I think Lester on short rest is VERY VERY hittable if he's the one that comes in.

No doubt about it. We're running into a hot Cubs team, but hey it's not over yet.

not really a hot team...they were good all year..they are just returning to form. 103 games with a +252 run differential is exceptional..They were the team of destiny. Indians didn't choke, they simply didn't have the roster to win it. Give me a healthy Cookie or Salazar over tomlin and bauer any day. Brantley over any of the garbage we have in the outfield, or almonte. A healthy productive Gomes that can come in and catch a few games..

i agree ... sadly, i would have been surprised if we won tonight

Sure, Lead is overly pessimistic, but he's often right about the outcome. And that's fine because this board is for everyone, as long as we're being civil to each other. Knowing we're going to lose doesn't make you a bad fan.

A few board members were giving me the business after I had a meltdown last night, but I was right about Game 6 and I'm right so far about Game 7. The second the grand slam was hit, I knew we lost the series. I've seen this movie before. They're on fire and we're tighter than a drum (to steal a phrase from someone earlier).

You all get to turn off the game and sleep in peace tonight. I have parties going on above and below me with people screaming and I also have the wife and kid in the next room celebrating. I'll be hearing fireworks all night. And there will always be a person next to me on the bus, on the sidewalk or at a restaurant with a Cubs championship hat or shirt on forever. I'll be reminded of this collapse every day of my life from here on out.

Well, I don't know whose contract is up next year or not, but hopefully we'll have just that next year.

Dayum, a decent throw by Davis to the plate on that short fly and this is a different ballgame.

I feel bad for you living in chicago..that has to be rough. But honestly if they indians weren't in it, the Cubs would be the next team I'd want to win it. They have an amazing team..it was just a matter of time. Hopefully Dolan realizes we are in a good spot right now and spends some money to shore up the offense and outfield. No reason we can't be back again, maybe against the cubs ala cavs/warriors. Bad thing about baseball is you can go to the world series and you might not make it back for awhile. We got pieces like Jram and Lindor to build around, we have a healthy farm. Just need a few pieces that aren't 35+ year old scrap heap pieces.

If it's done it was a good, improbable run. Who could have expected this with our pitching injuries. I wouldn't watch a single out of the WS if we weren't here.

Well someone had to lose and the other team is going to win, that's just how it is.

If we do end up losing this game, then we made it very far this year and did our best. That's really all that can be said and asked for. We do know what pieces we need to add and work on for next year so that is a positive. Rome was not built in a day.

How many times have we put baserunners on w/2out in the last couple games?

It would be nice to see them spend some money to improve the team, but even if they do, it's unlikely we're in the Series again next year. Baseball playoffs aren't like the NBA playoffs, it's a crapshoot. Any team can get hot in a series and roll you. Boson should have beat us and probably Toronto too. Heck, the Cubs were a play or two away from losing to the Giants.

Point I'm trying to make, when you're here, you HAVE to win it.

Far too often.

If there's a chance to get back in this, WE HAVE TO SCORE HERE!
