Nice win for the Tribe.

j/c..

Spent the first half of my day in NYC, got back home and my youngest son and I headed straight up to the ballgame.

This team is so much damn fun to watch.

Another great performance by Tomlin. Miller does his job. Guyer has the clutch hit with 2 strikes and 2 outs.

What a season!

Hopefully, they keep using Hoynsie's article/comments as extra motivation.

good win

It would drop to 4.

It has to suck for the Tigers at this point .... you get rained out, yet still fall one game closer to elimination from the division championship. They are, however, still in the Wild Card race, and are only 1 game back .... but they are 3 and 2 games back in the win column. It just makes their task more arduous.

We eliminated the Royals tonight for the division. They can still technically get a wildcard spot, but it's very doubtful at this point.

Hah, yeah. I could've had all the games for a nice price of 1,200K for one seat.

Considering a round trip ticket from my village in Alaska to Cleveland is around 1500.... tongue

Tigers and Twins play a twin bill today, so the Tribe could be down to a 2 game magic number, if all goes right. wink

Tied 1-1 in the 4th at the moment. Usually I hate the Twinkies, but today they are my second favorite baseball unless they lose of course...

Tigers won both games today, but we won as well. I wonder what effect playing two games today will have on the Tigers tomorrow.

Adam Jones touched on something brought up on this site awhile back. O's are doing great, but fans aren't showing up. It's not an Indians problem, it's a baseball problem. I know people are naturally defensive when something they're passionate about isn't respected, but it's reality. Baseball has a major problem.

Just looking at the Indians remaining schedule.

I'm not at all comfortable.

All of a sudden it looks like Detroit could catch us with a sweep at home.

What's the Magic Number now? About 15? Is it going up?

The sky is falling.

I've been a Cleveland fan too long.

Which is weird because I've always loved going to baseball games. Football games I'd almost rather watch on television because of weather, better replay, etc.. but baseball is much better in person.

Tigers lost to KC today, 7-4. Magic number is 2. Tribe plays tonight at 7:30. It would be nice if they could clinch at home tomorrow.

The Tigers had a 2-run lead in the 9th and the Royals scored 5 off a double and homer. Nice!

Cody Anderson should move along to his next career.

I heard they're hiring at the Kwiki Kar Kwash.

Can't give up on young pitching. As bad as he's been this year is how good he was last year. Hamilton was saying on the broadcast yesterday that Anderson's off season workout regimen got him stronger and that his velocity had increased, but at the expense of losing his sinker. The stats from 2015 vs 2016 verify that.

http://www.espn.com/mlb/player/stats/_/id/33183/cody-anderson

He has more K's and less Walks this year, but oppo BA, Slugging Pct, OPS have all ballooned. He has given up less ground ball outs and more flyballs, many of them leaving the yard. Add to that a stint on the DL for a sore elbow, being jerked back and forth between Clev and Columbus, and being switched back and forth between being a starter and a reliever. 2016 should be a file it and forget it year for Anderson. Go home this winter and find that sinker.

It would be great if we could just go 162-0, win each game like 6-1 and have every pitcher be near a no hitter every start, but that will never happen. Each pitcher will have a bad game or a bad inning here or there. We haven't gotten this far already. Take care of business at home today and keep fingers crossed that KC helps us out and we'll be all smiles regardless of how bad the Browns play.

Definitely agree. If that was the case, we wouldn't have Kluber or Carrasco as I believe they had their issues early on.

I think we are witnessing the turnaround with Bauer right now. He still has his 'WTF?' games, but you can see it happening, in fits and starts - he's becoming less of a thrower and more of a pitcher. Or take a guy like Zach McAllister, a power arm with stuff you just can't teach - mid 90's gas - but he hasn't been able to master his secondary stuff. If he were to finally do that, watch out. As it is though, he's just another hard thrower in the bullpen.

Agreed about Bauer. And Bauer is the type of player I bet the Indians are trying to sign long-term now....before he fully comes into his own and where, questionable games and performances, allow the Indians to sign him for cheaper.

I write this not knowing his arbitration status, so that could have some sort of an impact too.

I disagree on McAllister. I don't have high hopes for him as a starter. Bullpen? Meh, I could go either way. McAllister has been around for awhile and I think we know what he is and what he can do. I don't trust him as a starting option moving forward.

Pitching isn't as big an issue right now to me as offense, it will be the reason for first round exit. Lindor and naquin have hit the wall, Napoli has turned into old napoli, we leave hundreds on base it seems and we love hitting into DP. Jose Ramirez is easily our best player. If we can't start hitting again, playoffs will be a short experience. Which either way, we should be better next year

Cleveland Indians sell out American League Division Series tickets in less than an hour

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland Indians American League Division series tickets sold out Monday about 45 minutes after going on sale to the public.

A club official said games 1 and 2 of the Division Series sold out by 10:36 a.m. The team announced via Twitter at 11:01 a.m. that a limited number of tickets for Game 3 were still available online.

Cleveland's magic number to clinch the American League Central Division is 1. The Indians can lock up a postseason spot with a win in Detroit tonight.

The Indians are currently the No. 3 seed in the American League and would play at either Texas or Boston on Oct. 6 in the ALDS opener.

With seven games remaining, the Indians trail the Rangers and Red Sox by two games for the top seed in the American League, and home field advantage throughout the postseason.

They are guaranteed at least two games in the Division Series: either games 1 and 2 at home, or games 3 and 4 at home. Game five (if necessary) would take place at Progressive Field provided the team overtakes Boston or Texas for the No. 1 or No. 2 seed.

Clinched.

Winning at home would have been better, but winning in Detroit isn't that bad either.

Need to keep winning though, we're currently the 4rd best AL division leader.

Love it! So great to see them celebrate on Detroit's field after all those years of them having our number.

Man this team has given us a hell of a year. I cannot wait for some postseason baseball back in Cleveland. There is nothing quite like it.
