My guess is that he tested positive again and is trying to get out in front of it.

If he did test positive then he's suspended for at least a year again anyway. I think he knew he WOULD test positive and instead of doing so he rushed into rehab to avoid the test. I suspect rehab has Dr./patient privacy. So any test in there would be withheld from the league. Meathead isn't smart enough to have thought this up himself. Someone must have pointed the way for him.......

A missed test is the same as a failed test.

Not if you just checked yourself into rehab.....

Ugh. I was so hoping to see Pryor, Coleman, and Gordon on the field.

Never to be.

Well, we have extra picks in next years draft, so we can just find someone else to take Gordon's spot. Oh well.

This outcome is not for lack of support from the team and the fans. His issues have priority but Cleveland can hold it's head high, you did the right thing by him.

I personally wanted to see Pryor, Gordon, and Coleman together as well. Thought it could have been very dangerous. But not to be.

Josh is a loser in more ways, add deadbeat dad to the list. But hey, let's keep him because he's not costing us money or a roster spot like people are STILL saying..

I look around the league, and you see guys that aren't saints off the field, but are clean enough to stay on the field and play.

Yet we always seem to get train wrecks. Gordon and manziel....I'm not religious at all but those two assholes need Jesus.

People kept saying I can't wait till he comes back. I was always thinking that's if he manages not to light one up before then. So maybe he did and then tried ducking the test by going to rehab? Or perhaps he just simply failed yet another test? Or he was just feeling like he needed to get high, then went? I guess we'll all find out, soon enough.

Regardless...

The DNA test says he's the dad, now he has to take responsibility for that kid.

Unconfirmed report by Lane Adkins. Waiting for more news to come out. Lane Adkins isn't one to spread rumors, however.

Take it for what it's worth....

According to Adkins, “We’re being told that the Josh Gordon situation is more than just a player coming to the recognition that he needs help. Instead, what we’ve heard (from sources close to the situation) is that Mr. Gordon and his security detail were nabbed/questioned/detained via the TSA for attempting to carry pot onto an LA-bound flight.”

Adkins continued, “According to sources, Gordon entered Cleveland Hopkins Airport via an underground entrance and was escorted to the upper level to pass through security for his flight. He was accompanied by a member of his security detail. A TSA representative on the upper level recognized Gordon and his security from the below ground level just moments prior. Due to the strange nature of Gordon being shuffled through the airport, the TSA pulled Gordon aside, checked baggage in the possession of he and his security and found what our source tells us was nearly one pound of pot in their possession.”

Yep! Another child, most likely, raised with just a Mother.

Should be taken care of financially though. Hope Momma puts the dollars to good use.

Honestly? This is depressing news for us Browns fans, but sometimes you just gotta laugh about it, if you can.

If you're Roger Goodell, how do you let this guy back into the league? Testing positive for weed is one thing. Attempting to board a plane with a pound of weed is a whole different animal. (Back in the summer, Gordon was conditionally reinstated to the NFL, I'm not sure what exactly that means but I imagine it gives Goodell some power here.)

It's like damn Josh, you have a one year old kid. It's not just about you anymore.

edit: I should have said *if the above report is true*. It has gotten very hard to give Josh the benefit of the doubt on these things, but it's still just an unconfirmed report from one person

Do to him what Jacksonville is doing to Justin Blackmon. Keep his contract rights. He'll never play another down in the NFL.

I've been hearing that same thing around my office this morning. I was just waiting for a reliable source before discussing it on the message board.

'Josh Gordon Rumors: TSA Update on Rumored Airport Incident'

http://www.clevelandsportszone.com/josh-...HYVoxuI.twitter

By Bob Evans on September 30, 2016

Earlier on Friday, we shared a report from our friends over at The Orange and Brown Report (part of Scout.com) in regard to a rumored incident involving Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon at Cleveland Hopkins Airport. You can read that article here on CSZ or read The OBR’s original thread from Lane Adkins here. The OBR has also just made the article public, you can read that here.

As always with any reports in the media, we wanted to follow up with all parties involved to provide the most up to date information on the matter.

TSA (Transportation Security Administration) was the first to get back to us.

Mark Howell from their Public Affairs office stated via voicemail, “Josh Gordon did go through security yesterday (Thursday) afternoon. No incident at the TSA checkpoint, no marijuana. Not on our end at least.” I reached back out to Mr. Howell on the phone and he confirmed his voicemail to me and said I should follow up with the Cleveland Police Department as well.

As of the time of this post, the Cleveland Police Department’s Public Relations office has not yet reached back out with a comment at this time. We will update this post with any new information.

We also reached out to Gordon’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, for comment on this report as well, and have yet to hear back from him.

While you are waiting for us to update this post, check out our first ever “Browns Zone” podcast breaking down the Browns loss to the Dolphins last Sunday. We will have a new episode previewing the Redskins game and talking about the Gordon situation on Friday evening.

Legit, and somewhat obvious, point I hadn't taken into consideration. It almost kills that rumor instantly because one LB of green is going to be a serious offense. Especially when it appears to be a smuggling attempt. Not familiar with the law, but if dudes goto jail over a joint and a dime bag, yeah...

It just seems weird to me with how super strict TSA is. A guy tried to smuggle a pound of weed and doesn't get even a slap on the wrist.....?

You don't. If this story is true, he has to to be permanently banned. Period.

LOL OK whatever that means...I don't think they can cut or trade him while he's in rehab, hippa laws and all. Besides he'll do great with another team so he need to keep his rights.

What that means is Hue probably gave the OK to cut him whenever deemed appropriate.

I just hate that regardless of what the truth is about anything, a story is put out, and everyone runs with it.

How many people will acruelly see the report from the TSA guy saying it didn't happen?

But that doesn't matter. Jokes matter. Mockery matters.

Whatever.

You cut him because he's a loser. To heck with keeping his rights. It don't matter if we pay him nothing. It don't matter he doesn't take up a roster spot. It don't matter Jags are keeping the rights of their loser.

None of the reasons justify, to me anyway, keeping him. A loser is a loser. He's been in rehab before and is still a loser.

Close the chapter because it's a repetitive story with him.

Looking like this story is false. The story has since been taken down over at the Orange and Browns Report per DeadSpin.
