Why are so many of you focusing on Grossi instead of the thread topic?

Speaking only for myself. We are only three games into his first season. So I think debating it now is a total waste of my time and energy. So I will butt out of this thread completely and let y'all have at it.

But, talking about Grossi isn't a waste? rofl

And I don't know, bro. The OP asked some good questions that should trigger some observations. I don't think it is a waste. And if you noticed, my commentary on Hue was extremely favorable.

Not sure anyone asked for a debate. I was interested in the thoughts of guys on this board -- your thoughts. Perhaps I would want to debate after reading your thoughts, ideas, options, etc...

One of my motivations was to get guys on this board's perspective on him after he has had one nuclear bomb after another explode in this face over the past month. He is out on an island. The Wentz thing really doesn't help. But, the product on the field seems to be actually getting better. This post was intended to unearth what your thoughts about how he has weathered this storm as much as it is about me wanting you to put yourselves on the line, with specifics, about him. Which, dawgtalkers traditionally do not like to do.

See you in 45 games.

I actually thought you had a good thread idea. Of course, other posters don't see it that way. Not enough name calling and personal attacks involved, I guess.

Hue has not "weathered" the storm as that he is weathering the storm, and seemingly successfully. The ship has taken on a lot of water, but Hue is adept at bailing and keeping it afloat. I'm uncertain as to whether the worst of the storm has passed or mot...

It's just sprinkling right now. The storm is a ways off. When the Browns lose a ton of games this year and next, the storm will be intense. I just hope Hue can weather that storm.

I get the feeling that a lot of people aren't replying to the OPs questions because they don't want to pigeonhole themselves into supporting Hue. By saying nothing.......they can say it's a good move when Haslam and the FO fires him at the end of next year.

Hue and his assistants. Where are we at?

Player Development

I think the development "so far" of our rookie class has been probably the best I've seen under a Browns regime. Coleman, Nassib, Ogbah, Kindred, and even Kessler are all coming along nicely (minus the injuries). Pryor's development as well as been amazing as well. A+ in my book

Coaching/Training at Berea

Have no clue because I wasn't at camp this year. The reports of the media and some vets like Joe was promising, but I have heard that song and dance before. TBD imo.

Game Coaching, Game Management/Adjustments

The game plans have been great since the Eagles debacle. I thought both of the past two weeks we played above our head and were very well prepared. Some of the in game decisions have been head scratchers such as not running the ball one time before the FG attempt.....even worse the decision to give the Dolphins the ball 1st in OT. I would probably give him a B- here but I expect him to improve as he gets more experience with the team.

Leadership

No complaints, and I believe he is the guy stirring the drink. I honestly believe he probably has more say in personnel matters than any coach we've had since Mangini, and the players respect him. A+ here as well

Man Management

If I'm assuming he has say in personnel decisions then I have to give him some of the blame for the Schwartz fiasco. I don't think Mack wanted to come back so I don't give much blame for that. However, MS was a HUUGE mistake and they have to own being petty over him not taking the initial offer. The Williams situation is troubling as well. Having said that the players love him so that's a positives. C...mixed bag so far.

Public Relations

Has been superb here as well A+

Player Identification

Another mixed bag imo. A number of the players they drafted are showing promise. However the Wentz situation doesn't look good at ALL. C-

I very much like Hue as the coach and believe that he will turn the team around eventually.

It is not going to happen this year though, so the best we can look forward to is improvement.

He's had a couple head scratchers: The stupid fake punt formation in Philly wasn't good, and he could have pushed for a few more yards after the fumble recovery against Miami, but I like him as our coach. He needs at least four years to see what he can do.

Hue has done nothing good nor bad so far. The jury is still out.

that being said, this roster is atrocious...there is a real possibility we won't win a single game this year, and if we do go 0-16 you really have no choice but to can the guy...0-16 is simply unacceptable no matter what the circumstances....

Come Hue just win 1 game...thats all i ask...long as you can win 1 stinking game this year, im good with giving you more time...

