So just to be clear, ( some) you white guys wouldn't be offended if the team was named the Cleveland Crackers, and the logo was a white guy whipping somebody.

They are called Native Americans....Indians is a baseball team.

It's a misnamed race of people, and that's who the baseball team is named after.

So easy to say when it is not your race, ethnicity or culture being subjected to a ridiculous caricature.

Also interesting to note are those who think too much is being made of this logo argument also seem to be the same folks who are offended by somebody exercising their right to protest by not standing for the National anthem or saluting the flag.

First, Indians are what they were called. I don't hear them complaining about the term "indian".

Second, the logo shows no whipping - either of, or by chief Wahoo.

But, as to your scenario, wouldn't bother me a bit if the cleveland baseball team were called the "crackers". (where that term came from I don't know)

I would probably prefer the Cleveland White Skins.

They could even have a logo of a caricature of whatever they wanted. But having a white guy whipping somebody? No.

Just as Chief Wahoo isn't shown scalping somebody. Either would be in less than good taste.

I think that more demographics should be exploited for entertainment. Maybe the Cleveland Baby Boomers instead of the Browns. I do not like stereotypes. I am not saying you have to agree. What I am saying is that there are plenty of people who find the Chief Wahoo logo an unfair stereotypical misrepresentation of Native Americans.

And personally, I don't see how anyone would abandon their fandom of the team if the logo is dropped.
