I was still impressed by Mayfield.

We just had too many studs for them.

well, we're ranked 2 I just saw

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Hopefully Oklahoma can stay ranked to make our win look better.

Not sure how I feel about the guy who voted Michigan #1.

Joel Klatt brought up an interesting comparison. Is this OSU team like the Vince Young Texas team from 2005-2006?

One last comment, I think it hasn't been said enough. Our offensive line is massive. They can all move extremely well too. The best part is that they all play nasty too. Our guards are absolutely maulers. Prince and Jones are really solid bookend tackles as well.

Losing our o-line coach would hurt 100x worse than Herman.

OSU is where they need to be. Don't lose a game and we end up w/one of the top 2 spots and you can't ask for anything better than that.

I'm actually really starting to get excited about our team. We lost so many players to the draft, I had such high concern. We're looking great on both sides of the spectrum.

I've been holding it back but Oklahoma wasn't a push over like the others, and we throttled them.

I thought this was an interesting article on the Ohio State's defensive front from the Oklahoma game.

I'm not copy/pasting it because the videos (to watch) that go with the story.

Here's who we are looking at to finish the 2017 class in my best guess-

Jeffrey Okudah 5* and #1 ranked safety

Cam Akers 5* and #2 ranked runningback

Jay Tufele 4* and #10 ranked defensive tackle

Jaylen Harris 4* and #39 ranked wide reciever

I know Jaylen is ranked pretty low at his position, but he's 6'5-6'6. We could use his size at wide receiver. Alabama wants him too. For some perspective on the 2017 class.

Okudah is basically in. It's just not official yet. Per birm (formerly of 11w, now of Landof10)

On Monday morning, a number of internet rumors began circulating that 5-star cornerback Jeffrey Okudah, who was visited by Ohio State coaches on Monday, had committed to the Buckeyes just a day after returning from his official visit to Oklahoma. Those rumors began on an Oklahoma website and were dispelled by Okudah’s coaches at South Grand Prairie (Texas), but that’s to be expected because there is no plan in place for an accelerated timeline and the country’s top-ranked cornerback still expects to take a few official visits. Florida State and Clemson remain on the list for Okudah, and he’s still planning on an official visit to Columbus, likely at the end of November for the Buckeyes’ final regular-season game against Michigan.

So, here’s the deal: don’t expect anything public anytime soon, but the reality is that – barring something very unexpected happening – this recruitment has been essentially “over” for a while. There always has to be a second-place team, and right now the Sooners, Seminoles and Tigers are jockeying for that position.

Whenever Okudah and his camp decide to make their decision and want it to be public, that’s up to them, but if you’re rooting for the Buckeyes you can breathe fairly easily here. Urban Meyer, Greg Schiano, Kerry Coombs and Luke Fickell are not going to let this one get away.

Bicyclist in stable condition after being hit by Greg Schiano's car

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State co-defensive coordinator Greg Schiano hit a bicyclist with his car near campus Thursday morning, a school spokesperson confirmed.

The crash occurred at an intersection near Ohio State's practice facility, and the Columbus Dispatch reported it happened shortly before 7 a.m. Columbus and Ohio State police officers responded to the scene, and the collision is still under investigation.

The 26-year-old bicyclist was in stable condition after being hospitalized for a head injury, according to the Dispatch.

The school spokesman confirmed that Schiano, 50, was driving and wasn't injured. Ohio State is expected to be able to provide more details about the incident on Friday, pending the investigation by Columbus Police.

"From a university perspective, our concern is with the young man who was injured," an Ohio State spokesman said Thursday evening. "Our focus is on offering all the support for that individual that we can at this time."

Schiano, who is in his first year as an assistant for the No. 2 Buckeyes, returned to campus after the accident and resumed his duties with the team.

A former head coach at Rutgers and with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and also a longtime friend of Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer, Schiano has had an instant impact on the defense, thanks to his expertise in the secondary. Ohio State leads the country with nine interceptions through three games.

The Buckeyes are currently on their off date and don't play again until Oct. 1, when they host Schiano's former team, Rutgers.

I sure hope Schiano's not at fault here. I commute to work by bike most days, and there is a real problem with drivers giving riders no respect. I have a close call or two per week due to driver negligence or ignorance. Cyclists have as much right to the lane as autos do. They also are required to obey all traffic laws. College campuses are notorious for cyclists not following the rules, so I hope this is the case for Schiano. I also hope and pray the injuries aren't serious.

I hope everyone is okay. Which it seems so.

It'll be bad enough not having any OSU/winning Ohio football this weekend.

Hope it wasn't a case where one person was totally ignorant or illegally acting (obviously there will be blame, but still).

If this is true, then you really like playing the odds and should be a full time gambler. If you are having a close call twice a week, assuming a close call means getting hit by a car while on your bike, I think I'd give up the bike FAST.

Now I'm not putting down biking as alternative transportation, I actually think that is great but man it's not worth getting killed or seriously injured over.

Stay safe out there.

Most of the close calls are people trying to pass me on a two lane country road with oncoming traffic. They seem to think I should pull off the road onto the gravel or grass (which is also dangerous), so they pass without much room for error. Next would be the parking lot at the hospital I work at...people pulling out of parking spaces without seeing me.

This is a really good article that talks about Ohio State's defense and addresses how our corners play, which is something Candy and I were discussing earlier:

Well considering Bradfords college career I am not sure if you meant that as a compliment or an insult

Interesting comparison, I thought he is quite a bit bigger and stronger than JFF

I asked a ref if I could start a new Ohio State thread because this one will likely get locked during the game. So, would you like to post that preview there?
