic to think they'll all be great as well. We will see a few starters, maybe. Some back-up players, some situational/ST's players and some busts.
Surely you can see that with a total re-build we are going through there's going to be a LOT of holes left to be filled next year in the draft. Our secondary got very little help in this past draft. But you know that.

Wonder why the Fl. St/Louisville game isn't the prime time game instead of USC/Stanford?
The former should be a great game.
I'm glad it isn't, that way I don't have to miss it because of the Buckeye game, but that seems kinda weird considering how bad USC.

I love the fact that FSU is on at noon. There are SO many good games, at least that spreads it out
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

I can't stand when there are like 3 good games on at one time

You said something along the lines of "we already know we need pass rushers, secondary and QB".
I said that it is too early to make such conclusions. Who knows what could happen. Maybe Taylor really comes on, and we have Campbell and Kindred also work out well. (the latter 2 I see as being entirely possible, as I like both players a lot) Maybe a guy like Tracy Howard manages to step up. Maybe Trey Caldwell returns to the roster, and take a job from someone. Perhaps Briean Boddy-Calhoun steps into a slot role. Who knows? We have a ton of youth on the team, and I suspect that we will see at least some of them play before this year is over. Maybe we wind up with a Leigh Bodden, or a K'Waun Williams on the team. I cannot say that we don't. It's too early. Heck, look at Seattle.
It seems unlikely that we have the QB this year .... and I concede that. However, we don't really know there either. Maybe RG4 comes back and studs out. Maybe either Kessler or Hogan pulls a Brady or Romo, and take a job out of nowhere, and run with it. Maybe we have a guy like Kessler follow the path of a guy like Russell Wilson, who threw for less than 200 yards in 8 of his 1st 16 games. Now Kessler cannot start 16 games, but who knows what could happen if he gets in the game. I'm not counting on it, but I am also not rejecting it out of hand in week 1.
My point is that it's one week, and it's way, way too early to say that we don't have any players at all at the positions you listed. I like our pass rush potential, with Ogbah, Cooper, Nassib, Schobert, Orchard, and maybe even Shelton. I even think that we will see Kirksey coming on the rush as the year progresses. I really like that unit, if you can consider pass rush a unit.
So, yes, we will almost certainly have holes ..... but it is too early, following week 1 .... to make such blanket condemnations of entire units.

I can say that I like him so far. I am not saying that it's a sure thing, but that I like him after the preseason and 1st game he's had.
He has to do it for an extended period of time before he is "really good".

Okay, that's cool.
So, we can say that so far...........we don't like our corners, our qb, our RT, our Center, our ILBers, and our safeties. That could change, but thus far, some of us don't like what we see.
Is that fair?

That is absolutely fair.
I just hate it being week 1 and "we need to replace everyone!" talk, as it seems some do.
Man, I was one of the more negative posters coming into this season, especially as far as record, and I have not changed my outlook as far as how many games we will win. However, I do like a lot of the young players we have brought in, and I think that we will be happy with the way many of them will develop.
