Tom Heckert was the best GM we've had since the return.
It's a shame for him that he had to work with Holmgren and Shurmur.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Let's be honest, Hughes contract did not fit and that is why he is gone.
The tale of two NFL franchies...one franchise focused on winning football games...the other team focused on how much $$.
The Browns maintain their lead in the NFL with the most cap space available. Hughes was a veteran on the roster game 1. I thought that guaranteed his contract for the year.
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no

I think there's more to it than his contract. If that was the case, Tramon Williams would never have made the team IMO.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

so when will Haden, Thomas, Bitonio, Tramon, Barnidge (I'm sure the FO was angry he was re-signed just before they took over), McCown, etc be traded/waived? When is the trade deadline?
Don't be surprised if some of those names are not on the roster at the end of the season.
It's not about building a winning football team...it's about the money...Haslam's money. We could have 53 players on minimum contracts, and Haslem's wouldn't gain a penny..
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

As long as we establish that mac is wrong, and continues to be wrong.. Then I'm ok with being wrong.

Well, when a loser is interested in you, it might mean you're a loser. If a winner is interested in you, it might mean you're a winner.
You ever hear that you're only as attractive as the girl you are with. Same logic applies.

Soooooo much buzz surrounding him during camp, then crickets. I hope he plays. Sometimes all that is needed is the opportunity.

Former # Patriots C Bryan Stork worked out for # Browns. They have been checking into available centers.

OL Mike Liedtke is signing to the Cleveland Browns practice squad. Was scheduled to work out for the Jacksonville Jaguars tomorrow.

This is both good and bad. It means we are desperate to sign anyone with a pulse (Stork has already failed two physicals I believe) because our center situation is in bad shape. That's the bad. It's good because we are at least thinking about signing a "veteran." I'm glad we aren't just throwing anyone out there and hoping for the best.

All I know is that I hope Erving doesn't see the field again. He compromises the entire line.

Who was the center we had during camp that was on the second team ahead of Matthews? Is he still available?

Yeah he does. Other OL worrying about his calls at the line, wondering if Erving is gonna end up blocking the right guy or let a convoy get after the QB.

Reiter played a whale of a game. I watched him on many plays. The kid sealed off, chipped and then went to the second level to seal off on several plays. I was sick when he went down. He looks like our starter for next season. Cam Irving sucks and don't want to see him ever play for my team again. The guy is a wuss. After he was drafted I saw him at some event in "skinny" jeans. I don't want to see my lineman on either side wearing skinny jeans. A wide receiver...I can overlook it to a degree....a lineman? LOL. The guy is a punk.

I agree with Peen. Reiter certainly looked like an upgrade to me. Erving just doesn't have the physicality to play. Plus, I think he's not confident or nasty like that.

Erving's blocking has been much better, it's his brain farts that are game killers.

Erving's blocking has been much better, it's his brain farts that are game killers. Well, those brain farts result in him leaving guys totally unblocked and them blowing up plays. I said this earlier, he is seemingly one of the dumbest players I have ever watched. His in-line blocking choices are terrible.

I pointed out the fact that Erving had only played 4 or 5 games as a center in college...and that alone did not make him a center.
...he is not a center!

...he is not a center! At this point, I'm not at all sure he's an NFL level Olineman let alone a first round pick. But I do understand what they were doing when they drafted him. They were prepping for the eventual loss of Mack. (tells me they knew he was probably gone back then) I get that and it was a wise move, they just didn't pick wisely
