Okay, so I'm not a baseball fan. But I certainly see a need for this topic! lol
Of course I'm rooting for the tribe but not what I consider a true fan. I simply thought the board needed and official thread for World series discussion and am simply amazed one didn't already exist.
So discuss! GO Tribe!
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
I'll give my browns tickets until 2025 (loge) for WS tickets
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."
i hope our pitching can overcome their offense, but their pitching is pretty amazing so either way i expect low scoring tonight
Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday. -John Wayne
I have been involved with the game for most of my life in one form or another. I was raised an Indians fan and was born in Cleveland.
Later in life I moved to Atlanta and raised my family there. I coached baseball for over ten years. And adopted the Braves as my National League team. In the 1995 World Series I was torn. Who to root for? Because I saw the Braves go from the worst team to the best and got to watch them everyday the Braves were my team. I never lost my love for the Tribe though.
My son played ball with Ned Yost's son Josh. He was a teamate of Dexter Fowler on a fourteen year old All Star travel team.
If the Cubs would be playing any other American League team but the Tribe I would be cheering for them.
I started really getting into the Tribe this year when they traded for Miller. Love the way this team plays.
In my mind Terry Francona is one of the great managers. And I was a huge Bobby Cox fan.
Although the Tribe is considered the underdog I like our chances. Miller is a difference maker. Cleveland has beaten high scoring teams all year. They are a team that does everything well. They have the starters. They have a great pen that is flexible. They score runs in many ways. They play great defense and they can run the bases. They are confident and focused but play lose.
I think the Tribe's pitching staff holds the Cubs down and they get the key base hits to win the series. Defense will play a role as well as running.
The boys of summer are in the big game; the Cavs are raising that championship banner; and fans are ready to celebrate all that is Cleveland sports.
But getting downtown to share in that excitement is going to be expensive.
Parking prices near Progressive Field already were as high as $100 this morning – a figure not even seen during the Republican National Convention this past July.
While most lots are charging just a bit higher than typical game day prices, a few are hiking up the price.
The highest price downtown was in the Geis Properties lot at East Ninth Street and Bolivar Road, where attendants were charging $100. At the nearby USA Parking lot on East Ninth – across from Progressive Field – drivers were being charged $80.
As expected the closer the parking lot is to Progressive Field and Quicken Loans Arena, the higher the price. Most lots around the ballpark were charging about $50, while lots a few streets away were priced at $30.
The Gateway East parking garage is closed to all daily and monthly parkers, and only is accepting those with Cavaliers and Indians game-day passes. And a number of downtown streets have parking bans.
The city is extending the hours of the Willard Park Garage, 601 Lakeside Ave., during Games 1 and 2 of the World Series. The garage, which is next to City Hall, will be open until 1 a.m. for both games. Any vehicles left in the garage after 1 a.m. will be charged an additional fee and will need to be removed the next day. Keycard holders will be charged an additional $10 for any vehicles left in the garage after 11 p.m.
The World Series: Prepare for traffic, crowds in Cleveland
The World Series: Prepare for traffic, crowds in Cleveland
While traffic will be heavy all week during the series, Tuesday will be the biggest opportunity for gridlock.
For those trying to find affordable parking downtown, the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority is selling $5 cash-only round trip World Series commemorative passes and will have additional trains running throughout the day and night to accommodate crowds

As for all of the naysayers ..... the Cavaliers did the impossible and came from down 3-1 to win it all. That has never been done before.
The Indians were down to 3 starters, and then 2 starters, and they shut down the mighty Red Sox and the mighty Blue Jays. That wasn't supposed to happen. We were wounded, and out-manned, and it just didn't matter.
I have the Tribe in 6.