Remember, they fired Rob Chudzinski(Him and Norv Turner were the best chance we had at a turn around here since our return and we really messed that up)after a mere 4-12 record...taking past history, and such..if I was Hue...i wouldn't get too comfortable...just saying...our owner and such is erratic as all can be....using our owners erratic behavior as a barometer, Hue isn't safe IMO unless he can win 5 games....I personally thing he should be safe winning just one...this roster is awful...most of these guys should be bagging groceries at giant eagle, not playing in the NFL.

I replied and was pretty positive about Hue.

All I know is last season I couldn't even stomach watching the Browns play beyond half time. It was horrible and pathetic to watch. Hue has this team playing HARD! We have a run game #4 in the league, a passing game that is a little improved from last year, and we are scoring more points.

We are doing all of that without Josh, Coleman is out again, we have no real RT, our center is iffy at best, and we have a LOT of rookies. Yet we could be easily 2-1 if we had a real field goal kicker.

A coach can coach but he can't get out there and play. Hue is also still learning too. He is only going to get better. The team will get better too as these rookies grow up in this system and they slowly become veterans playing a system that is second nature instead of something they have to think hard about.

Hue better get at least three season to show something from this pile of rookies.

I have no issues pigeonholing myself.. I like Hue a lot. Right now, Hue deserves next year and the year after that unless something drastic changes like a full-on locker room mutiny. If the FO even considers firing him at the end of this season I will be EXTREMELY upset.

I also see no reason why we have to anticipate losing a ton of games next year. I see a team that isn't quite as talent deprived as many people thought, does have a few glaring holes that need to be filled, has a ton of 1st and 2nd year guys that should improve... I'm not going with a worst to first prediction or anything... but there is NO REASON this team can't have one of those significant off-season jumps between this year and next.

My view is that I think Hue is doing a great job, yea I know our record is 0-3 but I see a BIG change in our teams attitude and that is what a coach controls ... thumbsup

Hue seems to be doing a lot of things really really well ... But I gotta tell U .. He has STUNK as a play caller ... I am VERY VERY CONCERNED about this guy and weather he doesn't panick in big situations ...

Everyone blames Parkey and Paztor for the last loss ... Well maybe if Hue isn't AFRAID TO RUN A PLAY maybe just maybe we're talking about how bad they played in a WIN and not a LOSS ...

WOW .. Are u kidding me ... 20 seconds left and a TO and a looming 48 yard FG from a guy who has all ready missed twice .. And he missed BOTH times to the SAME SIDE ... The LEFT ...

Not sure what was said about the play call .. NOR DO I CARE ... It's a no-brainier .. He was so AFRAID of a NEGATIVE play he didn't want to RISK RUNNING a play ..

And if your going to take a knee ... GET TO THE OTHER HASH MORON .. 2 of his 3 makes JUST SQUEEZED in to the left .. He missed wide left on the other two .. So we let him line up for a 48 yarder and don't have the SENSE TO move him to the other hash while taking a knee ...

Then the OT call .. Are u KIDDING ME ... A TD wins .. U have to TAKE THE BALL or u may never see it .. That's PITIFUL ...

Bruce Arians was run out of town for MUCH MUCH LESS ..

With that said .. He's done a lot of things really really well .. He deserves at least a few more years ..... But this DIFFERENCE MAKER has made a NEGATIVE DIFFERENCE and potentially COST US A GAME cause he was afraid to RUN A PLAY ..

I could actually care less at this point as the kids development is what counts to me .. It just BLOWS MY MIND the FREE PASS he gets when he has made some SERIOUSLY WELL BEYOND HEAD SCRATCHING PLAY CALLS .. That play call and the OT differing are not close to the only "what the hell was that" call ..

NOW GO GET UM HUE .. We got a shot this week also ..

I like Coach Jackson and I like this staff. I think we finally found the coach we have been looking for. Give him time and the players and he will make us a winner. He's holding it together with bailing wire and duct tape right now yet he is still upbeat and not making excuses. Yes, I like Coach Jackson a great deal. I hope he sticks a while.

In that situation, it is custom to ask the kicker where he wants the ball..

I can only assume then, that was where he wanted it.
